Most other shows just have the average fodder be basically nothing more than target practice for the main guys of the series, but this show goes out of it's way to make sure you realize that the foot soldiers are very strong, it's just that the main crew is that much better.
YES! I was thinking the same thing through the whole series. The average soldier in this series is TERRIFYING unless you're literally an insanely powerful magician or a Belmont.
Yes! The show goes out of its way to highlight the common soldiers and emphasize they they are indeed soldiers, trained and dangerous. There's small subtle scenes that sell the point, like the random solider who dodges and parries a swing from the morningstar, or the close up of the guy's spear handling as he tries to Stab Alucard (before getting cut off by a magic sword). It makes the stakes feel real, like the protagonists actually have a threat in their hands, and when we see them cleaning house it's so much more satisfying to see just how strong they are.

Replying to an old af comment but this is one of my favorite animated series like ever. Everything was so amazing, my intro to the Castlevania storyline
I love how they made Trevor's technique with the whip make it seem like it was everywhere at once, coming at every angle. With its killing power, it really makes you believe why monsters would fear a man who could use it properly.
I also love the way they animated it. His style of combat isn't just to use it like a whip (like in the games) it seems more King Fu/Ninja technique to be honest. I love it though!
Yea I think the fear tactic he used really worked well. I mean he is a great fighter, but these vampires are very aggressive fighters so if he makes them afraid they won't be able to fight effectively. I mean they're used to fighting unarmed, untrained peasants, and since Trevor's family have basically become extinct they have had no true challenge to fight against, they have become weakened by the lack of challenge. Alucard's ramming speed as a wolf is one way to quickly cross the castle but it needs to be a perfect 180 degree plain like the marble gallery. Because one he rams into something solid or too powerful he instantly staggers. Fun way to cut through weak enemies and ignore most of the obstacles.

I almost cried when i heard bloody tears in the background.
*ALERT*
LEVEL 99 SQUAD HAS
ENTERED THE ARENA
This shit was so good. When I'm in the deer stand tomorrow I'ma be humming bloody tears.
This anime was a very slow pace but when they want to put a memorable scene oh boy they really show up an awesome one
Soon as bloody tears started playing when I first watched this I absolutely lost my shit. Had to rewatch this scene multiple times, and STILL rewatch it all the time because it was so damn awesome.
Just beautiful. Hearing Bloody Tears just makes it more epic.
I love how bloody tears plays in the background
I love the way Alucard just says begin then the other two run forwards and he just slowly walks towards them so cool I love stuff like that
To me, this(and the battle with Death) is one of the greatest video game adaptations. The music. The abilities. The fear of a Belmont. They nailed this scene ad played respect to the source material here.(take notes Paramount.)
1:32 I’m sorry this is off topic but the way Alucard’s would form is animated, especially the look of the face, reminds me of one of one of the first animes I ever watched.
I love how they played bloody tears in the background.
The shot at 1:02 is iconic.
0:40 *Begin*
*Bloody Tears* INTENSIFIES
I love how each of the 'good guys' gets to show off their skills here.
I literally was internally screaming when hearing the music. Because it was and still really glorious!!
I love how they fight together. Such an awesome trio. They cover each other and work well as a tight unit. Love these three
I watch this almost on a daily basis. Good god this series is amazing
The first time I watched this, it gave me chills. The music, the crisp animation, the familiar motifs reimagined in a flowing, organic space...simply breathtaking
Also love how Sypha isnt sexualized. Shes not in your face with over tropped feminists themes. She shows you who she is by being a standout member of the team. Her clothing is so tasteful and practical and despite having loving feelings for Trevor, she was never dimmed down to a love interest or some other predictable cliche role that so many femal stars fall in to.
Damn, that Bloody Tears remix
I will never not get goosebumps watching this. Season 3 has some big shoes to fill, but If it's like this, I'll be as happy as can be
My favourite thing is that alucard shifting into a wolf has no perceptible benefit, he’s just doing it because he’s dramatic. I love him
"I terrify them" goes in for the first kill while knocking several off
I haven't played the games when this show came out and even I felt that mix of hype and nostalgia that fans felt
I love that they referenced not just the wolf form from Symphony of the Night, but the wolf form's super-speed too.
I genuinely love that the morning star feels like it's own entity during this fight, like the vampires are not only thinking about the fact the last Belmont is actually here to kill dracula, he has the morning star whip which famously is so good at killing vampires anyone who actually knows how to use it is now a threat to the entire vampire army
To the people who made this entire show I thank you infinitely every shot of this show is absolutely stunning/breathtaking and this fight sequence genuinely made my heart rate increase from utter enjoyment I humble to have seen such beautiful scenes
My God, Sypha is indeed a powerful sorceress
Lady moved freakin Castlevania prior to this scene. If she isn't the strongest Belnades, I don't know who
@@floricel_112 she's definitely the Strongest in the series, chatlotte from PoR. comes to a close 2nd due to her being able to pull off a powerful purification spell
in the middle of an intense battle 3rd would be shanoa. 4th is Juste Belmont since he practically created the Item Crash.
@ahmadadnan4773 Yoko Belnades from Aria of sorrow got stabbed by Graham in a cutscene, after which she got sidelined for the rest of the game due to being unconscious from the aforementioned stab.
Yoko Belnades in Dawn of sorrow fulfilled the role of a shopkeeper. A shopkeeper! And she only fights in the NON CANON Julius mode.
In what regard does Yoko "shit on Sypha"?
I watched this a million times and don't get bored
Trevor is so badass
Just watched the entire show last week and was blown away this scene. Kudos to the artists, director and music composer.
Watching Alucard just punch a bunch of guys in the gut and face were great. 👍🏻
DarkMirria1 Trevor and Sypha have to be so precise and clever with their attacks while Alucard just beats them with his fists
@@BluntmanEXE Damn I was just about to say that, did you ever find the jeweled knuckles in the game?
This is the 4th bloody tears time I've watched this video and the next one in the last hour. It is so captivating and perfectly satisfying.
Alucard: Hi, I'm home. Now get out of my castle and die.
Vampire: Don't you mean "Or die"?
Alucard: No.
GODDAMN I LOVE THIS FRIGGIN SERIES!!!!
Sadly I don’t know much history of Castlevania (started with Lords of Shadow) but damn those show is great, can’t wait for the next season. I do love how Alucard turns into and wolf and that he doesn’t have to hold his sword to kill.
MegaToxic you should play Castlevania symphony of the night
start with Lamment of Innocence. since it's Chronologically the beginning of the Story. Lords of Shadow isn't Canon and it will never be due to it being a separate universe.
I'm 43 yrs of age and remember the initial castlevania games. When the iconic music came in..I effing lost it. Well done.
Alucard: "And now, I shall assume my ultimate form! SWORD WOLF!"
The first time I watched this scene with Bloody Tears sounding in the background I couldn't help but tear up in excitement at my childhood coming to life
0:40 😭😭😭😭😍👌 bloddy tears ost, the best soundtrack of videogame , symphony of the nigth 😢
This is one of the best animated scenes i have ever seen in my life.
Kudos to Warren Ellis for writing this awesome show. Knocked it out of the goddamn park.
god Damn it...the art the animation the choreography the music....everything about this scene is just perfect
I like to think that the vampires were only sensing Alucard at first, like they wrote off Trevor and Sypha off as extra muscle that Alucard gave some weapons to for the fight. Then the flames parted and they realized just who Alucard brought with him.
A trio that can make warring vampires stop dead and join forces to take them down.
When the music started playing my jaw hit the floor
Absolutely love Bloody Tears playing 😭
I love how Alucard just starts the battle with one calm word
The Moring Star is a weapon that you need to be Dracula to not be instantly killed by.
Remarkable scene! It’s like the cut scene of a video game! Even better not bored chit chat just going to the point. Good job Netflix!
The first time im watching this series is this episode when the background music is from the soundtrack of symphony of the night (One of the best ps1 game) gives me a goosebumps i played all the castlevania franchise when i was 7 untill now
I just love the whip trick at 2:02
The fact that it went from near deafening silence, then Alucard said "begin" and Bloody tears accompanied their assault.... *chef's kiss* 🤌🤌
As a fan of the series, i jizzed at every single moment. Especially this scene
I love the fight. So much better than most shows with "supers" from mainstream animations these days. And the music is simple yet powerful.
