Hi folks! I uploaded this video once this morning but unfortunately spotted an editing issue that I missed previously, so I re-uploaded now and it should be fixed :) Apologies for any confusion and thanks for watching!
Omg the dress! The colour! All the knitting you've done! It looks so pretty! I'm gonna do this... Next year! Also thanks for your clear explanations, I need to save this for later! I did just finish a dress BTW, but it was the Brigitte dress from loopy Mango, aran weight ribbon yarn in coton on 15 mm needles!😅 I'm happy enough with it, but it does look a bit handmade, especially around the shoulders. It was a super fun knit though!🌞❤️
Aw thank you so much! It took a while but I'm excited to wear it :) I just looked up the Brigitte dress, that's a super cool design!! Congrats on knitting it up!!
@@tangerineknits oh, thank you Yiqi! that's sweet to look it up. I also wanted to mention I really appreciate you telling us about things that didn't turn out super well... I'm frogging and starting over all the time! I'm sure you will love your strawberry socks this winter🍓❄
@@ouineque Aw I'm really glad! Figured I might as well help others avoid my mistakes haha. And thank you! Frozen strawberries can definitely be a vibe haha
Fyberspates Cumulus is my go to strand of fluff! I've yet to try any other alpaca lace, but I'm positive I would like it much better. I haven't felt a mohair that I liked, yet. But I will see about this one you've used!
Very cute how you were inspired by the eras of Taylor Swift; I'm going to have to look them up. Certain songs of her I don't get tired of on my cardio playlist.
Ahhhh Yiqi, that lavender colour is SO good on you. I also love the levitate wrap you've made and how it fits you at the shoulders, it looks so good already. So much double knitting isnt it !! But luckily it's on the big needles so not as bad as camisoles. Once again, 90% of the projects you've mentioned today are on my ravelry queue :P We really should do a little knit along one day! For the strawberry socks, I say make the second one because a) it's practice for colourwork socks, which means you'll only get better, and b) when they'll be worn on your feet you'll never notice the puckering or imperfections ! You've been so prolific and well done on not buying yarn for a couple months !! we could all learn ...
Aww thank you so much Vanissia!! I really appreciate it :) Ah I would love to do a knit along haha, I love all the projects you choose too, both the ones you knit and your pattern roundups!! That's a good point, if the second one turns out better, then at least I will be happy to have improved 😂 I will probably do that after getting some healthy distance from that first sock haha! And you are SO prolific as well! And you have such good taste in yarns!!
Aw thank you so much!! I used WoolAddcits Air in the color Rose. My Ravelry is www.ravelry.com/people/yiqihandmade :) I'll add that to the description too!!
Hi Yiqi, you've done a lot of progress since the last episode! Everything looks so great! When you say you blocked the dress while still working on it, do you mean wet blocked? How do you do that? Do you secure the stitches somehow? It seems like a nice thing to do to check how long things will end up being, like for sleeves :)
Thank you! And yes, I wet blocked. I transfer all the live stitches to waste yarn - I used a red cotton yarn for the dress so you might be able to see - I just put the waste yarn on a tapestry needle and slipped all the live stitches from my knitting needle to the yarn, then tied a knot so the waste yarn doesn't come loose. Then I was able to submerge the whole thing in water! Instead of waste yarn, I also love using silicone cords, like "pony bead lacing" from the craft store. It's a hollow tube that I can just press onto the tip of my knitting needle, then slide all the live stitches onto the cord - it's a bit faster than using waste yarn!
@@theknotana Of course! It can take some time to transfer all the stitches, but as long as I secure the waste yarn or the cord in a knot, the stitches aren't going anywhere :) Hope this is helpful, and good luck!!
Thanks for the video! It would be nice if you could add some clips or pictures of you wearing the garments so we can see them fully instead of just the parts you're holding in front of the camera, we could fully appretiate wour work that way!
Ooh I just looked it up, I love it! Thanks for suggesting it :) I actually don't have an instagram account, so every now and then I just go peek at public accounts of designers I know of when it comes to mind. Now that you mention it, I think I remember seeing some of her photos of that top when it was still WIP and I was super excited about it - that's awesome that the pattern is out now!!

Just wondering if you follow lilykatemakes? She recently released the tonight top which is a tank you may like.
