I recently made the woodland pullover by WAK and Two of wands. I’m still a beginner and mine turned out really well but it’s a very warm chunky knit jumper.

I just finished a pattern of a vest following mena knits' three part series here on youtube and I love it! It's knit in front and back panel separately and then joined. Thanks for the recs, I'm looking forward to knit the tank top you shared!

This one I'm about to mention is not necessarily a beginner pattern, but it's a fanTASTIC starter sweater pattern for anyone's first sweater! The Newborn Vertebrae pattern by Kelly van Niekerk is EXCELLENT -- so fun and easy!

Thanks for this post! I’m an avid crocheter but a truly horrid knitter. So I’m looking for a fun beginner project. As a total Whovian, I now know the scarf is it 😂.
I’m quite impressed by your Matt Smith picture ( I think he and David Tennant are my favorites) and three sonic screwdrivers. Thanks again and have a great day.

Yeah, my friend got me the framed picture and it's the best gift ever! Love meeting other Whovians ❤

Love your tips! And the fact that you love doctor who as well!!! Eventually I might try the doctor who scarf…but it looks so long 😅 as of right now I’ve finished my evenstar shawl and I’m working on a basic pair of socks!

The scarf is super long but it's so unique too!! I'm working on a pair of socks as well - I'm getting through it hahaha

General rule of thumb: if it’s going to be near high heat, wool or cotton. If it’s gonna get wet a lot, cotton.
Acrylic is fine for anything else. Acrylic plus heat -> melted plastic; wet acrylic -> nasty, mold magnet, may lead to high heat exposure to dry which means melted plastic
Acrylic also reacts to certain common cleaning products VERY badly. ALWAYS err of the side of caution with acrylic.

I was ballsy and started my first knitting project with a vest.
I did think of doing a beanie or something at first but I wanted to challenge myself since it was my first time.

That's amazing though!! A vest I think is really good as a beginner garment since there's no sleeves lol

Love your video! I have tried the basic socks (only one sock, haha) and it was great for beginners! As i reach my first full year of knitting and summer, i want to try the secret summer top and recently found that bra top as well. As someone who has knitted 3-4 sweaters now, this was great to look back and see how far I have come! I also started with knitting hats :)

Can you follow a pattern for circular needles on straight needles and just seam it up? Or will the pattern mess up?

Acrylic for dishcloths is a BAD idea. Yikes.

I gifted an acrylic dishcloth to my least favorite teacher 😭😭😭

    • @Godhelpus62
      @Godhelpus62 Год назад +5

I agree. I was a little shocked when she said that. She did mention that she doesn’t make a lot of dishcloths because she prefers to make garments. I make A LOT of dishcloths. I always use 100% cotton or cotton with scrubby yarn together for dish scrubbing cloths. If it’s not cotton it won’t be absorbent. Acrylic would be useless in a dishcloth. It might look pretty but it wouldn’t absorb any spills or dry any dishes.
