Hey MPS. I think the most important part of building a social network in wix is building your own account system that is independent and can be fully manipulated and controlled by the site author. Do you think that that is something that's possible? Would the site author have to make his/her own type of api and code references? I imagine its not easy but its something I would like to try to do for fun sport. Also great video thanks for the hard effort and your dedication to the community!

It's not possible to build a social network with wix, dont bother. Even if you pull some bs together itll never scale to support thousands of simultaneous sessions. Use buddypress for wordpress if you want a social network. And host the website with AWS

I do want to make a few pointers as to what I think should be accomplished before we go on to add new "features" or cases. I'm noticing a pattern of things being incomplete or not fully functional. Status Postings: It doesn't seem like the statuses are actually connected to the account or user profile, they are simply allowed to be published through the requirement that the user is signed in, but they aren't attached to an account. Hence why I think we haven't seen username and profile picture added in the repeater. Sure there is the owner key, but it is different in every database as well, rendering it useless? Liking: The statuses don't seem to record the number of likes that they get, its sort of a crucial part of the liking system. Design: I know that this is a tutorial on functionality not style, but it gets a bit hard to orientate around the tutorial. Let's get it cleaned up a bit for the next video. I'm a certified wix Expert so If you need some help, I could do some polishing. Best, Dany.

The trickiest parts I find is the profile page and the database . The profile page after you've logged in or when you go to another page and come back to your profile whatever you put in should automatically be loaded, creating a new dataset gets complicated at times because I created the databases first, the features I'm going for are Add Friend, Comments, Deny Friends, Following, Forgot Password Email reset, Log IN, Likes, Members, Mesaging, Notifications, Profile Page, Register, Share, Search, Statuses and probably later on would add a few other features.
I would definitely love to see sometime you build a social network from start to scratch , if i were sitting on $5,000-$6,000 right now, I'd just hire you or whoever on Wix to build a social network

Python is a ton of fun. I hope you do a video on creating a forgotten password form, because people register and log in, but no forgot password form. And later on how to fix the profile to where it loads after you are logged in, instead of after you log in you keep having to type your information. This series is very exciting. I sometimes have to go back and watch them a few times to refresh my memory, and I even take notes which I love to do when I read a book or watch a video.

I'm building an eBay-like website and i use repeaters a lot for the products, reviews, etc. what i cant figure out tho is how to add objects (like buttons) in the repeater and show them only when needed. For example, I have all these products in front of me and one of them is mine. So i want a delete button to show on my product only. how do i do that? is it even possible? thanks

You need to utilize Show and Hide functions based on the user interaction.

How much traffic can a wix website support without servers crashing or any performance reduction . 10,000 users at once? 10,000,000?
I don’t know that exact numbers, but Wix runs corresponding with Google Cloud and AWS so it can handle just about anything.

You need to create a field for tags in the database and the tags must be applied to the data when you are uploading it to the database.

You have to connect via the data where it says "Image Connects To/Image Links To" and add the dynamic profile page.

This comes down to database permissions. You can set it so that it is only "Site Member Author" who can edit or delete.

You simply just start a new site. You don't have to delete the site in order to start over. You can just go select a new template.
