I have this same guitar. I ordered it from Sweetwater on Jan 21 and was told it would arrive the next week and I just got mine a week ago lol. I guess you cant put to much into what the sales reps tell you. Anyway I love the guitar, very addictive and fun to play. So light.

I have a good many guitars and this is my favorite to just pull out and play. Love the simplicity, the feel and the vibe. Great little inspiring guitar.

I bought one about two months ago. I've been staring at it by my couch. Yesterday I tried it with my Fender Champ an my Blackstar HT20. Now I need to buy another one in case this one gets worn out or stolen.
Congratulations on the new guitar. Been thinking of getting one myself. Fun fact; Joan Jett's original Melody Maker used to belong to The Raspberries' Eric Carmen. It was originally in Pehlam Blue. At some point he had painted white, and routed it for the additional humbucker. Carmen sold it to Jett sometime in 1975 I believe, shortly after the Berries broke up. In case you already knew that, well... thanks for indulging me for a moment.

Cool Epi. I agree the white is nice because that's more the look JJ is known for. She uses the kill switch whenever she takes her hands off the guitar, like when she's prompting the crowd to clap, sing along etc.

Ordered mine in February from alto music. ETA went from mid March to late March - Early May. I'm hoping it comes soon because I've been dying to play it. I'm nowhere near as talented as you but I'm more than sure that this guitar will inspire me to push myself to that level and beyond. I cannot wait. With all that said, awesome video and awesome playing! 🤘

@@HYfilms I did! It took wayyyy too long to get here but it was definitely worth the wait! I upgraded the bridge, put some heavy gauge strings on, threw it in drop c. It’s got a pretty freakin beefy tone for such thin/light guitar!

@@HYfilms Absolutely! It's a golden age low profile wraparound. I was gonna get the graphtech resomax one but it was double the price and I'm broke 😂

I've had mine for a couple of months and was very surprised at how big the neck feels! I thought every aspect of it would be small. But this guitar brings huge bang for the buck and sounds awesome.

they're different for sure! I like both in their own way.
@@HYfilms nice. I’m not going to pay the wild prices people are wanting for the Gìbsons, but I did get the Epiphone Olympic and I really like it. Especially how the neck got super smooth after playing it a few weeks, really cool guitar!

This Epi costs about the same as the Gibson JJMM costed when it was released. Thats insane! I bought my JJMM 2008 new and it was 590€ with hard case.

Personally i liked the epiphone coronet when i saw it reviewed, the pick up isnt as hot as that olympic. But i really like the way it looks and plays, im guessn its cheaper, it would rock thru ur marshalll too.. both cool guitars you got tho , peace

Awesome review. I am so tempted by one of these for the punk/rock type tracks we do in our band. My only concern was that at 6ft 2 and 230lbs it may look tiny on me. The weight is perfect as don’t like heavy guitars . Do you think would look like a kids guitar on me or be ok. Can pick one up equivalent of $130 cheaper than lost price as well. Ideally would get the melody maker but can’t find one. Love your enthusiasm . Respect from across the pond in the Uk 🇬🇧

Thanks so much!! Really depends on if you want a humbucker or P90. Would also say that this Joan Jett Olympic is thinner, lighter, rounder than the LPJ! Really just preference! I’d love to get a LPJ as well :) badass single P90!
