    Honorable mention to Jan, who was the underdog in 10 of his last 14 fights, and went 10-3-1 in that period, which included getting the championship off the man everybody though beat Jon Jones, defending against a then undefeated Izzy and getting a draw against the surging Ankalaev who looked like the future of the division.
    Ironically, 2 of those 3 loses came at the rare time he was a favorite, against Glover and Alex.

    I always remember Frankie Edgar was on an old Mtv show called True Life which usually focused on people with odd or weird situations. For example, one kid said he was straight but did gay porn for money, just to give you an idea for how outlandish Mtv thought MMA was at that time. They showed him driving like an hour to and from the gym, and he had that fire in him back then. Not much longer, he started getting more famous and it just stuck with me that I got to see an all time great long before they made it big. Kinda cool.

    I seriously love this idea for a list. It's one I kind of wanted to see for a bit however I envisioned it being called "Top 10 Times Title Reigns were Legitamized"
    Cause one of the reocurring things I've noticed watching these videos is the amount of times fighters won a Title but were buried or not given respect for the win for one reason or another. However they later on legitamize themselves with either impressive performances or doing something no one expected. Aljo, Frankie & Amanda were ones that definitely came to mind.

    • @mavka.chorna
      @mavka.chorna 17 дней назад +1

      Sometimes "MMA math" goes wrong. I think it's because Nunes lost to Cat and Ronda submitted Cat in the first round with ease. The other half is, of course, marketing.
      While Holly Holm exposed Ronda's underdeveloped striking, Holm losing the belt to Miesha Tate, a former Strikeforce champion who herself couldn't beat Ronda on her worst day, solidified Nunes' initial underdog image against both, Ronda and Miesha.
      Funniest thing about this is that grappling-heavy Miesha Tate lost to Nunes via submission, something that Amanda wasn't exactly known for, but neither woman was the grappling ace of Ronda's caliber.

    Its a bit hard for me to accept that Aljo is in Top-3 of this list, I'm not saying that Aljo is a bad fighter but for me he wouldn't even make top-5, its just my take...no hate👍🏼👍🏼
