I always remember Frankie Edgar was on an old Mtv show called True Life which usually focused on people with odd or weird situations. For example, one kid said he was straight but did gay porn for money, just to give you an idea for how outlandish Mtv thought MMA was at that time. It's one I kind of wanted to see for a bit however I envisioned it being called "Top 10 Times Title Reigns were Legitamized" Cause one of the reocurring things I've noticed watching these videos is the amount of times fighters won a Title but were buried or not given respect for the win for one reason or another. However they later on legitamize themselves with either impressive performances or doing something no one expected. Aljo, Frankie & Amanda were ones that definitely came to mind.

I clicked on this video just because I couldn't believe the title + Aljo in the thumbnail. He arguably lost to Cejudo coming out of retirement after years, and Aljo seemed to have a decent size advantage in that fight. Not to say Cejudo isn't an impressive win either way, but I think Aljo proved a lot more before he was champ than he did after receiving the belt.

While Holly Holm exposed Ronda's underdeveloped striking, Holm losing the belt to Miesha Tate, a former Strikeforce champion who herself couldn't beat Ronda on her worst day, solidified Nunes' initial underdog image against both, Ronda and Miesha. Funniest thing about this is that grappling-heavy Miesha Tate lost to Nunes via submission, something that Amanda wasn't exactly known for, but neither woman was the grappling ace of Ronda's caliber.

Honestly, Edwards caught lightning in a bottle, he had a 3 fight streak of the greatest luck of any fighter I've ever seen, caught the head kick KO (PURE LUCK), he wins the rematch (Usman didn't show up plain and simple) and then he 'fights' Covington in one of the absolute most forgettable WW title fights in UFC history and then Belal did what the whole world hoped he would and took that belt off that lack luster, boring to watch, snoozefest of a fighter in Edwards. Hopefully we don't have to see him in the octagon anymore, I literally either go take a few dabs or I eff around on my phone whenever Edwards is up to fight. Point is, Edwards got lucky, it was a great lucky streak I'll give him that, but that's all it was, sometimes people get lucky more than once, but it's kinda like the curse of 13, Edwards lost his belt there, Weidman lost his 0 at his 13th fight, Rousey had 13 straight before Holm kicked some sportsmanship into her before Nunes beat the HOT, DOG SH** out of that unsportsmanlike turd of a woman and sent her packing too afraid to even come to a UFC event because she said she'll be booed out of the arena, (what does she expect, she's a garbage athlete, got lucky for her skill set and for the time in history in which she existed and even then couldn't show the slighest bit of sportsmanship, flipped off Tate after tapping her was the absolute trashiest thing she could do) which she absolutely deserves. Point is, Edwards got lucky, it was a great lucky streak I'll give him that, but that's all it was, sometimes people get lucky more than once, but it's kinda like the curse of 13, Edwards lost his belt there, Weidman lost his 0 at his 13th fight, Rousey had 13 straight before Holm kicked some sportsmanship into her before Nunes beat the HOT, DOG SH** out of that unsportsmanlike turd of a woman and sent her packing too afraid to even come to a UFC event because she said she'll be booed out of the arena, (what does she expect, she's a garbage athlete, got lucky for her skill set and for the time in history in which she existed and even then couldn't show the slighest bit of sportsmanship, flipped off Tate after tapping her was the absolute trashiest thing she could do) which she absolutely deserves. She even cried in an interview talking about that LMAO, sometimes the universe gives us little gifts in the form of humility.
