    6 months ago I started using adapalene gel and about a month and a half or so into using just that, I started to mix it with Benzoyl Peroxide and it has done wonders for my skin! My acne has basically all dissipated and now I just have some reddish/pink pigmentation leftover which is gradually fading! I feel like mixing the two treatments together is what really got rid of my acne! Def recommend this!!

Now it has been 8 and a half months and I get an occasional pimple here and there and am waiting for my red marks to fade, which now look more pink.

    The EU's stars rating denote how effective a sun screen's UVA cover is IN RELATION to it's UVB cover. So, theoretically, a SPF50 with 3 or 4 (Good or Superior) stars likely offers more protection than SPF 20 with 5 stars (Ultra). The star rating (superior, ultra etc) is standardised across all brands too, so we can easily compare one brand with another in terms of sun protection, in all EU countries.

    • @magorzata6910
      @magorzata6910 3 года назад

      Is the combination for acne use? I am 56 and rarely have pimples. I use BP directly on zits and use adapalene. Am I supposed to be using Benzoyl Peroxide all over my face before I apply adapalene?

    • @inr4inbowz
      @inr4inbowz 3 года назад +10

      Sunny girl 87 yes I got it specifically for acne , however Dr Dray has a video where she shows how she applies Differin (adapalene) and says that once your face adjusts to adapalene, you can use BP on top of it as a spot treatment. She also shows how she does that in her video titled “Differin:Tips from a Dermatologist Acne Skin Care”

    • @inr4inbowz
      @inr4inbowz 3 года назад +1

      Sunny girl 87 also I got it prescribed to me since I’m 17 and I’m breaking out all over my face and my dermatologist wanted to prevent my acne from causing any scarring. If you rarely breakout then BP should be more than fine , but if you’re still doubting..you can totally see a dermatologist if you’re able to and ask if you should use adapalene.

    I use adapalene (differin) every other night. It really seemed like my acne wouldn't subside for the first year, until I introduced panoxyl into my skincare routine. I wash my face with that twice a day, moisturize with CeraVe moisturizing cream, and apply adapalene every other day. I also apply a sunscreen now every morning since watching your videos. I put it on over my moisturizer. I use 100 spf in case I don't apply enough, although I try to apply enough.. My skin has never looked better! I feel like my routine is helping my skin heal my redness and acne marks.

      Just so you know, SPF 100 doesn't give you 100 times the protection. Up to SPF 30, the protection is as per the number but higher than 30, the amount of protection doesn't increase significantly. For example, SPF 30 provides twice as much as SPF 15 but higher than 30, the protection only increases in small increments. Better to reapply SPF 30 than assume you are getting 100 times the protection.

      Flipgirl Narie You are obviously not a fan of Dr.Dray. What she meant by not applying enough sunscreen literally Indicates the amount of sunscreen she puts on her face. Nothing to do with SPF comparison.

I do watch some of her videos and love her scientific explanations but I was merely replying to Erica Nutt's comment about how she applies spf 100 in case she doesn't apply enough. You can try to cook dried logan, jujube and goji berry in water. Simmer for 30 mins to an hour (or longer until the fruits are soft) on medium heat to get all the juices out. Drink them and eat all the fruits. You may even put some dried figs to simmer together. They are nutritious. I don't add sugar but if you like you could add sugar. Sometimes I also add peach gums into this mix as dessert. Jujube & goji are used a lot by Chinese to make drinks (sometimes they even put goji in tea) because it is believed to improve blood circulations and improve skin among other benefits.

    Dr Dray, pop the longan in hot water and let it steep for a while. It will re hydrate and flavour the water with it. You can then have it hot or cold and eat the rehydrated longan afterwards. I think you'll like the subtle flavour it imparts.

    Hi Dr. Dray! Thanks so much for your videos! I now care more about the science of skin care products and the purposes that they serve, and you also make some really great recommendations! Your video about the Missha Treatment Essence made me so excited that I've bought the original essence. I also use the Neutrogena Hydroboost Extra Dry after seeing a video you made about it. I know your skin should be damp for the hyaluronic acid in the Hyrdoboost. Can I use the Hydroboost after my skin is damp from the treatment essence?

    • @manimaegalai6007
      @manimaegalai6007 3 года назад +7

      Well there could be a lot of factors. But personally I feel like as if the acne you had dealt with in your teens was a different kind of acne when compared to the acne that you dealt with in your late teens. Or it could also be because your skin is more sensitive then it was before, because retinoids dont work that well on sensitive skin as they are very strong.
