Thank you for uploading all the episodes of Coronation Street aired in September 1999 Eve Henley Spread. I hope there will be no self-righteous spoilsport who will stop us from watch them.
I liked it but it felt weird for Corra. Was it a new thing to do? Like, had they done voiceovers instead of closing music before? I feel like it's more an Eastenders thing, like when they play the long theme as they get a taxi out of there.
OK, I just realized who Uncle Fred reminds me of = Foghorn Leghorn, I say, Foghorn Leghorn! A newcomer to The Street from East Tennessee! God Bless All!!

Judy dying still feels so raw all these years later. I remember watching it when it was aired back then. I had just turned 14. Of all the new characters i thought the Mallets were the most "Corrie" like and could have stuck around for years. In a way they remind me of Jack and Vera.
Me too. Over the years the writers seem to have sent Sally an endless supply of hunky men who seemed to be blind to the free and single women on the street.
The death of Judy Mallet is reminiscent of old Coronation Street. She’s hanging clothes on the line in a working class little backyard and the two legends of the community are there. A little family struggling to make ends meet. The writers got something right. It was nice to see Ken and Emily there in a community known for supporting each other. Excellent tragedy.
Thank you for uploading these :) Once you finish 1999 and if you choose to do 2000, I'll be caught up on the Platt family in Corrie from 1989-2021 🙂 (And in fairness, there's RUclips videos of David Platt all scenes 2000 and Sarah Platt teenage pregnancy 2000. But I'd be interested to see the end of Gail and Martin's marriage and his affair with Rebecca)
And to pronounce liccle, seccled, Maxeem, more-er and sure-er. I’m from Manchester and I’ve never heard anyone make up their own stupid words like this. It gets my goat. Or should I use two syllables, go-ert.
Even sad storylines nowadays make me laugh my head off. Purely because of the terrible acting. The Yasmeen one had me in fits of laughter due to her sheer terrible horrid acting
2:22:49 - Can anyone else fathom why turncoat Sally is here taking the moral high ground with Danny, giving him a severe telling off for "coming on" to her while seeing/sleeping with Sharon? Sally had no such scruples when cavorting with Greg Kelly, knowing full well he was seeing/sleeping with Maxine! The only difference I notice, is that she sees Sharon as a 'mate' (an equal) but saw Maxine as someone beneath her, who didn't matter.
I had a friend who went to Thailand and the "Kwai Bridge" to honour those lives lost.....it's one of those journeys that should be taken by people, like concentration camps etc, the beaches of Normandy etc. It should be compulsory but of course, they're expensive trips. To all of those fallen, may their souls be at peace.🌸🌹
Oh My! That slow build up from the initial bump on the passenger side door, injuring Judys Leg to her collapse in her backyard was extremely well done! Marvellous acting & the 1st time in decades i sobbed like a baby when Gary broke down holding Judy in his arms. Those scenes with Gary & Jim Trying to get each other through Was heart braking! I knew Judy had had an embolism Because this happened to a friend of mine years ago in similar circumstances to Judy Which made these episodes even more painful & poignant. Lightening the mood somewhat I laughed at Audrey meeting her soul mate in catty bitchiness was Maxines mum, Doreen Heavey ( played by well known actress Prunella Gee) In fact at a slight distance, Doreen was a Johanna Lumley lookalike! I do hope we see more of the Bitchy duo of Audrey & Doreen! But knowing how these Corrie writers waste so much talent & Fabulous characters that never get developed! Thank you EHS This compilation of Sept 1999 Was a golden star!!! 🇬🇧👧
It is not Jim or Tyrone's fault that Kevin is having problems with Alison, so Kevin has no right to make him suffer just because Alison has not behaved satisfactorily towards him.
3:28:41 - The handbag market stall holder, just remember where I know him from. Does anyone else remember this man as Maurice Holroyd in "How We Used To Live"? He was one of the rich family, who was killed in WW1 (I think). Gary Mallett was also in it, as one of the young men of the poor family. I think Jon, the hairdresser (when Denise still ran the salon) was Maurice Holroyd's brother in HWUTL, and Gloria Todd (1980s Rovers' barmaid) was his sister. Also Alec Gilroy's daughter, Sandra, appeared in HWUTL as Maggie, the eldest daughter of the poor family - the Selbys (thus playing Gary Mallett's sister in that). The father of the rich Holroyds was Corrie's Dr. Lowther, and the mother of the poor Selbys was Sally Webster's mother, Mrs. Seddon. Never realized before how many cast links between Corrie and HWUTL , in fact, there's probably more. Showing my age, sorry!
Every time somebody knocks on a door or enters an house either looking over their shoulders or once they are inside looking out the door 🚪. Dodgy Street 😂
God knows why Ashley would want to meet Kathleen who was his real mum. Beryl is the one who did all the work in raising Ashley by teaching him right from wrong among other things.
I think there is something Dodgy , about the car that Terry Duckworth sold to Vera in August 1999 , Tyrone said there was something wrong with the alinement of the car door , and I also remember Terry Duckworth did not have the log book for the vehicle , this Storyline remains to be seen .
Another month of Kevin roaring into womens faces one scene and then basically whispering while apologising in the next scene. What a horrible character he is.
I'm on my second round and came to comment the same thing only I found I had already beaten myself to it 😆 He has just literally finished shouting at Rita with a few ''flaming'' thrown in. I don't know how he's not signed in somewhere or at least women warned not to get involved with him.
I think Sharon was always impulsive and obsessive about love considering she was from a broken home and fostered. The idea of healthy love alluded her and it started with her obsession with RBrian....she had to leave to get over that. She never got over any of it.....and turned bitter at the end.
She was a nice character once all that Zoe/Shannon nonsense was out of the way and she and Gary had their own babies. Another likeable character with a sense of humour gone. Shame.
@SuzyQ334 spot on, all that whining she did over the feckless ingrate Zoe made me want to fast forward but the character came into her own once she had her own kids. Plus she had a radiant smile that lit up the pub. Not sure why they would write her out as opposed to someone as nauseating as Sharon Gaskill.
Was Kevin ever a nice person? And was he always such a deceitful, cowardly little prick? Taking his resentment and anger out on Jim and Tyrone by firing them on the spot, and claiming it was Natalie's decision, says everything about who he is.
Why is Alison’s mam so horrible the drowning of Alison’s sister Cheryl was a accident or maybe Alison’s mam is still grieving after all them years but she can’t keep blaming Alison…Maxine and Ashley look lovely on their wedding day….and it was so sad the passing of Judy (R.I.P. Judy) another great episode thank you 🙏
Yes, it's Nicola from Emmerdale. The actress just appeared in Corrie for Maxine and Ashley's wedding and made her debut in Emmerdale a few years later.
From a previous comment , that was the way things Where , The whole community would Ralley round , when there was Tragedy , The whole community would turn up at a street wedding , sadly they days have gone

I never liked Sharon and it looks like she hasn't moved on much since she was obsessed by Brian Tilsley. Seeing her still acting like a child doesn't say much for the foster system. And the fact she's sucking lollipops and lolling around like an 8 year old doesn't say much for Rita's powers of deduction, who hands her business over to her. So much muddled dysfunction going on in recent storylines, people blaming each other, taking the moral high ground, passing the buck.

At the point 6:34:42 Jack said to Terry "Judy Mallett is dead because of you". Well in addition to that it is thanks to Terry that Garry Mallet does not like Jack and Vera anymore
Between 1:50:13 and 1:50:13 Les Battersby is being very bigoted. What is wrong with going to college to get a better education? The year was 1999. I would have thought with jobs being hard to get young people would need all the education they could get their hands on.
At the point 1:12:46 Kathleen said to Fred he upset Ashley. Well if Ashley gets to hear that Fred went to see Kathleen behind his back Fred will not be in Ashley's good books.
2:10:37 - Re: Alison and her infant sister's death - "It's true her parents have blamed her for it... but she didn't do it, Rita... I know her!" shouts Kevin. Hang on, haven't her parents known her for a lifetime, and you've known her for... all of about eight months since last New Year's Eve?
Bill Tarmey (Jack Duckworth) was NOT from Yorkshire, he’s actually one of the few Mancs on the show - there’s way too many Yorkshire accents I’ll admit. Bill was brought up in Bradford.. I mean the Manchester version, not Yorkshire! 😉
@@EveHenleySpreadWell, I have learned something new today. Thank you for explaining. I immediately thought Bradford: Yorkshire Ripper town. I’m an Aussie. The many different accents in the U.K. are fascinating to me.

Many of the females on the show were wearing wigs… I know Vera, Emily & Raquel (and Bet sometimes… the beehive was obviously fake) definitely were but I imagine there was many others, not sure about Rita.
Alison looks like a girl I know called Rachel Jenkins. Rachel Jenkins was a female I fell in love with. Unfortunately the feeling was not mutual on Rachel's side. One thing I learned from that if the female does not love you back the sensible thing for a man to do is give up the idea of having a romantic relationship with the female. Funny thing though, I still prefer Maria to Alison.
