    Ok you FINALLY got me. Only because you said 99.9% instead of the usual 99%. So far I've always been that one out 100 that already knew. I guess I'm not the one out of 1,000 though today. For the first half of the video I was thinking, that's gonna fail inside large pipe. I was very happy you asked him about it though.

      @@panda0039 that's why its a good idea to add condolette whenever you can if your run changes directions. Even though code says you don't need a pull point until 360 degrees of total bends, it is a handy way to pull wire easier.

    Hi Guys!!! Hey Vince, is that swirled conduit a good test for fish tape? That conduit went around clockwise the whole length, which might be easier to run fish tape thru instead of having the conduit going one way, then U-turn the other way, then 90 degrees up, then U-turn down, etc. Maybe that would be a tougher test?

    • @PhatChris221
      @PhatChris221 5 лет назад +9

      100%. The tape is able to push against the pipe so will stay rigid the whole time. A better and more realistic demo would be 4-5 lengths of pipes with opposing bends, long straight runs, joins and put 3-6 cables in it. Something we'd actually see

    We got one of these at my job last year. It worked great in the test they had set up. They didn't give us a size for using it. Ours got mangled in an under ground temp conduit. It bound up pushing through then pinched itself trying to pull it out. The pinch point made it hard to use in long runs with multiple bends. I'm gonna have to get a new head and definitely try that head truck next time. Would hate to have to restrict to to short runs in small conduit.

Can remember first job site was on using a steel fish tape on a 20-30 ft run w/ some 90s & I got the thing stuck, & had to cut it off.....not fun to do; as you lose time.

    .....Hmmmm, I knew this trick. Never seen a wiffle ball used but instead of a wiffle ball, I have seen those blue rubber raquet balls used with a hole drilled through it (they're smaller than a wiffle ball and they weigh a little more and can maneuver through large conduit better , but you gotta tape it up real good ...so ....same trick just a different kind of ball. .but on really large conduit we use a vacuum cleaner (on reverse) to blow a little parachute attached to twine through the conduit. Then use the twine to pull in a "pull rope"

    • @thetruth5210

      @William Logan
      For pulling wire through conduit this is the best tape ever (why is it Gotta be Doodoo brown?)! It is way better and more flexible than my Klein nylon tape. I have no experience with Milwaukee fish tapes, but with that said normally when you’re the electrician and you’re working in low light or no light situations so would you like to Milwaukee black or would you like the Southwire glow in the dark?
      The two fish tapes that are on me all the time or a Klein 25 foot pull tape that has laser edged numbers in it every foot so that I know how far down or up I have fished, and a 50 foot regular Klein fish tape. I keep the long tapes on the van for really bad days.
      I have multiple Klein tapes, Thomas & Belts tape and Greenlee tape (first tape it’s supposed to have 50 feet in it but it only really has about 16😳).

    The only thing i would be worried about would be when you are pulling the wire. with metal tape it has the rigidity to push back into the spool by itself without pulling the handle, which is good when you have a tight pull and have to pull on the wire itself not just the handle. on this one it seems that you would have to push the handle every time to get it to go into the spool or else it would just make a loop on the outside. idk, maybe i am wrong but it just seem like it would be that way.
