I bought the short/compact one for the reason he mentioned. It was perfect fit in the tool box but it has a major flaw in that screwing in the 6 18”pieces it takes to go 9ft is quite time consuming. If doing a drop celing removing all the tiles might be faster. (2 ceiling tiles is 8 ft) Remember it takes time to take it apart too.....not a bad product but time is money so it’s something to keep this in mind. As for myself I have all three of the types mentioned in the video and they work great.

Yes but the vast majority of the world refers to Cat5, Cat6 cables as ethernet cable. I agree, the whisk thing looks handy, i might have to get one also.

I believe these rods are sold in the UK under the Super Rod brand. The Glo Glider (an upgraded version of the whisk) looks interesting. I'm wondering it it'll fit the existing CK rods I have?
This would have been very convenient to use if it wasn't freaking $80 +tax in Canada for a 15 foot rod. Honestly... I'm about to pull out the rods in my tent that do the exact same thing and see if that works because at that price, its nowhere near helpful for the one time i need it.
+Arbknight Just a little update: I needed to fish some patch cable through my house which brought me to this page. I ended up getting the rods that come with my tent, duct tape them together, bend a coat hanger into a little hook, and it worked perfectly. Nobody bother spending $100 on this shit product when you can get a tent AND this for the same price.
+StonedAlone13 These tools are meant for someone who is doing this as a career and will be frequently pulling cable not a DIYer who might only use the tool once or twice. (and believe me after your first commercial job the tools pay for themselves). I'm not a "cable puller" but a lot of the roles I worked in basically required me to do this from time to time, the companies I worked for always owned the gear so at home I would make my own tools; for shorter runs a metal coat hanger actually works pretty well after being unwound, has some flexibility to it. I also have a few long drill bits - one is actually like 4 feet long, they are great for a more rigid rod.
+Alexander Necheff I definitely understand in a professional environment you want the best tools for the job. I'm just saying the price mark up for what the tool is should still be reasonable. At the end of the day they're just flexible rods that can be connected together. There's no advanced technology, or rare materials or anything, it's just rods. In comparison, I bought a 50' wheel of flat, flexible, metal fishing rod at Canadian Tire for $20 and it has worked absolute wonders. So a 15' slightly more flexible rod for almost $100 is sort of ridiculous.

Lol soooo true!!! $80 for some sticks?? I'll go to Value Village and buy a used Tent and use those rods to fish wire through my basement ceiling
