That fish tape is awesome. I would like to see it tested going through conduit while some conductors are in it. Would it struggle and not make it all the way through? It looks like it bends easily

Southwire one is better, and I feel like I need to take a shower after saying that. The Southwire’s tape is high viz. tennis ball green/yellow much easier to see and identify in low light or no light situations. Now if I could get over the embarrassment of owning anything from Southwire enough to carry one on the job site, instead of using my nylon fish tape from Klein...😳

I love the concept of the rod cutter, but honestly nothing is better than a band saw. You can't strap a bundle of 6 to 8 pieces of 3/8 rod to a pipe vice and saw through them all with a rod cutter. It may have it's place on a smaller scale, but for bigger jobs, the bandsaw is the way to go. Besides, it's more versatile because you can cut all sorts of pipe and strut with it too.

  • @lowvoltagedude7837

That treaded rod cutter is what's up guys game changer. I'm always cutting treaded rod with my bandsaw and always checking with a nut. This would save some time and energy. clean cuts no metal shavings I would buy it this for sure 😎 with that non conductive fish tape you should do a video with 40%conduit fill 3/4 200ft run and 3 90 that would be enough proof. Buying something like that would be awesome!!! If it can really replace the steal fish tape.

The polyester fishtape has peaked my interest. I need the VCG to torture test it though before I buy. Shove it through some different size conduit, make it go through 360 degrees of bends, pull some wire with it, what's the tare strenth of the head or tape itself, is there anyway I can repair it if the head breaks off? That's is a plus metal has. Broke the head? Ok cut it and bend a new one.

Recently started apprenticing an electrician and i have to say i only buy milwaukee tools..not going to lie milwaukee has been upsetting the stud tapes do not have marks on each side and no magnet,(also have returned 2 in two weeks) that would be nice. My bits break up pretty fast..i really hate spending a couple dollars here and there replacing a milwaukee tool i buy them because iv always felt they were best, not so sure anymore. Recently turned 25 and had my second little girl. Hopefully milwaukee works just a little bit smarter and bring a good electrician line of tools..great vids keep em coming brother!

Tip from apprentice to apprentice: you can have your favourite brand (Milwaukee is mine too) but at the same time you have to know which company makes the superior tool. I love Milwaukee but almost all my bits are Dewalt because I know they make the best bits. Another good example are pliers again I love Milwaukee but I have Klein because they make arguably the best linesman plier. Thats just my two cents cheers

I have to do that at times myself, into a 480V panel. It's a Food factory, I can't just kill the power. I normally get another person at the panel to watch, which I have the front covered in Cardboard where I hope it deflects the Fish tape. It's worked for many years. But I'm going to look into this plastic tape role to use for times I need to fish to inside the panel. In fact I have another 4, 480V 3-Phase runs to do yet again soon.

So not only did they not have it on demo,(at a concrete tools supply house) they didn't even have it available for sale . M12's are lightweight easy to use one handed, and have other purposes other than just rod. And 9/10 times, their good the first time, occasionally I have to run a dye over them if it slips the threads, but its not that big of a deal or all that common in my opinion.

Be nice if it was more rigid in the beginning to get through a newly drilled holes it might keep getting jammed up till it gets through the hole

Can you review the Milwaukee fish sticks?

Can it go as far as a normal fish in pipes?..
And if it can, " something i doubt " , how much more does it cost than a regular one?

Anybody ever use one of these? How does it fish through pipe with saddles and 90's

Poly fishtape goes through 90s and saddles like butter. The only disadvantage is its rated for 300 lbs if force

Is that polyester tape going to be stiff enough to fish it up a wall? I didn't look like it.

They’ve been making that non conductive fish tape exactly the way Milwaukee’s made it. Not the thread cutter I’ve never seen something like that, pretty fucking cool tbh.

I’m waiting for somebody creates a pull nail tool. Milwaukee please!

Their new powered fishtape is cool but I really want to test one. Its one of those things they advertise as so great it can pull 200lbs. But I feel the feeding will be shitty. Really can't wait to get my hands on it at work. And surprised milwaukee missed the handle feature for rolling up the fish again. I've seen a few ideal ones with it where its a handle on the side that pops out to reel up faster.
The threaded rod cutter is meh. Cool idea but seems pointless to me. Just another tool to carry and use when a bandsaw already solves the issue of cutting rod and has multiple uses like cutting conduit as well. Theres the odd place where the rod cutter might be handy but even then a bandsaw still usually works fine.
We got their new 10ton crimper at work recently and again its cool, but I even emailed them about it, which I was surprised to get a reply. It has some cool features to it but compared to a greenlee crimp which we use all the time. its just way too fucking heavy. Even if the weight is balanced where a greenlee crimp is not balanced. The greenlee is lighter where it doesn't matter you can compensate for it with wrist strength relatively easy. I spent 2 hours just doing grounding crimps with the new milwaukee and i found my arm was getting tired because its so much more heavier. The logging of each crimp is cool, and the centre line markings on the dies is a great feature. But with something that heavy no thanks. Its a deal breaker for me. and the no auto release. One great feature with the greenlee is you crimp and once its done it releases so you can go onto the next crimp without pressing something. and when some lugs need 4 crimps it does save time.
The company I work for is huge and we have a milwaukee rep just designated to our company so we do get a lot of their tools to test as we do with greenlee as well. I know when greenlee came out with their electric gator knock out punches we were given 5 of them on our site to use and the rep told us use them and let us know what you think. So its only a matter of time before we see the auto fish at work.
Will say their vacuum hammer drill thing is the cats ass haha

  • @rorymcallister9091

Rod cutter is cool but any pipe runner should be able cut rod clean with band saw. The true test for any fish tape is two sets of short 60 offsets with a 30 kick into a 90 turn 200ft 3/4 pipe
