On this episode I tackled the installation of the survivor hood I recently purchased from another truck restorer and dragged back home from Saskatchewan (see On the Hunt Ep. 7).
Was not as difficult as I expected and was also able to install new hinge bushings and classic dual round headlights on square classic mounts.
Celebrated the successful install (fit like a glove) with a little twinsticking action.
Enjoy watching the "little by little" progress of this Peterbilt 359 project that's nearing completion and the next #ProjectSnowman, a Kenworth W900A tribute truck to the one used in Smokey and the Bandit.
“Son, from what I’ve heard the biggest thing about the Bandit is his ego … I figure that, plus a lot of my dollars and he’ll try anything, legal or not”
I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts
Subscribe for notifications for future episodes that I do my best to upload weekly including "On The Hunt" where we search out cool old iron for future projects
Who knows what I might drag home next ... Classic Iron Duke cabover, Lincon Hawk Autocar or maybe a Pork chop Express???
Note that for some reason RUclips set my channel as made for kids awhile back so if you haven’t been getting notifications, just unsubscribe, re-subscribe and hit the bell to ensure you never miss an episode! Авто/Мото
No complaints here .... most of us can't afford a "fun" tractor, let alone a tractor/trailer complete setup. Drive that ol' Blue every chance you get and wear out that Jake .... we'll keep watchin' the channel and drooling on our keyboards !!
Awesome finally to the 359 Hood Swap. Perfect song. Beautiful fall day. So glad your doing what you want to do. Your a very lucky man. Thank you for sharing with us. Sending you greetings from Dallas Texas USA.
“One Way or Another” could be the next bumper sticker!
One dollar and another 😁
any day driving a cool old truck is a great day. sometimes we need to take a break and just enjoy our accomplishments.
Your video and movie clip inserts are the icing on your cake. I’m really enjoying your episodes.
I'm an old retired trucker of 40 years on the road.
I'm impressed with the work you've done to ol blue there. I found your channel when you replaced the top on her and have been following ever since.
I broke in to driving with an ol 63 KW, 5x4, and a shiny 290. Loved it.
Keep on keeping on. We'll be watching
i just finished watching smokey and the bandit then when i come back i saw this video. and watching the movie it made me extra exited for project snowman can’t wait for the next upload love your content. regards from australia 👍🏻
Absolutely excited about project Snowman. If you decide to do a special T shirt for that I think it would sell pretty good here in the lower 48
"Old Blue" is looking sweet with the new hood. She'll look better once you get her painted and pin striped.
#finalstep 👍
@@TwinStix an put the chrome badge backing back too as when it painted blue it will make the badge stand out . Love that song of waylon's when you were out driving .
Four colors or not , still prettier than a brand new 389 to me 🔥 can't wait to see it done!
Thanks for the frequent uploads!
Man, I could watch these all day long.
And the music in the cab you play is the best too.
Dolly Has a lot Love♥️ for her Coat 🧥 of many Colares" Love in every Stitch" 🎨 ..Thankyou Mark
I am so very happy for you, hearing the pride in your voice is heartwarming, you deserve compliments, for you have worked so very hard for your dreams. Keep on Trucking brother.
I'm an operator in Australia and it's nice to see a man make a machine sing and dance good job
A world away big Vin yet signing the same ole song.
Waylon on the speakers, warm fall day, "The Duck" beak to the wind........ I'm envious. City Of New Orleans in the garage too. Gonna be a gorgeous rig when yer done Boss. Keep 'em coming.
Gorgeous classic American truck 😍
I really enjoy your channel, you have a great way of narrating while you work and presenting your projects. As far as probation violations, each state in our union is sovereign and people on probation/parole must abide by the rules laid out in their release agreements...just part of the plan. Some people don't like it but jurisdictions must be respected. Please don't take my comment as a scolding, our systems are very different. As an 8th grade student learning about the Canadian system, I lived in NY and the curriculum recognized the value of our neighbors to the north, it was difficult to understand how democracies could be so different and still work. Thanks for you continued contributions.
It’s going to be a beauty when it’s painted... love it!!
Oh man I love the round head lights, my Dad had a 1977 with a 400 big cam 13 speed and he put the early 80s square head lights on it. He had it along with a new (at the time) 1985 Autocar AT64 400 3406 13 speed he hauled steel and equipment with them up till about 2000 and then retired.Old Pet had a special place in my hart.Liked that A car to.
What a cool truck you have rebuilt. You put in a supreme effort in to bring it back to life. Pay no attention and use those Jake's to your hearts content. I know I would! 🤓
Use your jake whenever you want. We don't pay your bills!!
good to see ya wiggle the sticks with left foot on the floor, 2 sticks were the norm in late 50s when I started
That really does look good, especially the headlights. And there’s that beautiful music of the engine!
Great videos! I'm restoring a 1981 359! I just stumbled upon your videos yesterday evening and I'm already on episode 57! Thank you for awesome videos and insight into the restoration of these old girls!
Hello Friend: For what its worth. When I was running two sticks I got two pieces of heater hose and with a bit of grease on the inside ,I removed the shift knobs, and I slid the hoses over the the sticks. The extra weight of the hoses changed the feel of the shifting action and if I missed a gear the hoses muffled the grinding sound of the missed shift but I could still feel the grind in the stick. It was a common practice to use the heater hose covers back in the day. Regards Hugh
It's blokes like TwinStick who dragged humanity out of the caves and onto the moon.
I really like those movies that you put in your videos from the ( 80) loving it keep going great job
Good to hear the shout out to Bruce. People bash him a lot but personally I enjoy his videos myself.
The pin-striping below the headlights is so cool, Miss that about the old trucks.
People took pride in their rigs....awesome channel for all of us
How I love the sound of a Cat!
Your knowledge of these trucks is quite impressive
I love the music choice you have on your videos! Reminds me of home with my dad!
I really do like the fact that you and many others keep mentioning Bruce Wilson, and not bad mouthing him. We have all made mistakes and he has done nothing but try to right his wrongs.
Genuinely can not wait for Bruce to be back on RUclips.
I'm all for custom but I have to say most of the times I like OEM equipment. Those headlight buckets that you picked up look GREAT! So I know projects are never done but looks like Ol Blue is getting close to an acceptable level of done-ness. Never thought i'd watch a fellow up in Canadia restore an old Pete but i've been here for the whole ride.
I’m so excited to see LBL painted up I can only imagine how excited you are
Love the duck! Reminds me of the movie "death proof" and of course "convoy"
Looks great with the new hood! Can't wait to see LBL all painted up.
One more step in the right direction. I'm still drooling... Beauty of a truck. Well done!
21:27 that sound😍😍
Thank you for the clip of Ray!!!! Shit had me dying!!! VLT machines the fuckin way she goes lol. Nice condition hood you found! The old Pete is gonna look great all painted up! More project Snowman please!!!
Love this series. Reminds me of my childhood. My parents owned a trucking company when I was younger. Until 2007. My mother now owns truck brokerage.
Good call on the bushings. Looking sweet as usual.
Good evening Mark and Family
She’s coming right along my friend 🤠
Take care and be safe out there 🤠🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
A Thursday video?!?! Awesome treat! Thanks for making my day!
I love seeing what you have done to this truck and how you saved it. So awesome.

As always, having great time watching. Stay safe and keep up the great work sir !
Thanks for the new episode, keep on going Little by little.
Old blue is turn out nice👍👍
I am so impressed with how far it has come!
👍to the original headlights.
Oh men ! I love This truck !
And she’s even painted yet !
Keep up the good work Twinstick Garage ! 😄
Love it ! 💪🏻
Something to say about those old CATs. Sounds awesome. Love the hood.
I cut my teethe on two stick trucks I use to buff gears like you are when I was young man and like you the clutch was for starting and stopping, Than I grew up and realized the clutch is your friend if you want smooth non buffed gear shifting with the clutch pedal can help smooth out them shifts, believe me the transmission will have cleaner oils samples with some clutch use. I watch your video's allot because you enjoy the two stick trucks I drove a 1971 Kenworth needle nose 400 Big cam Cummins single axle with double trailers hauling aggregate from our quarry to the concrete plant 6 days a week 6 loads a day 30 ton each load. My back is wasted now but Id do it all over again in a heart beat. Keep on trucking brother.
When pushing bushes into an un welded or open ended eye, hammer a small chisel into the slot to slightly open the eye,the bush will go in a lot easier.
Can’t believe how far that rig has come. Great Job!
Mate driving that looks like so much fun !!
She’s lookin’ Sharp ! 👍🏼🤩
Wow fantastic work
Cant wait to see old blue painted and looking new keep up the amazing work
Put some silicone lube spray lube on your rubbers will helping close
Do it outside if you're going to be painting anything in the near future. Anything with silicone will produce fisheyes
Love the show. Thanks for sharing
LOVE from Kashmir Keep trucking Love all the way to USA.
Brilliant!! Nice lights!! Great news.
Really enjoy watching these, good stuff.
I have watched every episode of this rebuild, and really enjoyed it but after ep 57 it says a private videos so I'm not able to see the final result ahhh. even-so what a beautiful project its a pity we don't have trucks like this in the UK. looking forward to project Snowman. Thanks for showing.
Looking good!!! Keep on trucking man.
Ole blue new hood made a huge difference cant wait to see with new paint....will look amazing
Can’t wait to see paint job! Well done sir. Greetings from Southern California.
Looks great!!!!
Looking sweet! Well done getting it all fitted.
That damn things got more gears than a swiss watch. I wouldn't have no time to scratch my cods!
I’ve always loved old iron and Peterbilt but your videos keep me inspired to hunt up my own 359! One of these days I’ll talk the wife into it!
Big blue is looking super clean 🧐
Looking great!
The contrast from how she looked when you dragged her out of that field to how she looks now is huge. I look forward to seeing where you take her from here.
I have worked aerospace for many years dealing with huck bolts. There is actually a cutter to remove the collars. But if you only have a few a ziz wheel works too. You can tell when somebody really loves his hobby to the point of selling off needed items to complete a project...
Man, that looks awesome..!! Great job..!!
Those headlights are amazing..!!!
Right on brother love it can’t wait to see her in all new paint gonna be a fine ride
That hood was a helluva find. looks so good.
Nice can't wait to see her painted
Keep the videos coming . Love the progress.
the new hood is a big improvement 👍
Ezrider92356 thanks dude - just need your help to paint it 😆
Love love what your doing with that old pete im from the uk wish we had trucks like that keep up the fantastic work
Love your videos
You the man Twinstick’s and thanks for the floors once again💪🏾💪🏾
Is bruce still in jail
Hood looks great, can’t beat some ol tunes from the Hag, and Waylon on the radio in the background!
Looking great! I'm glad to see those 379 front fenders go, they're narrower than 359 fenders and IMO didn't look right with the bumper being wider. You're doing a good job. Keep at it.
Haven’t seen a vid in over a year or 2, this channel has come a long way and the trucks 👍🏼, good work
That's going to be really nice truck
Just been catching up on back issues that i missed from your early days. i really like what you are doing so keep it going. i would like my pin spot on the world map, just hoping that it is a new location for a pin spot. if not its good to see that there is more that 1 kiwi watching from good old sunny Hawkes Bay, Napier New Zealand. Thats the mighty east coast of the north island. I have been driving commercial trucks for nearly 30 years now, not to many of us old buggers left who know how to shift a real truck these days. i drove an old R model inter back in my early days with the old twin sticks, but sadly they are very rare now.
thanks for some great you tube vids
Bruce is how I found your channel
Been following this project since the beginning great choice for old iron love the new used hood can't wait to see it in new paint then put A perless log trailer behind it with 90k in wood am let's see what she's really made for keep up the great work and content greetings from Oklahoma
Been waiting for another blue video 👍
hello from Tasmania, Australia :), loving the progress of this truck. ive been watching since you first got this truck and cant wait to see this painted and then see snowman progress :)
I’m also from Tassie, it’s great content.
Somehow I missed the notification, finally watching it now
That hood is the cherry on top. Those head lights are better too. Can't wait to see it after paint. It's gonna look fantastic. 👍
I prefer the black headlights more but Hey you're truck you're way love how it' come on it long
The "chassis" number are still used to this day on PACCAR stuff. The difference is the old stuff the chassis number was used as the VIN, and on more modern trucks the chassis number is more of a factory reference and can also be used for ordering parts but the truck is assigned a VIN according the standard "coding". For years I worked with a Kenworth factory, tech center and RnD and the chassis numbers was always used as many of those trucks didn't have VIN's yet (or ever if they were test trucks) and Peterbilt is much the same.
Truck looks good with the nicer hood on it! You do need an old step deck or RGN so Little by Little can earn it's keep hauling projects. TwinStick Garage custom truck shop!
yay . bout time
Ole Blue looks Amazing Great Music too Cheers from Calgary !!!
Man that’s going to be a great pretty Pete when you are done! Thanks so much for vlogs
