- As of writing this luadayo is the best Zyra support player in the world. With a winrate over 60% and three accounts in challenger he has a few tips and tricks to show us so we can learn that this who's often overlooked can still be a force of nature.

7:00 here is a mistake, you can put plant after R and buff them as long as R is still going.

Solid video for my favorite support. A hugely underrated Zyra perk is that she can position her plants for tanking the opening jungle leash. If done right, you can get to lane as the minions collide with a full-health jungler. It's much easier to do on red start because of weird jungle geometry. You have to tell the jungler to let the plants tank or most won't.

100% i always do that the plant can take 4 hits best leash a jangler can get
You have to make sure you stay around the camp to spawn your passive seeds though, so you can't guard as long as you would with other supports. Make sure to use your Q as soon as the buff spawns. Otherwise the best leash can become a buff steal from your own jungler. Had junglers who decided to smite the camp (while still over the threshold of instantly killing it) so I still got the buff because my pants were still up when it got low on health. I was already past the gromp on my way into lane.
@@johanneschristopherstahle3395 Ideally, you and your ADC leave for lane sooner so the plant + jungle dps puts the camp a few hits above death. Depending on your jungler/laners' damage, you can actually do this fast enough where it looks like you didn't leash.
A tip into hook supports: spawn a plant and it'll hook them instead
Yeah if you have the ping and reaction speed for it. The hook goes through your W if it doesn't sprout in time. I've tried this several times into a Blitz and gotten my ass killed because I wasn't fast enough to spawn the plant lol
But it is probably more effective against Pyke and Thresh since they have wind up times.
@@autumneagle just a note: since Q has a cast time, use your E and place the plant right in front of you for the fastest possible activation.
I've done this tip without knowing about it completely by chance and found it so cool, then I started training it and do it all the time even with blitz, Morgana, etc
@@autumneagle usually i can do that, it depends on the blitz player actually, but with Morgana i normally do that at least one 60% of the times with no problems

Great vid! I’m a one trick zyra currently taking her into midlane. I really like electrocute on her, you can absolutely blow people up with your combo. *just a harmless flower* 🥀
this is Zyra secret knowledge. I play in Vietnamese server which is a blood bath by tradition, and oh boy enemy team are always surprised with how much damage I can do with Electrocute at lv6.
I also like dark harvest, it helps a lot late game, but in the early it's not so good
@@CedroEscarlate yeah. Since you want to win lane with Zyra Dark Harvest is really great if you are confident that you will be able to snowball. Electrocute or Arcane Comet will usually outdamage Dark Harvest though.
@@johanneschristopherstahle3395 now, 5 months later, I'd rather use those two, because dark harvest depends on collecting souls, and there are no guarantees that's gonna happen. Comet and elec are so op for poking, they are better support runes

W level 2 is so crucial. A lot of people run E first and it just is not needed outside of special instances where an enemy mistake has lead to a kill opportunity. Q into W should have the enemy bot laners very unhealthy- being able to spawn ranged plants where you need them practically doubles the poke damage, in my experience, and the gold income is much better early as well as each plant auto produces 20gold if you have a spellthiefs proc
Once you put a point into E lvl 3, the enemy will actually be low enough for it to maximize your kill potential.
This depends on the matchup, E start is for the level 2 kills, with draven ,tristana etc, or if you against a very punishable support.
As a Zyra main, i approve of this video
Protip, if you take CD runes, get into the bush of your Jungler's starting buff in time so you have a seed ready by the time 0:59 rolls around, walk out and hopefully the seed lands somewhere inside the red/blue buff circle. Keep standing there, and by 1:29 you should have three rounds of your passive seeds up. Drop a Q or E, and you can solo leash your jungler whilst also letting your plants tank the dmg from their first buff.
I usually get out of the bush around 0:57. This can give me a good leash of 4 plants most of the times, so I only auto the buff once and sashay to lane. Also having your jungler love you from the start doesn't hurt.
@@vinnie906 I personally like 0:59 because it spawns enough plants to leash, but also gives me an extra two seconds to run to lane before my passive fires off again. With any luck that seed will spawn just in range of enemy duo so i can hit them with a Q and get that level 1 insta plant spawn + poke.
But yeah, Zyra's jungle leashes are on another level. Nothing like having your jungle finish their first camp taking no dmg. :D

I like the night harvester idea. Didn't think about that myself. Usually had to hope for the best vs assassin teams, until getting a Zhonya.

Don't feel bad about making a video on Zyra! She totally fits in with the off meta club feel wise, but people think she's real good. Me personally I'm enjoying queueing up with a socially acceptable pick that feels weird and satisfying to play. Also please keep doing player analysis videos! Sorry for the delay, Sasha. He builds Liandri's in the majority of his games, if the enemy team is full of fragile champions he'll build Luden's, if the enemy team has multiple assassin champions he'll build Night Harvester.

To mitigate the low gold income as support try first strike with Futures market (Not sure if it is in the vid yet, seeing I am at 6:34) it is how I play Zyra and dominate early game. Even after the nerf, I get more value out of First strike then any other rune.

??? Are you for real. I have recently started ranked (pretty much only played aram/normal) and I have been fucking shit up with zyra. Currently in bronze omw to silver. The thing with zyra is, during the laning phase just use your plants to zone the enemy, and save your E don't waste it unless you need to stun your enemy or disengage a gank so your adc can run.

That was a nice video, except you have to mention as 6th item, when u can afford demonic embrace or rabadons or cosmic drive, you give up the control wards on very late game and buy one of this three items.
Demonic embrace against tanks
Cosmic drive against assasins
Rabadons against squishies
Edit: vigilant wardstone also works so well as last item on zyra.
Definitely if the game goes very late that could be the case. I'll say most games for luadayo don't even get to fifth item for him and I always caution most supports to NOT buy a 6th item. Vision control is still important even into the later stages of the game and maybe even moreso since any death could decide the game.
Easy support to climb it get a little bit tricky past Gold since people mechanics are better.
My favourite synergy is definitely Jhin.

But the thing is, in bronze they place them so randomly you'll never know where they are. You could randomly thrown plants in bushes/lane but end up waking on one anyway 🤣

In lower elo trolls or AFKs are super prevalent. Hold strong and you'll climb. Sometimes its a gamble with the tram you get

Hey Saens, I mentioned that Luadayo takes two armor, two magic resist, or one of each - but I think it's confusing because I never changed the screenshot shown in the video to that. You're right you should definitely NOT bring two mr in a lot of cases. I'll work on making this more clear in the videos in the future

you didnt mention the biggest reason pros dont play zyra, which is that she's totally immobile and defenseless, at that high level of play if there are any assassins zyra is basically useless
also some of zyras toughest matchups are against enchanter/healers like soraka and nami because they can just erase zyras damage and out sustain her.

Zyra can work against assassins, but your really have to be conservative with your E usage. Only use it when they dash towards you so you can stun -> R then run away lol.
Zhonyas (and hang somewhat close to towers, where possible) for assassins. *when they go on you* root where possible, unleash an unholy amount of plants, and ult the second you use your stopwatch/zhonyas. Pending your vs their level/items, it typically will either kill an assassin going in on you or dmg/cc/knock them up enough for you to hopefully flash away. Fun tip: if it’s Akali - unload plants+ult right in the middle her cloud when she goes on you.
What's funny is this video isn't useful to me, it's just how I already play that champ. I didn't learn a single thing. Guess I'm a natural. I found her extremely intuitive for myself, I guess that's how every champ is for some players though.

@@BCawk I've mained zyra for years, climbed to D2. Been away since 2019, just came back to the game and I cannot land one root. Have great vision, macro, and shot calling. Lose games and die 10+ per game. Aggressive plays become auto feed. Routine plays become risky. Funny how things work when you cannot land one root all game.
funny thing is more I realize I suck at roots, more tilted I get to the point where I'm actually playing bad and making bad decisions. all because I'm tilted off not landing roots that need to land
