I have thought of Aatrox support in the past, if he wasn't as sustain reliant as he is, he'd be much better, because you can't really afford to buy life steal as support. Also he needs a team that makes for slower fights to be more effective.
Why aatrox yuumi bot is real fun, gives you a lot more room on the aatrox to go deep, as well as still having a top laner and jg to hopefully soak some attention

Sejuani and Zac are just insanely broken as champions, but I didn't expect Mordekaiser support to work until I saw it in action. A friend tried to troll me with it when I played ADC, citing that "I will just ult Samira away from you" and we actually shitstomped them. Morde support is basically discount Swain with an 'oh shit' button.

Usually in Dota 2, and here as well, these types of picks are always considered as trolling, with the only exception being games as shown here, where the player shows incredible control and mastery of their 'troll' pick, which ultimately secures the early game. Which is vital to the continued relevance of the bad pick.
Legit can play almost any champ as support. The main problem is your team either think you're griefing them and automatically checks out of game even before it start or they don't know how to play around whoever you pick as support if it's off meta. That's the hard part, to have your team trust you as off meta support pick and play as they normally would.
Depends what items they build. Almost all true supports in the game with the exception of Pyke build support items for a reason, because of lower gold costs since you get the least amount of money on your team.
Picks like zed, Azir and Aatrox on support are not even considered as off-meta picks in my opinion. They are not support champs, therefore they should not be played as supp. There are some cases where the player is actually good, but lets be honest. If you see an aatrox supp in low elo, he's most likely griefing. If you see him on masters or gm, then he probably knows what he's doing.

I swear I understand him a lot, as being a midlaner playing skill champs, the lane I struggle the most is the botlane because you’re playing it in duo and my mate never got the same hard engage outplays dmg playstyle that I will have on this lane, playind adc or support. But when I can shine the most is when I bring midlanes picks as support such as TF, Leblanc, Zed or Qiyana. Picks whith I’ll be able to setup things and play by my own. Plays that will bring situations where even my adc take 2 sec to react and goes in, he will still win the second part of the fight. I remember a season where a good friend of mine and adc player asked me to go Leblanc support instead of a real supp champ bc he knew that I will gonna farm champs while he will farm minions and in the end win the lane.

Because supports are designed to empower your teammates one way or another, and are built around teamplay based off the fact that only so many people can efficiently make use of the gold on the map and one or more has to be on low income. The closest to being able to do all that is Aatrox just cause of the sheer amount of cc if played REALLY well.

It's wrong to think a support can be a support by just playing for themselves and being a hyper carry. You dont see senna lanes pair with another carry champ for that exact same reason, you need one to be able to empower the team such as tahm kench. Plus most adcs are designed to not be self sufficient and needs the help of a support, by picking supports with nothing to provide besides damage you're essentially neutering 2/5 players from the get go, the adc who doesnt have the support to farm and deal damage, and the support who is trying to carry on low gold. The player in the video does so successfully half the time because he is just plain good, and he also doesnt ignore the fundamentals of supporting.

I too use the lucian strat on my anivia support, I go to mid and hit the tower 3 times or hit the enemy if he is there. Since I ping my team to be in a near bush sometimes we can trade my pasive for a first blood
Aatrox can actually be a pretty good supp, but you have to execute it very well. It´s like supporting with Pantheon or Sett, but way harder since his cc´s are more unreliable, even with Glacial a more mobile champ can easily escape his combos without burning out Flash.

I kinda do this a lot as well. Normal Support champs are fine and all BUT against your match up they too also know your champ well. Bring in Top lane or Mid lane champ to the role and the enemy wont have the right reaction to the match up. I played Support: Sejuani, Ornn, for surprisingly tanky early levels. Rengar, Nocturne, for kill threat global warning - when you press ult the enemy team WILL back off and group more so easy split pushing or choking them to a point. Zoe, Lilia for obvious reason "Sleep" and hard to lock down. (this one is really fun and annoyingly obnoxious to the enemy), Anivia, Kennen for stun galore and enemy wont dive you instantly because ult zone.
in vietnam server, i see this often and i am one of them. I think the biggest reason for me to play this type of support is that I don't trust my teammates

This is by far the best way to enjoy the game as a solo player. I've turned to the dark side as well. I used to be a top lane renekton main that peaked Plat. Now I'm a degenerate that picks whatever I feel like playing as support and either carry or turbo int, there's no in between on picks like these.
To be honest, it is just fun and I used some weird picks too in my journey to euw mt like Glacial Sylas/Trundle/Veigar/Sett or something like Quinn, Aery J4 and etc.

Forget about stuff like skirmishes 1:26 in anywhere below diamond or high plat, I have literally never seen that many people group up together immediately so early when I play in lower elo games AND pinged, even Zoe came and helped.

umbral glaive is undoubtedly the most broken item in the game. Insanely cheap, brings insane value and lethality, and the passive guarrantees the enemy support's wards are wiped every 50 seconds, forcing them to back to get more wards only to have them wiped again inistantly This item should have a 2 minutes cooldown with how insane it is
I like non conventional support play, but my issues are mostly not the enemies who can't handle my weird plays, but it's MY own adc who can't handle it. They tilt, refuse to play, and cry like a baby and game goes down the toilet.
Trolling teammates and non-compliance are the biggest weaknesses of off-meta champs. If someone goes off-meta, they very likely know what they're doing. I played Quinn Supp up to Plat 1, and my winrate was a solid 64%. It's so fun because Quinn is basically the 2nd jungler and a support at the same time with decent enough macro. Winrate could've been way higher if a majority of the games didn't have teammates complaining instead of playing the game. I just stopped for now because even though it's fun and effective, the amount of unnecessary mental stress other people like to induce is not worth it.

I muted them all except the jg because he bothered to look up my stats, realized I was a support main with high winrate. He gave a rousing speech to the rest and told them I wasn't trolling and he focused ganking bot (was playing WW jg). In the end, we snowballed and I repaid his ganks by assisting his jungle rotation. We won in the end, honoured him. If every game was like that, my life would be easier. Most people don't even want to give it a chance.

Plus most adcs are designed to not be self sufficient and needs the help of a support, by picking supports with nothing to provide besides damage you're essentially neutering 2/5 players from the get go, the adc who doesnt have the support to farm and deal damage, and the support who is trying to carry on low gold. The player in the video does so successfully half the time because he is just plain good, and he also doesnt ignore the fundamentals of supporting.
Aatrox support is really slept on , i got mastery 7 with him , and a 80% wr on normals with him

I too use the lucian strat on my anivia support, I go to mid and hit the tower 3 times or hit the enemy if he is there. Since I ping my team to be in a near bush sometimes we can trade my pasive for a first blood
Aatrox can actually be a pretty good supp, but you have to execute it very well. It´s like supporting with Pantheon or Sett, but way harder since his cc´s are more unreliable, even with Glacial a more mobile champ can easily escape his combos without burning out Flash.

I kinda do this a lot as well. Normal Support champs are fine and all BUT against your match up they too also know your champ well. Bring in Top lane or Mid lane champ to the role and the enemy wont have the right reaction to the match up.
I played Support:
Sejuani, Ornn, for surprisingly tanky early levels.
Rengar, Nocturne, for kill threat global warning - when you press ult the enemy team WILL back off and group more so easy split pushing or choking them to a point.
Zoe, Lilia for obvious reason "Sleep" and hard to lock down. (this one is really fun and annoyingly obnoxious to the enemy),
Anivia, Kennen for stun galore and enemy wont dive you instantly because ult zone.
in vietnam server, i see this often and i am one of them. I think the biggest reason for me to play this type of support is that I don't trust my teammates

Trust me, in Vietnam, we saw a lot of these champ as the sp role, some even better.
This is by far the best way to enjoy the game as a solo player. I've turned to the dark side as well. I used to be a top lane renekton main that peaked Plat. Now I'm a degenerate that picks whatever I feel like playing as support and either carry or turbo int, there's no in between on picks like these.

To be honest, it is just fun and I used some weird picks too in my journey to euw mt like Glacial Sylas/Trundle/Veigar/Sett or something like Quinn, Aery J4 and etc.

from what ive heard a lot of these off meta picks and supports work because at that high elo youre used to only fighting the meta, so it rlly throws u off when u see something that unusual

umbral glaive is undoubtedly the most broken item in the game. Insanely cheap, brings insane value and lethality, and the passive guarrantees the enemy support's wards are wiped every 50 seconds, forcing them to back to get more wards only to have them wiped again inistantly
This item should have a 2 minutes cooldown with how insane it is

I like non conventional support play, but my issues are mostly not the enemies who can't handle my weird plays, but it's MY own adc who can't handle it. They tilt, refuse to play, and cry like a baby and game goes down the toilet.
Trolling teammates and non-compliance are the biggest weaknesses of off-meta champs. If someone goes off-meta, they very likely know what they're doing.
I played Quinn Supp up to Plat 1, and my winrate was a solid 64%. It's so fun because Quinn is basically the 2nd jungler and a support at the same time with decent enough macro. Winrate could've been way higher if a majority of the games didn't have teammates complaining instead of playing the game. I just stopped for now because even though it's fun and effective, the amount of unnecessary mental stress other people like to induce is not worth it.
@@inplane9970I had a match yesterday where I was playing nasus support, almost immediately, my top, mid, adc all tilted; convinced I was trolling and the game will be lost (even though nobody died in the first 5 mins). I muted them all except the jg because he bothered to look up my stats, realized I was a support main with high winrate. He gave a rousing speech to the rest and told them I wasn't trolling and he focused ganking bot (was playing WW jg).
In the end, we snowballed and I repaid his ganks by assisting his jungle rotation. We won in the end, honoured him. If every game was like that, my life would be easier. Most people don't even want to give it a chance.

I have tried Aatrox support in the past with a friend in flex (we decided to troll, so he'd go TF adc and I'd go Aatrox supp). It was fun, but sustain was a problem. Maybe now with the durability patch it's a bit different.
I go with Black cleaver for some dmg and armor shred for my team. The Dmg will heal me making me more tanky.
