    The Volt can go 40 miles on pure electric, after that the E-85 fueled motor kicks in to produce more electricity so the care can travel further. between 300-600 miles on one charge/fuel.
    This car will in no way fail. We need to support our companies here at home. Think of it like this. If you buy a Japanese car, you sent your money over to them.
    if you buy American cars our money stays right where it belongs, here in America!

      That's not how free trade works. What about my Subaru that's made in Indiana? Those are American jobs. Protectionism makes everyone poorer.
      Also the Volt did fail. You can buy used ones for $4000.

    Im an American but im up in Canada when i saw it. they go by the metric system. they go by Liters instead of gallons and it doesn't say "An American Revolution" at the end of it.
    i cant seem to find there version on here.

    we left the battery the first time was not because the oil company paid us to, we did not have the batterys like we do today, the oldstyle batterys to power a car would weigh like a ton! they tryed solar power panels but whats the use of those if you cant charge at night or on a cloudy day. we have to technology/batteries now to make lighter batterys that can power cars, but i think the best option for a car would be hybrid, i couldnt trust a oversized R/C.

    @stichy420 I agree that many cars from GM are built in Canada and Mexico also. If you are willing to buy an American brand vehicle I'm quite sure you would only buy those built here in the states.
    Most newer American vehicles built in American facility's are very reliable. Maybe your bought a Mexican GM. lmao
    While GM does owe the American people, the federal government was the one that bailed them out with most people against it.

    Chevrolet Volt is very impressive, but no revolution in fuel efficiency. The Chevrolet EV1 was all electric. THAT was 'an American Revolution' that was killed in committee following a Big Oil handshake. Bob Lutz is no hero.

    Why would you by this for 40g when you could just buy a community car for about 8g? It's all electric and would handle your 12 mile commute? They have them at all the tourist type towns so the tourists can rent them and buzz around the city etc.

    Look if the Volt was 20g it would be worth it. The gas savings does not justify a purchase at 42g or 30g and yes the price will drop probably to the mid 30s if they last. Remember no one wants them. If I drove the volt only to work and back for I could drive the volt to and from work for 12 years and still would not break even, it's a mathematical looser, they sell the gas mileage but forget the maintenance and initial cost I can say the same thing they say about a bike

    • @KTPurdy

    Buy a Volt and you get to fight with your home owners insurance company about replacing the garage that it burns down...

  • @deepfriedking
    @deepfriedking 12 лет назад

    They have increased the tax break to 10g, why because no one is buying GM's or your BS. When you factor in the battery replacement, and you will have to replace it you don't even break even. Call GM ask how much the batteries are. No they will not fall in price either! Go to Walmart and see if they have anytype of battery that has fallin in price. There is no tech here quick reading GM brochure. You have a motor charging batteries that is all. You also loose engineering wise because of weight

  • @deepfriedking
    @deepfriedking 12 лет назад

    The Volt has a 27 year payback, he is garbage. All electric auto's are garbage, they do not make one bit of financial sense. You get less but pay more. Also have higher maintenance costs because of the batteries not to mention the Volt is a limited use auto on it's best day. All hybrids are a product of government manipulation of the auto industry. 43000 for a volt even with the 10g tax refund it is a total looser. To many people have drank the global warming kool-aid Were are the Euro diesels
