The Cure was my first concert at age 17! What can I say, it was amazing. The band has soul and depth. I first discovered them in 4th or 5th grade with the Love Song 12" and Disintegration LP, where this song was taken from.

I'm here with you to the end!!
"Cut the conversation, just open your mouth" is so sexy to me for some reason. I actually went to sleep to this album last night (Disintegration), and the whole thing is perfection. Check out "Lullabye", "Boys Don't Cry" and "Hot Hot Hot" along with their love songs "Love Song", "Pictures of You", "Just Like Heaven", "Friday I'm in Love". So many choices!!!

I made it to the end. The Cure are fooking amazing live. I've seen them 14 times-1985 being the first. They are always giving their hearts and souls into every concert. BTW the drummer's name is Boris Williams and he puts down the steady beat.

I saw them long ago and they were the best live act I've seen. They are one the few acts that consistently sounds better live. It takes a lot of dedication to achieve that. You have to play the songs together so many times it might be aggravating to wind up that in sync. You will enjoy a deeeeeep dive no doubt. The have a huge catalog that includes many long songs with great intros. And I can tell you enjoyed that rhythm section, they come through again and again. I think that's why I can still enjoy their music after roughly 40 years as a fan.

I watched until the end! The Cure was one of my favorite bands when I was younger back in the day and I still love listening to them. This song is from their album "Disintegration", and it is a whole mood, specifically "I just got dumped and I feel super sorry for myself". All of the songs are kind of moody but with loads of intros like this one, kind of ethereal and dramatic for sure.

React to the official video of "Just Like Heaven" by The Cure for your next reaction, please!!! They have * A LOT * of hits, but it's widely considered one of their best.
I was like 11 years-old when it came out, and seeing that video and hearing that song on MTV in 1987 (along with Depeche Mode "Never Let Me Down Again") blew my little mind.

I have seen The Cure, 7 times altogether. I will never forget those experiences. They are the most special band according to me. Their live concerts are legendary- at a minimum they play 3-4 hours straight at almost every concert. They are on stage for all the right reasons and they are sincere in their music. That's why you will find a lot of hardcore Cure fans. It is not merely music for entertainment... it is an immersive experience. Their music gives a sense to all the madness that life offers. A very important band- a global treasure that many overlook.

Their shows tend to last for several hours. I highly recommend watching "The Cure Trilogy" in Berlin. They performed three of their best albums back to back to back, plus encores.

Saw them 1992-06-11 Austin - Frank Erwin Center (yes I'm old) it was awsome. Bought front row tickets. Recall looking back over the crowd and seeing nothing but happiness. Looked again and saw the crowd hand surfing this short girl that couldn't see anything to the front. She landed close by me and we opened up a spot for her. It was the best concert I've ever attended.

I saw the Cure live in Montréal around 1987, then 1989: Disintegration.
Memorable shows. Check out The Cure in Orange, to get a glimpse of their vibe in those times.
They paid special care to lighting effects, smoke, but especially on acoustics.
Robert Smith would not talk so much, but made sure to great and thank the crowd.

This is off of the album Disintegration and it was The Prayer tour in 1989. They played at the Summit in Houston, Texas. I was in row 18 on the floor. I was just close enough to see their faces pretty well, but far enough back to see the whole stage set-up, and since I was just in front of the mixing boards, the sound was perfect. That was an amazing concert.

Prob my all time favorite band. Have seen them live at least 8 times starting in 1986. Always absolutely stellar live. Their Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me show had the weirdest and coolest lights I had ever seen at that time. They wore white and the lights made them look like they were on fire 🔥. Huge huge live sound. My husband was even in a fantastic Cure tribute band for many years here in Dallas. It’s still going now. Fascination Street was often their opener.
My favorite cure songs are Edge of the Deep Green Sea, Charlotte sometimes, Primary, Catch, Like Cockatoos, a Forest, Hanging Garden… so many others. They are HUGE band that has lasted over 5 decades!!! And still going now. Oh! And they were really known for their music videos back in the day. Always cool and interesting.

I also had back stage passes. Met everyone BUT Robert Smith which sucked. But I sat with the guys & Roger opened up some champagne & poured us some & we chatted. I did ask if they liked the remake that 311 did of their song, Love Song & they didn’t agree on it. I like both versions but I absolutely LOVE The Cure! So glad you found them & enjoyed them. I went in the 80s to an outdoor concert in Atlanta (drove from Orlando) and it was one of the best concerts I've ever been to.
and yeah, I made it to the end.

The Cure released a 'greatest hits' album called "All Mixed Up" where they re-mixed songs like "Fascination Street" and "A Forest" which is awesome.

Seen The Cure 3x live and each was a near religious experience. Always 3+ hours, full of emotional rollercoasters. Watch ‘end song’ from the 2022 tour

Glad to see The Cure still making new fans after afl these years.
I sadly never saw them live, but one of my fave albums is the live one called Show.
This was recorded on their tour for the Wish album in the mid 90's.
So I would highly recommend listen to Wish first and then check out Show.
There's also a few songs on Show which are from albums prior to Wish.
So if you enjoy any of those then definitely check out those albums too.

    1. People often read sexual innuendo into the "open your mouth...what goes in.." lines, but Robert has indicated that the song is about wandering in a drug-dazed state around New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Coincidentally, or not, a year later The Mission released a song on the same subject, with a self-explanatory title: Never Again!
    2. As a Brit of a certain age and income, I saw The Cure live five times, thrice in 1996 (the Mood Swings tour), once in 1997 (the Galore tour) and once in 1999 (the Bloodflowers tour). They used to be - not so much now - famous for playing LONG shows with a very unpredictable repertoire drawing on all corners of their catalogue. Also, before the turn of the century, they were one of the last bands to improvise extensively on stage - including vocal freestyling as well as extended guitar solos in certain songs like Faith, Snakepit, Pornography, A Forest (the most famous example), 100 Years and (the very improvisational) Three/Forever (routine)..which is why Cure bootlegs from the '80s and '90s are priceless treasures.
