I love the irony that Iron Wolf and Ragin Cajun were moved from a park Six Flags Great America to a park called Six Flags America.
Great America is my home park and I'm glad ironwolf and Ragin Cajun are gone. Iron Wolf was a real ball-buster Ragin Cajun stoled so many of my hats.

Six Flags America has a new President, Richard Pretlow. He is wanting to improve the park. Worked at Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Sesame. Place.
Will he deal with safety issues or ban those exposing them from the park?

As an SFA home parker, this park has definitely been trending upwards over the last few years. They got a new park president over the off-season and he's been taking this park in the right direction so far. Everytime I've visited the last few years I've genuinely had a good time there; the issue people have isn't with the park itself it just has the misfortune of being sandwiched between KD, BGW, Hershey and SFGADV but when you look at this park solely for what it is it's a good time!
Also people used to get away with taking their phones and other loose articles out on rides but not anymore...good on SFA having some backbone and enforcing their rules now. Can't wait to see what this park looks like down the road!
They are enforcing the no camera rules because I got videotape of rider to ground interference on Superman. Rather than shave 3 inches off the landscaping in the first corner, they banned me from all parks nationwide and began enforcing the no camera rule more strictly.

This makes me so happy that u had a great experience at the park I’m the senior supervisor of the rides department at this park this year and I said that a lot of things will be changing as far as operations. So thank you we still working out a few kinks but determined to get rides on a great path.

SFA has a new park President and he’s taking customer complaints to heart. The operations have improved and so has park cleanliness. They improved the park’s look by painting. The new President even mentioned the possibility of RMCing Roar!!!
I hope they do! He seems to know what he's doing. When it's run by a thoosie (I assume), you know it's gonna be good.
I agree on cleanliness. I’ve never seen the park as clean as I did on opening Sunday. I was super impressed.
There's no excuse for a park to be trashy and there's no excuse for customers to throw their trash everywhere.

The best part of SFA is that whenever you go, you are pretty much guaranteed to be able to get in a good number of rides. At larger parks like Hershey and GAdv, you're more likely to run into major crowds that suck the fun out of the visit.
I’m glad to see SFA is finally getting some noticeable improvement. Give this park RMC Roar or a raptor themed to The Flash and it could give kings dominion a run for its money
We definitely have the best waterpark at least prior to Hershey’s 2017 additions so that extra elite coaster and one more superior flat Your absolutely right

I agree, SFA is my home park, but I’ve had such bad experiences that I would rather drive 2 hours to Kings Dominion. I hope the future years will bring some big expansions to SFA.

SFA gets way too much hate. It's a really fun park with good coasters.
It does get too much hate, but the coasters could be better.
In terms of diversity, SFA is a perfect park. Where else can you find a hyper, launch coaster, flyer, woodie, suspended coaster, spinning coaster, and B&M looper? If you can name a park, do it because I can't.

I was there two weeks ago and I can strongly agree. I feel like this season they have been taking things much more seriously from there operations all the way down to the cleanliness of the park.

The park looks underrated
It is insanely underrated. I honestly don’t get the hate for it. The theming is actually decent in some sections, better than most Six Flags parks I’ve been to. Their ride selection also isn’t entirely awful... it’s not the best, but they have some good rides like Joker’s Jinx, Superman and Wild One. Roar and Batwing are also decent.

Thanks for showing this park some love, it has a really decent lineup. They got coasters for everyone here, none of them are amazing but they are good for what they are. And this park is improving, they are getting a much better flat ride in Harley Quinn and faster operations. This park seems pretty underated imo.
Yeah when i went to six flags America in 2019 i had a blast, the only thing that i was disappointed about was batwing not being open. And im generally a back row guy, but goodness gracious superman was better in the front than in the back. I will second that you should not skip this park if you're in the D.C. area
They definitely have been improving amazingly the past few years. I'm sure the complaints about operations have been a big reason. My last visit in 2019 was absolutely amazing.
We loved our last visit there for improved park reasons as well. And effort is being made and a standout coaster will make the park awesome. Solid top 3 for now 🥃
Six Flags America was my first park this season. I quite enjoyed it. I’ve also been there many times and experienced some slow dispatches and closed rides, but I went on opening Sunday and everything was open, the crews were really nice and friendly and engaging, and everything was going strong. It was a very very good time. It was cool with a light wind, but superman was killing it. Batwing was open… It was great.
Yeah love that Six Flags uses movie scores. I was at Great Adventure last week in line for Wonder Woman and just jamming out to the Man of Steel theme.
I’m so happy to see that they are getting better. We used to all it the “baby sitter park” because it seemed like a lot of parents just dumped their kids and left lol. We stopped going a few years ago when the kids started hating going because they hated how unsafe they felt.
Yeah, I visited SFA this past weekend and it was a great visit. Seemed much more alive than it was back in early 2019.
I haven't seen the second train on Batwing at all this season (but last season it was on the transfer track). Maybe at this point they're using the other train as a parts donor? If so, I give the park credit for doing their best to keep Batwing running.
Now when it does go away; I'd like to see a B&M wing or flyer there.
Also, I'd get rid of Penguin's Blizzard River (since it don't run in colder weather and the water there stinks) in favor of an RMC Raptor; finally RMC roar!
Superman's airtime is best in the front row IMO, with the exception of the 1st drop. The back row yanks you down the 2nd half of each hill, but the front row gives more sustained air over the duration of each hill.
Absolutely agree I was screaming at RUclips when they kept riding in the back front row all day on Superman and thunderhead at Dollywood to name a few
4:33 SFA is my home park and I’ve been wishing they’d put something in that plot of land forever haha, but I don’t think they will since it’d be hard to work around that access road that gets workers to Superman’s far track. But I’m so glad you had a great visit! This is such an under appreciated park
Fun park, clean , ops are better, never crowded, solid top 3, and you can ride everything. Park needs more love. The stigma of the worst six flags park is invalid IMO. Good to see people enjoying the park. Now RMC Roar
SFA has always seemed underrated
Only gets crowded during fright fest. If attendance was high all the time, six flags would invest more into this park. Hopefully Harley Quinn can bring in some crowds

BatWing is super underrated. I consider it up there with some of the B&M flyers. I'm glad SFA seems to be doing the work necessary to keep it running well.

When I went, half the rides were still testing and Superman never opened, which was a shame. I do agree they have brought the park up a lot! I got to see them replace a sensor on The Joker's Jinx which was cool. They gave me a card to skip the line later which was also nice. Overall, I had a great time and thought the park was well-managed. I didn't find Mind Eraser to be too bad but Batwing was amazing!
What I would DEFINITELY like to see in the future is a Justice League dark ride in that field between Batwing and the Superman station. With that addition, I'd like to see them finally add maybe a gift shop and a restroom in that area. Also in that area, I'd like to see them add one of the Jersey Devil raptors or something like that. That would give the park a solid top three, and they'd all be in that back corner of the park. Lol
The new park manager must be making positive changes. I'm looking forward to visiting this month.

They did open last weekend luckily, so I did super 7 times to make up missing 2-3 weeks lol (for both weekends) but no joker cuz ofc that broke, but did do batwing cuz there was no line for it surprisingly

Batwing has a 2nd train, it's just not on the track right now. The last time I saw it running both trains (as well as both stations) was 2018 or 2019.
Earlier this season JJ's 2nd train was nowhere to be seen, so since it's now been moved from storage onto the transfer track, I suspect Batwing may follow in the future.
Great Adventures used to be my home park when i lived in Northern Delaware. Now living in Sothern Delaware this park is a little bit closer. I havent been since 2019. I am getting with drawls from taking on the thrills of the coasters. Even the worse ones. lol. But over all this park I try to show some love to no matter what the issue is. TBH it be nice to see a NEW coaster and none bought from SF Great America either.

Funny how at the beginning those guys were talking about the bad experience with weather at Hershey. I’ve driven 5 hours to go there literally all three weekends since they’ve been open (this was my first year there and Skyrush completely blew my mind and I needed more of it lol) and with the exception of one day (crappy forecast, didn’t look promising), I’ve been there for all of them, and that was the day they went. Every other day has been great weather wise. A little chilly on a couple of the days, but everything ran. Except for Storm Runner of course, I still need that credit...I’ll get it this summer. Even now though, I think that park gave me a new favorite coaster, and that’s coming from a CP fanboy lol. Can’t wait to ride that beast on a hot day.

My first visit was 2 weeks ago and Superman was down all day. Got on everything else tho and had a good day.
The new president hinted that they would rmc roar,I really really hope that happens. Superman looked like it was slow all day though, maybe that’s why the last three airtime hills weren’t delivering as much
I’m friends with some people in the rides department and they are very aware of that reputation for slow ops and are really trying to improve!
When I went back in August '19 during bronycon, Wild One was closed for refurb and it was the ONE thing I wanted to ride...though the app said Joker's Jinx was closed when it actually wasn't, so I guess I should consider myself lucky there ;P

I’m telling you. I had an AMAZING experience at SFA. EXCEPT.... for a operator dispatching a train with open restraints. 😬😬😬😬 they stopped it immediately. But... wow. Lol... I do loveee this park though! It’s simple.
I'm so jealous that you still (or again?) can visit the Parks. Here in Germany all Parks are shut down since November due to the lockdown and no end in sight:-/.

I used to go to that park back in the late 80's when it was called Wild World and was known mostly for water slides. Then it became Adventure World and had baseball hall of famer Cal Ripkin Jr. doing a bunch of promo commercials for it, especially for Vekoma's first Mind Eraser coaster. Not sure if it's still there.

I don’t see them getting a free spin since Kings Dominion and great adventure would have one. But, if they could get a raptor clone themed to the flash, it would be excellent

What day were you there? I was just there on Sunday, and Superman’s red train was on the storage track with water jugs loaded. Joker’s Jinx and Mind Eraser also didn’t even have there second train outside yet.
I went the second weekend it was open this year, it was my first time at the park and i was expecting things to be horrible things but the tickets for 19.99 so i was like why not let go. I have never been before. I was expecting rides to be closed. I was able to go on ever ride at least once and many of them more times. The only ride that broke down while i was there was joker jinx cause I wanted to do that one more time but could not. I was shocked and was happy that i was able to do everything.
I did not know batwing only has one train, that one needs another train as i have only went on it once, but i do have the sister ride (nighthawk) at my homepark of Carowinds.
Just glad i was able to have a good day at the park.
I'm pretty sure that Harley Quinn is gonna open before memorial day because it's already testing

This is our home park closest to us. We have season passes I love The Superman but The Joker's Jinx is a head banging nightmare. But still fun small park.

I watched the recent Ace Mid Atlantic video about the new park president and I have a feeling he'll improve this park. He seems to be a positive individual and I'm curious to see what he'll bring to the park in the future

I really have a feeling that Six Flags was going to make this one of their better parks. If you think about it when they acquired this park they gave it the entirety of Gotham City and a couple of new roller coasters towards the front of the park. I believe that they were going to continue doing that, But then the recession happened. If it weren't for the recession I believe this park would be considered mid/top tier
Intimidator at Carowinds got a renovation for its 10th anniversary
I just recently visited the park for the first time last weekend since living in DC for 6 years. Great Adventure has always been my park of choice but I had a great time despite the bad reviews over the years. Is it as good as Great Adventure? Not yet, but its on its way. If they can get they’re ride maintenance under control (constant ride breaking) and add some more thrill rides with all that space they have *cough cough* green lantern coaster. All in all, I give it an 8 out of 10. I’ll def be back later this season
It looks like Firehawk was so bad they disintegrated and disappeared by the end of the ride!
So I've never been so I can't say from experience, but I always wondered if this park was more of a meme than it deserves. Like it's coaster lineup is nothing special and its only additions in the last 20 years are relocations but it is solid. Superman @ Darien Lake was very fun. That's the only reason I never stopped here, it just doesn't have anything I haven't done before and really there's nothing special so never bothered (I count quality not just # of creds) but yeah for locals it seems like a very solid park.

As someone who live an hour from DC KD 2 hours from BGW I 've wanted to go to SFA but I've heard bad things so I've been hesitant
This park just needs a little tlc then this would probably be a very amazing place
Superman has gotten stuck on the lift multiple times every time I go to SFA
Now if they can keep this level of service when I visit in the fall...

Completely unrelated topics but I needed to get my theory out there, if for some reason cedar point gets rid of corckscrew they could add in an intamin single rail coaster, very far out there but if they remove corckswcrew, don’t build the RMC raptor and rebuild their relationship with intamin it could happen, I highly doubt it but it would be sick
I've been twice, once a few years ago and last year and it seems like they're actively trying to improve things there. Maybe Six Flags has decided that they shouldn't waste the great potential they have here or at the very least they've decided not to let it rot away into obscurity.
How many hours did you have to wait for batwing to dispatch?
How ironic...a few weeks ago I went and it was the WORST experience I’ve ever had there. Longest lines I’ve ever waited in at SFA. Looked like they were doing a simulation day or something...every ride we waited for got stuck and maintenance was right there each time as if it was a planned shut down for practice. Super annoying. I used to work for Dorney Park and we had a simulation day too...but it was where other employees were the riders. No guests were permitted in the park that day. That’s how it SHOULD BE.
