Green Lantern at Six Flags Great Adventure Off-Ride

- Prior to Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom's closure in 2009, the park confirmed that they would be removing Chang for what they called a "waterpark expansion". Shortly after, the entire park was no more. However, one man's trash is another man's treasure! And Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey swept up the former park's crowning jewel, Chang. In preparation for the new ride, the Great American Scream Machine was removed in July 2010 to make way for the new, old ride.
In September of last year, Six Flags unveiled plans to install the new coaster on Great American Scream Machine's former location. The coaster would also be tied to the famous DC Comics character, The Green Lantern (which just happened to have a movie come out around the same time the ride would debut). The changes were to be minimal with the track painted green along with black supports; the ride layout itself was to remain unchanged.
And finally, this weekend marks the first weekend that Green Lantern: Stand Up to Your Fear has been open to the public. From rider reviews, the ride had no problems with the move at it is still one of the best Bolliger & Mabillard stand-ups on the planet. While it may not have quite the airtime like The New Texas Giant or the amount of effects as X2, it is still a solid coaster. And best yet, the area below the coaster received gravel so it doesn't look like it was built directly on a parking lot.

The seats move up and down. You can change the height of the seat to what is comfortable for you before the ride starts.

believe it or not this roller coaster's first drop is intense. Its because youre standing and you cant squat or tighten up when going down a hill like when youre sitting. Even know the hill isnt even big

Me , our son and my boyfriend just rode this for Frightfest this past Sunday at the Sixflags in N.J and we kept our eyes closed the whole time and I screamed my you know what off . I won't be going on this roller coaster again , lol .

This wasn't a cedar point rollercoaster. This is Chang from six flags Kentucky kingdom which closed down and they bought this coaster from them and renamed it to this and painted it from yellow to green
This ride is a lot of fun! The front is the best because it’s more smoother. I did the back and I banged my head along. The front is worth it. Plus it didn’t hurt my balls or legs.
Lucky you! I’ve heard that some people got bad, i mean- BAD leg cramps on that ride.
green lantern is by far the most painful ride at this Six flags great adventures though i still recommend it as an opener ride similar to superman in order for your body to loosen for the bigger rides like Nitro which was by far my favorite got on it 9 times 3 in the day 6 at night by the way at night you cant see any of the ride its pitch black. Other then Nitro, King Da Ka is a must ride same with El Toro and Batman though be prepared to have your breath taken away on batman.

I was so excited to ride this and then I saw, "stand to ur fears" so I was like what? And I found out we were standing but I still rode it. I came home with a cramp from that field trip!

I remember my first time on this ride, as soon as it literally started I already began screaming and everyone was laughing. On the ride, I was a fucking baby just saying, lol. Like... the flips were amazing and it felt to comfortable, but the ride was very scary. The big drop is horrifying, out of a 10/10 the ride deserves a 10/10. Lmfao, scary but very fun and I was a hot mess before the ride and after I actually really loved it.
We skipped this at a recent trip to SFGA. A few people were telling us they got pretty beat up on it. Though it looks pretty smooth in this video.

I went on this at some point in September of 2022. I was in the front and it was a fun ride but....I did get a little head banging and my balls were slightly crushed.
"the whole time in the ride your head is like a ping pong " 100% accurate. maybe not so bad for taller people. notice the girl in the videos placement your head goes side to side the whole time and its painful.

Every time I go, the lines for this ride are usually at least 30 minutes long lmao. And I went both days this past weekend.
Best time to visit is during non peak season like when no events are happening
