  • TULSA, Okla. - Body camera footage was released and charges were filed against John Chatman who is accused of shooting at police in a QuikTrip parking lot last Tuesday.
The shootout happened at the QuikTrip off of Interstate 44 near 51st and Harvard on July 3.
Police say two officers stopped a minivan after discovering the tags didn't match the vehicle. Once officers made contact with the driver, they say he was "defiant and uncooperative."
According to police, back up was called in and officers tried to use pepper balls to get the suspect out, and the suspect opened fire on officers, hitting one in the leg.
Police fired back, hitting the man at least once in the chest.

It ALWAYS baffles me when people turn a perfectly amicable situation into a shooting, and the constant hate on police does not help at all. MASSIVE props to that Sergeant, he showed the kind of calmness you need to command frightened men (not that being scared is something to be ashamed of), and he led from the front!

It's because they know they are gonna get into huge trouble once the police find out who they are. I've seen so many cases on this channel and off that have the same thing happen. Dude has outstanding warrants, or is an ex-felon in possession of drugs or a gun. They know that they'll go to jail, so they instead try to kill the cops or get the cops to kill them cause they are too scared to off themselves or go back to jail. It's why Junior was begging for them to just shoot him when they started demanding he get out, leading up to him pulling his, more than likely, illegal gun out and firing at them.

its like these people have a gun, they point it at their own feet, they shoot themselves in the foot and scream police brutality. Not all, of course, some are just piss poor judgement or even evilness, but most are. And all they'd have to do in that hypothetical, is just put the gun down. Dont be a dumbfuck prick and thinks they know the law when they think Juristriction is a word.

Guy: “no. Am I free to go?”

Cop: *pulls car over* “I pulled you over for not having driver’s license.”

    • @culcune
      @culcune 3 года назад +104

Kind of--he wouldn't have been obligated to show ID for just sitting there; nor for simply driving away, as the catch-22 was him merely stating he had no ID when he did not have to show it at that point. Had the cops pulled him over based merely on him saying he had no ID, yet he was able to produce one, the guy might have been able to bring action in civil court (possibly--more likely in a liberal state). But, pulling him over would have been warranted once determined the van had the wrong tag, which obligated him to produce an ID at that point. I am guessing the gas station was closer than them getting information on the tag, which is why the van was already stopped.

Some people complain that this was “illegal” or “harassment” by running the plate. Well when I lived in a bigger city in CA, there was A LOT of car theft. Police would patrol our apartment complex parking lot and others, especially motels not looking for people in cars “looking suspicious.” They would regularly run plates on cars, especially ones who were not usually parked there to check for stolen cars. They’d run plates to make sure they weren’t reported stolen or come back to the wrong car. Sorry but I’m completely ok about that. Our car theft rate is and was crazy high. Glad I don’t live there anymore!

Attempts to de-escalate a situation, however are not always apparent. It is usually officers who lack authoritative control and turn the situation into a power struggle.
In those instances, it seems to be evident that the officers have not been provided with appropriate training.

The absolute tragedy is that this sub-zero IQ individual was able to reproduce before he got taken off the streets.
And as dumb as HE is, that white girl with him somehow manages to be even worse off in the "Brains Department" because she chose that dude to be her Baby Daddy.

they even said many times, we dont care about the traffic violations... most likely if he would have gotten out, gave his name.. they maybe would have given him a citation or warning... but fuckbags gunna fuckbag.

Amazing how some people insist on "Super Sizing" their crime.
"You were speeding, I need your licence and registration."
"You ain't nebba gonna take me alive copper!" High speed chase and gunfight ensues.
A simple traffic ticket becomes multiple felonies.

General mcpepperballs is a stud. A hero, a real man. He's not only back on his feet, but calming the other officers and telling them how to handle the situation. This guy is tougher than a coffin nail. I wonder if he was military.

I gotta say I don't mind if you upload streams, the streams I don't like are posted by people like saberspark who do movie reviews. But if you're just streaming yourself watching something I don't consider that a review.
