Committing a crime while on duty as a police officer (or any position of authority) is considered an aggravating factor. Because aggravating factors increase the seriousness of the offense they can justify more severe sentences. So, why is he receiving such a minimal sentence? Then to ask to not pay restitution back when life sentences get restitution & they work in prison to pay off their debts to the victims.
