    Creating a dedicated Two way-Express Bus System along the ring road is preferable to investing in an expensive metro train system.

      @@bagtea it sure is but even if construction started tomorrow it would take a decade atleast for the project to be finished and god knows how much more the population of the city will rise by then and how much more congested it will be so we need something quick as well to dispel the transport problem of the valley

    Kathmandu is a small city for a full fledged Metro system. Plus the investment is huge and considering the political scenario this can go for generations.
    Rather I think trams are a good solution, no need to create overhead tracks but rather create tracks in the existing roads. This should be for feasible and practical.
    All major cities, Delhi, Dubai, Singapore has metro for long distance travels, 40 - 80 km whereas trams are used for shorter distance like 15 -30 .

    I feel like even if Kathmandu valley’s bus transit system could see improvement it could be a great change, I feel like introducing more big buses like the ones sajha use and replacing them with the frankly very disorganized state of public transport in the valley can help definetly with fixed arrival and departure times, clean buses no overcrowding and systematic operation can definetly benefit the traffic problem in the country. The bus lanes introduced some time back were definetly not bad initiatives but were implemented horribly. Metros sometime down the road might be a reality but that will take decades so operating big buses in a systematic manner replacing tempos, mini micros and mini buses would be the best most immediate solution

      Bus is useless. Nothing better than a syndicate. I don't know if metro and podway is the best solution but definitely a better solution. Jati dhila teti mahango. Hamro debt per person badhera jane inflation badhne ho

      @@Dibyashwor buses are a very viable solution nearly every country with a good transit system has them, yes the problem of the syndicate has becoming pretty big due to government complaceny, but the thing is even if the metros were to be built they wouldn't connect each and every part of the city, with limits to what can be constructed and where it can be constructed, while a proper bus transit system like in European nations or Japan can help a lot. And finally the pod system you mentioned is very inefficient so we should even waste a single rupee on that, rather then spending so much money and going under even more debt we should first try to make the best out of the resources at hand as of now
      Ps I would also love Metros running in the city but given the time and resources it takes it's definetly a long term solution and currently I am suggesting for short term solutions

      ​@@Dibyashworwrong in Europe where I am living every cities has there own company i.e private run the buses not the government. Government make policies not run the business. The businesses are run by the businessman. Service operator are mostly selected through bidding process so there's very good and healthy competition. Jasko Karan le customer get more benefit with quality service. Nepal ko syndicate break grna government le closely monitor gareko yeuta company xaanney via bidding process ani run grdaa better hunxa. Tara garney Wala xainan. Not with the same old people Tara there's a simmer of hope in the young politicians as we the younger generation's understand these terms and we believe in performance oriented politics.

I agree with the fact that its the strong monitoring and evaluation and implementation on regulations which has created a chaos in public transport sector.     We only need bigger flyover bridges in every outlet in ringroad, which takes vehicles outside ringroad faster then getting vehicle inside ringtoad. Which will ultimately reduce traffic inside ringoad. And only after that metro should be taken as a option after its insufficiency.

    Rather than investing such huge sum of capital in such project where a country can't bear such debt is useless. Instead of that , routine of buses must be under the control of government . The arrival and departure of bus can be done in the gap of every 3-4 min. When the public transportation is good enough ; maybe one has beneficial of travelling in buses rather private vehicle.

    No No No metro ..again new loan for train.. As my opinion we need to focus on industrial development so we can have jobs and earnings from export and then we can think about Metro..we all need to understand our country situation..but we can lower the import of motorcycles and cars and focus in more public vehicles..and for now we implement odd and even number plate so sharing private vehicles and using public vehicles can process more fluently

    The logic for world heritage is flawed. The current transportation challenges, if not streamlined with mass public transportation system will only get worse. Which means more pollution and more miles to Carrie much less human bodies on a daily. So if you take that into consideration, those elements are more harmful For the environment, including the world heritage sites
