I lived on Maui in the late 80's to early 90's and went to Little Beach a few times every week . I can assure you that it was much better back then before all the tourists wearing clothes showed up. Nothing ever stays the same and it very rarely changes for the better. Little Beach is a perfect example of that.

Wow. Why would people go to a nude beach to wear clothes? I haven't been since 2015 and will be going back 2022, hope it hasn't changed too much.

@@JJ-sn1wn, when I was going to Little Beach regularly over 30 years ago practically everyone was naked. There were a few gawkers back then but they would hang out on the slope behind the beach. It's sad to watch videos posted now that show most everyone wearing bathing suits and an actual naked person being the oddity.

@@aarondavid826 why would you go to a well-known nude beach and wear your bathing suit the entire time, unless you are there only to gawk at other people who do get nude? There are plenty of other beaches that you can go to where everyone is wearing a bathing suit but of course you wouldn't be able to be a voyeur at any of those other beaches.

I remember going there many times in the 90's. No crowds, no drums, no paved parking lot etc.
The vibe there seems to have been destroyed by over-use and large crowds. Was a great beach to body surf nude and to hang out with a small, ecclectic, respectful group. What a sad loss.

You would still love it on weekdays. It is just as you described in the 90's. They no longer have the drumming circles or big crowds on weekends, because the DLNR kicks everone off the beach at 4PM on weekends. That is also very sad. We would love to be able to continue to bodysurf and enjoy the sunsets, but that is limited to weekdays...for now. We hope to get that changed.

      Hi Brent,
Are there as many nudists as usual these days? Last time I been there in 2019.
Is there still nudist beach in Paia? Or anywhere else? Plan to visit sometime soon. Thank you!@@BrentRagan

@@cb743 No, there are not as many on the weekends at Little Beach, because DLNR kicks everyone off the beach at 4 PM on weekends. I don't usually go on weekdays, so I don't know what it's like then. Yes, Paia still has a spot that people go nude.

@@BrentRagan They used pan demik as a pretext to install a gate and will close completely and make it private soon, within a year or two. The intend was clear from the very beginning. Sad!

I was on Little Beach last year, it was wonderful to swim naked in the warm Ocean!

I lived on Maui years ago and went to Little Beach all the time, long before the drum circles started and attracted all of the clothed tourists. There's not a better feeling in the world than being naked on a beach in the warm sun and swimming naked in warm water. Little Beach was also a perfect place to go body surfing.

    Why is eveyone wearing clothes?
Thought this was a nude beach.

I don't think those videos would be allowed here. I post the moments that can be shared publicly.

@@mrinterested Clothing optional. Although the County has posted signs saying "No nudity". Most people ignore that. But when the DLNR shows up, people put their clothes back on.
