      Totally! It is interesting to see the 2020 data as it is so shocking of a drop - 99.7% less people than 2019. Weather is a changing, like hurricane season, so we are looking forward to sharing more trends in 2021.

    I agree, October is best. Especially when you travel with points and want upgrades at hotels with a family. My only complaint is that it gets dark early, which is not necessarily a bad thing when you adjust to the time change. We’re usually up very early in Hawaii.

    I agree that October is a great time to visit for all the reasons you stated. I took my mom in 2019 to Kaanapali Beach area for her 85th BD! We were able to get an ocean view room, tickets to the Old Lahaina Luau and sunset dinner sail with ease! A trip we will always cherish! A special treat was that there was a full moon over the ocean and reflecting on the water almost the entire time we were there! An experience dreams are made of! 🌴🌊🌺

    Growing up I was fortunate enough to spend 2 beautiful weeks in Kahana, Maui for spring break every year. While it might be a busier time with families vacationing, I always enjoyed it! Great mild weather and tons of opportunities to whale watch! As an adult I’ve also been lucky enough to visit other islands and at different times. Aside from March I would say June and October are also some of my favorite months, for weather and affordability. Though anytime spent in Hawaii is a great time!

    September and October have always been the best times to come from a weather and price perspective. I’m a born and raised Hawaiian from Kauai. Kauai use to have a location referred to in statistics as the wettest spot in the world. I remember it was around 600 inches a year. I tuned in to see is anything had changed with climate change. The worst time did change. This use to be April/May when it would pour. Kauai tends to have an hour or two of rain every day. It is light rain. Beat to relax. Enjoy! Aloha.

    We only have time off the end of December so all three of our trips to Kauai/Maui/Hawaii were Dec 15-31. AND we still loved it and had a fantastic time. But, yes, the condos and flights were $$$. Crowds were OK and we hit the beaches early to get parking. We have more flexibility with our jobs now and are planning next trip for early summer. 😎

    Unless you’re into wind sports, the summer months generate constant trade wind for north shore and also lots for south shore. Especially on Maui, this is a very unexpected thing for visitors not coming specifically for wind sports. While trade winds blow year round, they are strongest in summer.

    We always told our friends to come visit us during Sept-Mid Nov and also Mid Jan - Early May. Don't go during the holidays and summer. Although, we honestly had 32 guests in our 4 years living there, and they all came at different times, so over 4 years we probably did have someone come for each month and always had a fantastic trip. But that's also being able to come stay with your friends for free lol.... And not need rental cars! I also don't mean that for 4 years we had a visitor for every single month of all those years... Just maybe 1 year we'd have some during 3 or 4 months, and then the next year during different months. I would agree that Oct is great!

  • @hothotheat3000

    They’re right. October has no major holidays that people would travel for (people don’t travel for Halloween), kids are in school and parents have already blown their vacation days in the summer. You go during winter months and the place is packed with people escaping snow. Summer months are a hot ass mess.

    Thank you for this!! We were supposed to go to Maui in September 2020 but due to COVID we decided to cancel. We rescheduled for April 2021 and also cancelled because although we live in Western NY, we fly out of Toronto (the exchange rate makes the flights so much cheaper) and the border is still closed. We are now regrouping and researching the beginning of October or Thanksgiving. We spent Thanksgiving on Kauai a few years ago and it was amazing. The problem we are having is finding quality accommodations during Thanksgiving that don’t break the bank. Lol I’m enjoying your channel-thank you!

    Great video, my wife and I loved October, the Maui Fair, Upcountry was beautiful and I feel like the Road to Hana was less crowded.

    Hi guys, I love your videos. They’re so informative and just your overall demeanor is so friendly, inviting and pleasant; it makes your videos so enjoyable to watch. I’m planning on returning to Hawaii next year (‘22) and have decided to visit a resort in Ka’anapali thanks to your recommendation, but something I’ve been wondering about but have not been able to get a straight answer to is: are there any all-inclusive resorts ANYWHERE in Hawaii? And if not, why? Paying for every single meal during your stay can get pricey. And do you have any tips for managing your meals while vacationing in Hawaii? Thank you.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  3 года назад

      Aloha Linden, thanks for watching! The closest thing to all-inclusive is the Sensei on Lana'i, by Four Seasons. There are no all-inclusives in Hawaii because it is a safe place to travel and resorts want you to leave and explore. We get food at grocery stores like Foodland, pack lunch for the beach, and go to a lot of local places. Food trucks are the best way to eat on the islands. Have a wonderful trip in 2022, and thanks for the lovely comment!

      @@letters7777 since nobody was really concerned about covid at the time it was pretty packed. But its so beautiful it wasn't really a problem in any way. Lots of people walking in the streets was the only time I noticed how packed it was. But the weather was nice. You'll love it. 💘 maybe after the trip if I remember I can come and update how it is now.

    Love the channel, always great info!! We've been to Maui several times in January and just now in August for the first time, we have always stayed in Kihei. We love to snorkel and bodyboard, and understand the effect of the north swell in January, and just learned about the south swell (snorkeling is south Maui was a bust). We would like to come back in October 2022. My question is which part of Maui would you stay if snorkeling and body boarding were your go to activities? Thanks very much!

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  2 года назад +2

      I’d recommend northwest Maui. DT Fleming Beach is great for body boarding. Napili and kapalua and honalua are all favorite snorkel spots.

    Terrific advice, and kudos for supplying graphics to support your recommendations.
    We're big fans of Maui in February since the whales are just everywhere and it offers the biggest contrast in weather compared to where we're escaping from (ditching the heart of Chicago winter in favor of a Wailea beach is the best kind of culture shock.) All of your arguments against December seem reasonable... but we're still hoping to see Christmas in Hawaii sometime in the next few years. The very valid negative aspects will hopefully be outweighed by the positives.

    I really enjoyed your video guys; it was very informative. My husband and I will be in Oahu from 3/12 - 3/18 this year, my brother and sister-in-law will join un on her birthday 3/14, on 3/18 we will fly to Maui and my sister will fly in on that day and meet us at OGG, we'll fly home to Texas on 3/25. It's actually a blessing that we get to spend all that time on the 2 islands, my husband cleans 3 vacation homes for a doctor and her husband, and they asked us in July if we wanted to stay at their time share properties in Hawaii (Marriott's), you can imagine our excitement! so our accommodations are paid for, we just have to fork out for food, car rental, flight, etc..... I still can't believe we're going to Hawaii! I wanted to share that with you.

    Aloha and thank you for your amazing videos - I love watching them! I was in Maui 2 years ago to celebrate my 50th birthday and it was THE best holiday of my life. I can’t wait to come back! I’m hoping to come in September/October this year and was wondering if there is an area that would be best for me? I’m coming alone and probably won’t be hiring a car due to getting lost in my own back yard so where would you advise me to stay? I’m looking for luxury and relaxation but with accessibility to great restaurants and shopping. I don’t know if the time of year plays a part in the area too. Mahalo!

    I've been watching your videos nonstop for the last 2 hours haha thanks for the great content and congrats on your beautiful family. I am planning a 1-week trip to Oahu in mid-Feb (the first time in Hawaii), but I am surprised to see that it's the month with the fewest visitors by far. Why is that? My friends and I can't push back the trip for too long due to our working schedules, but March is doable. Does it make that much of a difference? Beach weather is very important for us... I'm from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and I've been living in Ohio for the last 2 years. Can't wait to enjoy the beach again, but I want to make it right! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @TheHawaiiVacationGuide
      @TheHawaiiVacationGuide  3 года назад

      The weather can be great in February! You always have a chance of rain in the winter, but it's still mostly great beach days. We love the north shore of Oahu but in the winter the weather can be less predictable, so stay on the leeward or south side (waikiki, Honolulu, ko olina). I'm not sure why arrivals is lower in February...maybe it's the lull after the holidays and before spring break?
      Also, stay tuned because we're going to have some Oahu videos coming out in a few weeks. That should help!
