After 3 years and 22,000 miles I have kept every receipt for the car and will now share with you exactly how much the car has cost me over the 3 years. Ive not seen anyone share this kind of real world information about owning a GR Yaris. Enjoy.

The Cat is Ace ❤
Great breakdown, thanks 👍
Great video. Thank you
Your cat has lost its fur!🤣🤣
It’s a lightweight Superleggera version!
Mine has cost me around €80K total in 3 years
But I really do not care the car is totally worth it😃
Totally agree. There used to be a lot worse thing you can spend money on.
Thanks for sharing. Another interesting video and I appreciate your attention to detail on the costs. So many of them can be hidden or forgotten about! I've had my Yaris for nearly a year. I was lucky enough to be able to purchase it outright, although, being late to the party, had to buy a second hand one at the "then" market value, which then, was more than the original list price....! Ho hum!!!
Anyway, I've not spent much on mods (some RallyFlapz and stickers...) :-) And a CTEK Trickle Charger (mine's a weekend car so want to keep the battery topped up).
Done about 900 miles over the last year, so fuel costs probably about £230 (average 29mpg @ £7.30/gallon), road tax £180 and insurance £400 (I'm a bit older!!!), so total running cost and mods somewhere around just over £1100 for 900 miles = £1.23/mile!!!
May be of "interest", but had I left the money in the bank, I'd have earned around £1800 interest over the year (yes, I paid north of £36k for a '22 plate Circuit Pack in Scarlet Flare... Although the first service had been done, so there's £190 back!!!) so that puts the cost up to just over £3.20/mile... 😱 Depreciation on the car? Maybe £4k. I'd hoped it would hold it's value but, realistically, they have dropped in the last 12 months (Although there is a 72 plate Scarlet Flare Circuit Pack with 106 mls @ £38,995 on eBay just now, so maybe £4k depreciation is too much!).
I'll have the second service cost and tax to come. Plan some mods as well (SW Motorsports seat kit to start. Would love an Eventuri intake (£££!!!) and an uprated exhaust... We'll see.
Anyway, we are at around £7.66/mile.... Or just under £7k for the year. Was it worth it for the GR Yaris experience.... 😊😊😊😊 ABSOLUTELY!!!
Cheers, Ross.
Great to hear from someone with lots of extra facts to their ownership too!
I would have loved to keep it in the bank and then get some extra interest. Just was worried about getting a couple of years in and having spent it on mods. lol
Is that Curborough you was lapping at the end of the vid?
Yes. I did a couple of sprint days at Curbs.
Do you have any concerns regarding the gpf delete does this not void insurance completely?
My insurance has the exhaust as a cat back full system and without the GPF it still passes MOT.
You said you serviced the car yourself, so does that mean you lost the annual warranty after the 3 years, as you have not had the dealer service the car, if so could be a false economy
All very interesting as I am considering the revised 2024 with the auto box and chopping in my I Pace
The service I am providing the oils and filters, then getting a VAT registered garage to fit. So my understanding is that the warranty would stay.
Plus mine was an early car so came with the 10 year warranty as standard.
@@FaithlessEmoRacing if the extended warranty is service dependant, I believe it needs to be with a Toyota agent. On the plus you have got it wrong, by having an official service reinstates the following year. I hope you don’t think I am being a know it all, but I think the warranty issue is a big deal especially if you sell the car within 10 years
@mikejoseph425 for me I’m not going to be selling anytime soon. I look around at what I could have for the same money and can’t find something to make my heart flutter!
I’ve not got the extended, but was told at the time of purchase that mine has the older 10 year warranty that isn’t service dependent.
