i have had mine exactly 1 week and 2 days ago got caught speeding for the first time in 20 years. I didnt realise i was speeding because the bloody car is so quick but doesn't feel it. This poxy car will ruin my life and i really wish i could get my money back. I loved the rally Celtica, but in California, you can't modify anything that needs a smog check! I learned this because I had to sell my modified '89 5.0 Capri out of state...
The car does everything well, it accelerates, brakes and turns great, the issue is that it has a lot of grip in the sensations, it seems like it is going on rails and that takes away from the fun, plus the sound of the engine amplified by the speakers sounds very artificial, as if It was an appliance, and the exhausts are as if silenced. In 2022, they took me for a ride in a pearl black one, with the circuit pack and the aerodynamic kid that cost about five thousand dollars more, we were going almost flat out and I thought it was going to leave me speechless but the truth is which was not the case, only a downshift to third and a great thrust of its engine made my head almost touch the windshield, it was what impressed me the most along with its great braking power, but based on comments I expected much more from this car . There are some journalists who think the same as me, but well I think there are two realities, the car that gives you sensations and the one that makes the best times, the Yaris is part of the latter's club. When you get in it feels too cheap and its plastics leave a lot to be desired, they look like a VW Gol Trend from before and all this makes it feel like a "vitaminized little stroller" but not of class.- If you buy it for A safe circuit is great, but if you buy it as a touring car to make a “facha”, as they say in Argentina, it is not so good because it is small, uncomfortable and uses too much gas like a Mustang, according to what I saw in a video from a private individual. from Spain that has the Yaris and compares the consumption with the Muscle Car. Although the suspension is softer than a Megane 3 Rs 265, it is still hard, and it copies every small imperfection of the asphalt in the city. In conclusion, for its price it offers a lot, but it is not the car that you say drives me crazy, neither for its design (although its nose is very rally), nor for its sound, nor for the quality of materials, what makes it precious is the intervention in its development of the quadruple WRC world champion, the Finnish Tommi Mäkinen, which ensures that this vehicle is precise and efficient when it comes to rolling on the track, on a track day, even surpassing other higher priced cars.
I wish car review channesl would actually dyno the cars to see what the actaul power to the wheels are. Manufacturers' power figures has historically not been super accurate and horses go missing with age.
No reason this GR Yaris is not available in USA. Cant use safety as an excuse. Making a whole separate car (GR Corolla) has made this more than a supra. We just call em granola now.😂
About a year ago I put a comment on fifth gear to cover the gr yaris as the show was only doing boring car's was told the gr isn't a good car & we wouldn't there so out of touch crap show

Agreed. Due to gentlemen agreement between Japanese manufacturers, the 280PS were usually official figure for sale, but no doubt it higher
