GR Yaris life made easy with MAROYA Bonnet Dampers. Unbox and Install with me!

In this video, we unbox and install the Maroya bonnet dampers which my dad was able to source from Japan. These hood dampers are supposed to be a bolt-on installation but the instruction manual was all in Japanese so I had to figure out the installation myself. We got the hood dampers finished in carbon fiber and the install took about an hour. Join me as I unbox the Maroya bonnet dampers and install it on my car. Hoping this helps any future buyers of these hood dampers.

I personally see a few issues.
The purpose for not having gas struts is cos the bonnet is extremely lightweight and prone to wrapping when force is applied.
Changing the bonnet bracket removes the factory painted seal on the nuts plus you risk getting a worse bonnet alignment when fitted.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts, however the bonnet isn't actually extremely lightweight to the point that it is prone to warping. It's made out of aluminum. Alignment is no issue for as long as you know how to align the bonnet properly. :)

Here's what I do with japanese instruction manuals: scan the whole document with a good reliable scanner then save as PDF. Open the PDF with the paid version of Adobe Acrobat then copy the text and translate it with Google Translate. Paste it back to the PDF file, replacing the previously copied text. Copying the whole page doesn't always work though, you might have to do it line by line 😅
