Someone said this on the Test Your Might forums and I agree. That Havik in story mode is weakened because Liu Kang tried to combine him with Dairou. The real Havik, the one who is all about preaching chaos and is actually menacingly insane, is in the post credits scene.
Whats cool about these endings is that they seem to coexist perfectly with each other and act as character epilogues for what happens to them after the main story.
They all flow really well to tell a comprehensive story! It was a pleasant surprise. I liked the what if scenarios in past games, but it was never more than a “that’s cool” type of reaction. Whereas here they flesh out the story and tease what’s to come.
Just like in the old games.

I hope the fact that all of the endings are interconnected this time suggests that they're ready to leave the multiverse stuff behind for good after this.
Fun fact, Chameleon was referenced in fight intro dialogues, Reptile asking if there were was folks of his kind among guard.
Calling Kuai the inferior sub is lowkey insane. Bro had so much character development in MK2-7 plus had some cool stuff in 9-11.
Character development in MK2-7? Where? He had none. He was always just good guy sub. Meanwhile Bi Han had his Mythologies arc and becoming Noob Saibot, that's way better.
@@martinseptim5002 he ends up being the good path that his brother didn’t go down. Mk2- he’s a loyal member of the LK before leaving due to cyberization.
MK3- he’s abandoned the LK is hunted down by them for his actions. He even throws away his LK garbs.
Mk4- he decides to take his brothers suit to finish what Bi Han started in Anthologies by defeating Quan Chi and Shinnok.
Mk5- after learning about his brother’s death and past with the nether realm he decides to reform the LK how it was before being corrupted. He also gets an apprentice with Frost even if she turns out to be evil.
Mk6- he’s now grandmaster of the LK and battles the forces of Onaga on his own despite his age.
Mk7- he learns about Noob’s identity and is faced with whether or not he should help considering the whole Frost debacle.
Sadly we didn’t get a follow up since we rebooted for the first time out of 20 afterwards. But even though a lot of his good stuff happens early in the MK series I don’t think that makes him lame by any means.
Also just wanna say Bi Han is great but I don’t think he has nearly enough appearances to match up with Kuai’s history imo
@@orngcreator6115 Bi Han has been in less games but he definitely has more content prior to MK8. MK Mythologies alone has more Bi Han content than MK2-7 has Kuai Liang content. Most of the Kuai stuff is just bio descriptions and text endings. He gets to talk a little in MK4, Deception, and Armaggedon. Shaolin Monks probably has the most on screen time for him prior to MK8. If there was a MK Mythologies Sub-Zero 2 that covered all the events you described I would agree.
But yeah, I do like both a lot.
@@martinseptim5002 I agree for sure. But I don’t think the bios and endings aren’t valid for his character or anything. That being said I do kinda hope that Bi Han becomes a fusion of Sub Zero and Noob Saibot in MK2. Oops I mean Mortal 2 Kombat

Speaking of Hanzo, I really excpected for him and Harumi to reunite as Noob Saibot so we can have a 3 way swap of Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Noob
You are spot on too about Johnny Cage laziness in arcade endings. They've been doing this since 1992 Mortal Kombat. They took the day off when it came to creativity with his ending. Just a rehash of a rehash of a rehash. It stopped being clever long ago. Nothing interesting to think about with him for another 4 or more years. Sad too because they had made him more interesting and fleshed out in last timeline.
Imo, Invasion Mode Hellfire Scorpion has the better Scorpion ending, especially when Liu Kang teleports Hanzo to a timeline where Harumi is Scorpion and reunites with Hanzo.
Wait so they’re even more endings, coming from invasion mode?(I don’t have a ps5 so I can’t really explore all these things myself)
@@chanceenglish7769 The ending is when you beat Hellfire Scorpion at the end of the Invasion Mode. The fight has several phases.
@@danialarceus5724 Interesting, so I take it that each season if Invasion mode will bring with it an ending as well?
I was suprised that he didn't mention that, not sure if milo finished season 1 of invasions because he would show the rest of the cutscenes if he did. I do still agree that it is a great ending.
ps: I'll have to disagree with him calling Kuai Liang the "inferior" sub zero.
My best guest is that Khamelon is zaterran, but was taken into the Umgadi before she could be killed by the zaterran government
I really hope they keep these kind of arcade endings going forward with mk and injustice i like having more story for the characters than a what if sorts scenario
I saw a dialogue between Reptile and Tonya, where she tells him that Chameleon is a Zaterran Umgadi!

-Kano never got the same treatment like Shang tsung giving himself the Obama medal meme treatment. Titan Kano is just when you beat the GTA 5 story mode, online w/ ya mummas credit card. and then deleting ur save progress or maybe Kano kept his old acc while using a Smurf one. “Kronika would u settle for me sausage”
-would serve the same role as Johnny cage in mkx prologue for an eventual MK1 dlc story (reverse flash would be a perfect injustice rep and antagonist being one of few characters that could pose a threat and educate Liu kang in time bending) Start it off w/ kenshi doin some yakuza Shi, it somehow gives a key plot point/Chekhovs gun/important miguffin and then 10 years go bye boom takeda went from adolescent to combat ready adult, Naruto characters could not relate as child soldiers 😥

Imo I’m glad they kinda changed Hanzo bc he always got the short end of the stick because Harumi keeps dying IN EACH TIMELINE everytime mk resets hanzo js always loses his family tbh this time he’s happy and not angry 😂
They used the Yakuza based on Kinshi trying to free his clan from there rule

If anything, by Liu kang resetting the timeline, Hanzo starts to make his own path. While I do get that him not being scorpion in this timeline is a shock, but it wouldn't make sense if he's gonna experience the loss of his own family over and over again. While there are a lot of twists and turns with the new era, I still liked it way more than what the heck was going on with 2011 Mortal Kombat. To be honest, the Invasions scorpion doesn't really mean much.
I think Liu Kang sent that Scorpion to be with the Harumi who lost her Hanzo and became the Scorpion of her time-line

@@zachariasthesamurai9878 Well they did kinda do Hanzo dirty. They knew it too considering they made the alt timeline Hanzo want to wipe this timeline out when he found out what was going.

That's not Raiden that's Kidd Thunder. That's not Shao that's Belokk. Kidding aside I agree with you they nerfed too many characters and really disappointing how they copped out of their own story they spent 2/3rds of the game's story telling to do that multiverse mess of a finale.
Shang's island getting brought back out is pointless. It was so great in the first game and movie but now who is going to go there? No one. There's no Mortal Kombat tournament to be held there anymore.
The Kenshi ending is cheesy and I agree why use boring real world things like "fascists" and the "Yakuza" when we already have Hotaru's order realm forces and Daegon's the black dragon?
Agree too it's a shame how badly they treated Hanzo. But disagree that Kuai is a lesser Sub-Zero. Arguably he grew to be a better Sub-Zero than Bi-Han over the course of the Midway and NRS timelines.
I'm so sick of the multiverse thing but if they are going to do that please bring Marvel / Disney property characters along with Warner Bros characters from a lot of different media and put them into the story mode. That would really blow everyone away. It would be finally Marvel vs. DC along with MK and other popular franchise characters from film and other media maybe.
I cringed a lot at the female characters' endings. They are falling over themselves to empower them so much that they are devaluing so many other legacy villains. All the villains now are either deflated goons or B level threats who've already been squashed or are now good guys begging the great female leaders' society to throw them a bone so they can eek out an existence. They are no longer proud warriors or massive threats.
Almost afraid of what they'd do to the remaining villain Kano. He'd be more like a world's dumbest criminal type than a global / realms most wanted mercenary.
The entire point of Lui Kang's timeline is to nerf the villains. Why would he want Shao to still be a conquering monster? Or Shang Tsung a soul stealing deceiver? But as seen in MK1, these villains are now working their way to become the evil they were in prior timelines
