The MUST Have Tesla Accessory: SPARE TIRE KIT

- Although Tesla vehicles have very few scheduled maintenance concerns, some unexpected issues can arise. One of those being a flat tire. Since Tesla vehicles do not come with a spare, we were happy to see that a company, @modernspare5386 makes a spare tire kit for Tesla. See why we highly recommend it.
@modernspare5386 will include the Wheel Chocks and Safety kit as a free add-on with coupon code TOSV good through the end of the year.
Modern Spare for Tesla. This is for the Model Y

I like the presentation. The one thing that wasn't mentioned was how important it is that you ONLY place the jack exactly, precisely on the jack points and if possible use jack pucks (pads). If you aren't careful you can damage the chassis or even worse the battery.
Great idea! Peace of mind on a road trip. Thanks for video.
Agreed
Thanks for the vid, nice thorough review! Just thought I'd mention it's safer to put the blocks in front of and behind the same tire as weird things can happen with elevated weight and the car can go in either direction.
Good suggestion. I can see the value to doing that.
I will have this spare tire kit when I head down to the Tesla Takeover!
Someone explained to me that it's better to unscrew the wheels before getting on the car. And then climb the car to finish removing the screws.
You want to loosen the lug nuts while there is some weight still on the wheel. Just a turn is enough. Then jack up the tire and unscrew each bolt.

Thanks, Ted. I don't guess the kit would fit in the frunk, would it?
No, it won't fit.
I think if modern tire is designed for Tesla then they should have done a better job on scissors jack. Have a nipple for the hole in Tesla!!
Is that good for tesla model y long range 2023 thanks sir
Check out how you can fit the Modern Spare in the sub trunk of your Model Y! ruclips.net/video/fLL3Y3e7kmY/видео.htmlsi=sAeCeZFNbKnPpVjo
I wonder if anyone stored this spare on a roof rack. It's slim enough to not cause to much air drag. I haven't seen any videos or even pictures of the Modern Spare tire strapped to the top of a Model 3/Y on a roof rack.
If somebody with 18" wheels takes this out on the road, stops by the roadside, lets the air out of one of the tires and changes the wheel with what is in the kit, I will consider it. This video just shows that this guy can change perfectly good tires in his own garage. He can. Good for him.
So you wanted me to drive somewhere and change the tire in the middle of nowhere and film it? How is that any different as I'd be using the same tools.
@Get EducaTed by Ted it adds a bit of drama... And shows how easy it is to use that jack when the car body is closer to the ground because the wheel is completely flat. Hence 18 inch wheels to max out that factor. 😊
WHAT A JOKE😂 P.O.S
I hate when reviewers don't learn about the product they are reviewing prior to recording the review. I knew from the start that those orange plates weren't for the jack and I've never looked into this spare tire kit before. And the only reason, I repeat, the only reason the auto industry doesn't include a spare is to keep their costs down. It has nothing to do with larger brakes or tolerances. Think about it, back in the day all cars came with full size spares. Then as things got more expensive they started including what was known as donut spares, that were designed for a lower speed and limited range. Now many cars don't include a spare and might include a slime type of kit. But once we get away from air filled tires, the need for a spare, slime or a plug kit will be a thing of the past.
Oh and you actually don't have bigger rear brake calipers. Tesla changed them back to the regular size calipers and put a red cover over them, yeah Tesla is scamming us and still calling them "Performance Brakes", when they are just red.
So, did they give you the product for free to review?
