Pulling 82cwt around to Bob minor is madness. I think the whole peal is really one upmanship as it was 10cwt heavier than Exeter. I have rang there and I'm sure they are amazing sounding bells but sadly the tower is Ann amazing size which in part means the acoustics are less than amazing. Often wonder how to make the acoustics better I would put a false ceiling over the top of the frame of great George. Put a timber floor down Fill it with. Loads of old lounges and put insulation on the walls. The sound simply bounces all over the joint. Walk that space above the bells, they could rent the space out to a Telco for Comms gear and it would pay for the accoustics. Also the ringing room is depressing Would really love to hear them properly though
@@RingerPeter so I assume your 15 Drinking is more fun underage. No dont go there. Drink is a fair weathered friend and a lousy master. Regardless of whether it was Bob Minor or Cambridge or even London i think the bells are stupidly heavy, but I suppose that in itself is the challenge. The tragic thing about Liverpool is that due to the belfry being so massive and having so much concrete the bells sound terrible. The ringing room is very cold and depressing and reminds me of some Victorian factory Lancashire. Nothing that money couldn't fix.
I’ve always wanted to go to Liverpool
I didn’t know people can manage CSM in a 82cwt Tenor!
That's one bloody heavy tenor bell!!
Indeed It Is!
Wow it's 4.1 tonnes!! That's huuuuge and heavy.
its the largest change ringing bell in the world

@@Steven_Rowe to me anything over 50cwt is too heavy. But at least you can hear what they are ringing.
The acoustics sound a lot nicer in this video!
After watching the ringer on the right hauling on a 5 ton bell, I can see why they refer to ringing as "The Exercise"... :-)
