Lovely bells and first class striking.
Very mesmerising listening to Surprise Max
I really enjoyed listening to this 🙂
I miss seeing these bells when I sometimes see them they r chiming
何回見ても飽きません
Wonderful! Thanks for posting. Was the microphone also in the belfry?
Yes - what you're listening to is a pair of microphones in the belfry, one above the bells to pick up the direct sound and one positioned to pick up more of the ambient/reflected sound.
I love this bells😍😍😍😍😍😍
Great video :-)
This sounds like the Birmingham band.
I often listen to this with my eyes closed, it is great mindfulness music, i simply at present inthe moment.
When I ring the same is true, so focussed on where you a are in the method and listening ut somehow laying down and shutting myeyes an d listening is better.
I think I could go into the ringing room at Yorkminster and simply listen to a whole peal of Surprise Max or Stedman cinques and just be present in a heavenly realm for around four hours.
Really nice bells. The Cambridge surprise Maximus is rung really well.
This is the winning team’s piece of ringing from the competition
@@JamesJoynson I know Birmingham won the competition in 2018.
@@JamesJoynson james what are those 2 bells at the back?
@@nickpodas5636 there's a few bells at the back - several are from the old ring of bells before these were installed
Amazing!
Epic
this is beautiful! thank you for posting, i was curious what the bells looked like up there!
These sound just like the bells from Westminster Abbey. Very lovely 🥰
Very nice.
Amazing
"Sir, the emperor is coming"
How big are those bells?
The tenor at the back corner is the biggest. Weighs 24.25cwt (1232kg) and has a diameter of 51.00”. The treble (smallest one) next to it weighs 4.75cwt and has a diameter of 25.50”.
Que maravilla

2024 anyone
👇😭
That new band called Pink Floyd brought me here.
What happened to the left Bell?
What do you mean?
@@JamesJoynson The bell that didn't move 🔕
@@JustAnKangaLover if you’re talking about the bell in the middle that’s in the down position, that’s the 6 flat bell. It allows a true octave to be rung on the middle bells instead of hauling a heavy back 8 around. The middle 8 uses bells 2-9 and uses the 6b as the 5th bell. Some towers will also have an extra treble bell to allow the middle 8 to be augmented to 10 using the extra treble as the treble and the treble as the 2nd
@@AshleyMonck Ohhh Ok Thanks
@@JustAnKangaLover it’s ok. Some other 12 bell towers also have a sharp second bell which allows bells 1-8 to become a true octave
wow superb striking?!
GO AWAY bloody hell Nikos why can’t you just go away 😡 also I know about your other account with a different name we know it’s you so stop
