Hello, Groomers.
This is Jessie with Sharp Edges in Oklahoma.
And today I want to go over changing the blade lever in the Oster Volt.
Alright, for the sake of the video, I've already taken the screws out and you'll start by removing the battery out of the bottom here, flipping it over and there are six screw holes here and one here on the bottom which has this little bit short screw in it. So I don't want to lose that. This little short one there.
Once you got the screws out, just take the top of the housing off.
I've already cleaned this out, but there'll be some debris in here for the stuff, you want to blow that out, then take a screwdriver, take this plastic piece off here, and then we'll get right into the blade level right here and just kind of pop it off at the flat head screwdriver and it'll pull right up.
It has this foam piece here that keeps the hair from getting in the clipper - you want to hold on to that.
Take your old clipper, I mean, your old blade lever get rid of that take your new blade lever, you will replace the phone pad around the collar.
Take this synthetic grease - I used super lube, you can use whatever.
You want to put some more grease here on the gear and I'll put a little grease here on this post.
And then I'll have put the foam back around the blade lever and I'll set it in, I'll make sure that foam piece is in the little slot, put it over the post there, the blade lever and make sure it, move it around and make sure that it's fully seated there.
That's all there is to it.
Just reverse the steps, put the case back on, and remember this little plastic piece, which I do sometimes put back on, or you'll have to take it apart and put it back together once you've already gotten it done.
Anyway, you get that assembled, and put the cap back on.
Put your 7 screws in, replace your hinge and you're ready to go.
