To clarify, enemies can still disarm your pact weapon. Pact weapon says you cannot drop it, which you as a character cannot drop the weapon. But enemies using disarming attacks can force you to drop the weapon.

Also do remember that dumping Int is probably the best option, especially in act one when you can get the headband of intellect. Makes it so you can dump possibly 3 stats and only have to deal with the effects of dumping 2. Also works well with any build that does a 1 lvl wizard dip. Makes offensive options viable, as well as more spell's prepared available.
There's a helm you can find in Act 1 (on top of the monastery) that deals radiant damage to enemies that miss you. Provided they fail a Dex save. I used it alongside the Luminous Armor. Which creates "Luminous Orbs" when dealing radiant damage. Best part was as long as the enemies kept missing, they would activate the helms ability which would cause the armor's ability to activate.

I love the videos man! I've been doing a similar more thematic build. It's a dark knight of elistraee (drow ofcourse). War domain cleric and old one warlock. Kind-of stuck on the exact spread right now, but I'll figure it out! Anyway, I'm also going dark urge. So basically, start off as a warlock who doesn't know who his patron is, he just knows he's getting the power from a patron and hears them talk to him in these dark urges. Gets to the underdark and begins worshipping Elistraee in hopes that the urges go away. Mainly uses the singing sword, spirit guardians, and the ice shield that the warlock gets. Arms of Hadar is a cool AOE on self, so I use that too. And like you said, the war cleric gets that sweet second attack, so I utilize that aswell! I'm only playing on balanced as I don't have the time or patience for higher levels, but I LOVE this game!
This is amazing. I can't wait to use this for my first honor run. Still running through my first tactical run as pure thief, not changing any ally classes unless I start to have trouble. So far so good!
I'm sure this has been said, but mirror image increases your AC by 9, 3 for each mirror. However, each time an enemy misses you, a mirror disappears, and your AC goes back down by 3. Very powerful in a short burst.
Hex can pretty reliably replace Hunter's mark imo, and you can build around divine smite/thunderous which can be buffed by spellmight gloves and boots of arcane bolstering which would add a boost +arcane synergy +arcane bolstering, you can also proc the boots off of the level 1 expenditious retreat which is concentration but you can always use that for the bonus dash to get charge then throw up a hex and smash away those items also stack with diadem of arcane synergy which can lead to a riduclous thunderous smite also theres another weapon that adds charisma modifier if you use actor feat crimson mischief and Harmonic dueller actor gives advantage on performance checks and harmonic dueller reads as You make a DC 15 Performance check, success granting all your melee weapon attacks additional damage equal to your Charisma Modifier (minimum 1 additional damage). you would need to run duel weilder to pull that off though that' combo is also cracked with Bhaalist armor but not everyone is doing an evil playthrough great build been looking for a Paladin cleric mix for Minthara that compliments the Oathbreaker build i'm going to run after Monk and this is perfectt was just throwing my two cents in
Im recently in the middle of a honour mode playthrough with 5 Battlemaster/ 7 Draconic Sorc. Its a very tanky sort of battlemage build with armor of agathys, maneuvers and extra attack/quickened spells. Its definitely not the most min maxed build but its so much fun
I'd love some "full class" builds. I keep hesitating on any build that involves all of these dips into other classes. Might just be me, but if you could do a build for a full sorcerer or full fighter. or maybe a party with 4 none multilcass? love the videos
12 Battlemaster (fighter) is a combat god. Riposte, Disarm, Trip, and Feinting attack are the best ones, I think. If you want higher AC, go with the Protection (+1 when in armor) or if you want damage, go with either 2H weapon or 2 weapon fighting. Strength and Con, with maybe a 12 to 14 Dex just for initiative.
Interesting. I haven’t tried Honor mode yet but I’m tempted to try this out. I think imma go Half Orc since it comes with Savage Attacker and the Endurance feat. Kinda makes up for the fact this build only gets one. Lol wish me luck 😅

I have her set up as a Light Cleric actually!! just straight 12 levels into Light! I recently tried one where she's 10 Light / 2 Evocation wizard though and it's a lot of fun! gives her access to spells she can go crazy with and evocation means i don't hurt my teammates! :)

You mentioned an interesting Paladin ability that grants Advantage on the next attack... That got me thinking about the viability of a Paladin/Rogue (thief) build that uses that to gain Backstab and can you also do a Smite on that?
I did a necromancer/oathbreaker. Stuck to necro spells and used the warped intelligence band. Got up to 1 lvl5 slot and with danse macabre had plenty of undead minons while still having plenty of smiting power. Though dont believe i optimized very well. Would love to see if thats something you could optimize. Maknly for role play purpose so definitely not for honor mode. Really love this build, especially since making Charisma our only "mandatory" stats is soooo helpful to compensate the lack of feats. Radiating orb on a Dark Knight just makes me think of Batman throwing flashbang grenades at his enemies 🤣 Crusader's Mantle is amazing when you either have a at least one other melee character in your party, or tons of summons that can all benefit from that extra damage. Little note related to picking Inflict Wounds on Cleric: this will use your Wisdom to attack, which isn't really the highest AND it will eat up your entire action, which in turn means you can't use your Great Weapon Master's potential bonus, or Polearm Master bonus, or your War Priest Bonus attack. Kind of same for Turn Undead, which uses your Wisdom for the Undead to try and save. Out of all the Paladin smites, Thunderous is the only one I'd plan on using, and only as a way to possibly gain advantage against a prone enemy. But again, it consuming your bonus action means one less divine smiting opportunity. Again, kind of same for spending spell slots on damaging Warlock spells (other than Eldritch Blast). Like, you looked at the potential damage of a 3rd level smite, which went up to 60 I believe, and which can be doubled on a crit, vs a 3rd level Arms of Hadar, which only does 4 to 24 damage, and can be saved against for only half damage... Divine Sense's Advantage means higher chance of landing a juicy crit that can then be smited using a 3rd level spell slot. Further more, on a Paladin that isn't Oathbreaker, Cure Wounds is fully outclassed by Lay On Hands, since both are melee healing that use your action, but Lay on Hands just gives you a flat amount of healing. The same can be said of picking Lesser Restoration with your 2nd level spell slots, that can partly be done with the "Cure" part of Lay on Hands. Also, I'd much rather be using a 2nd level spell slot to smite baddies. A little trick I like using with the Coruscation Ring is just having a caster in the party cast Light on my melee weapon, and boom, enemies are illuminated! 😂 Ring of Free Action is kind of unnecessary when you have the boots that give you Freedom of Movement, since the Ring of Free Action is just Freedom of Movement in ring form I believe.
tbh you can get rid of warlock and focus on elixir of hill giant strength as they are quite easy to comeby and stack (3x at auntie ethel everyday + then in underdark mycoid colony you can buy hill giant fingers or potions)
I say forget about warlock lvl3 and instead get 3 lvls on thief for the bonus actions, wich allows you to use more smites or even attack more using war priest charges.
I want to ask how you are dealing with that War Priest bug when (if you have bonus action and charge avaible) game forcing you to do War Priest bonus attack before an Extra Attack (from level 5 Paladin). It happend to me all the time. Respecing fixed it, but after a long rest it brokes again. Finally I gave up and replace War Cleric with a Light one in a mix.

at 38:38 when you bind the balduran giantslayer the damage actually (visible) goes down !! cos your charisma is lower then your strength (with the elixir), though you sayed it doesnt effect it???
Hey man, love the build! Just wanted to ask, though, in case I'm missing something. The Everburn greatsword is only a fire greatsword, so you're not getting the magical +1 bonus to attack/damage that you'd get for "dipping" a +1 weapon in a candle. Is there something special about Everburn that pushes it ahead of a regular +1 Greatsword/axe?
In terms of spell selection, how do people feel about confining those spell choices to simply the ones NOT available to scrolls? Lots of Mirror Image scrolls available, so why choose it for your limited spell economy? I think I may be overthinking this, or am being way too "thrifty," I think is the polite word. Or, both. Interested in people's thoughts.
This, but instead running only one level of Cleric, or even 9 pally, and dual wielding short swords(optional), so I can pick up savage attacker and a 2nd feat.
Hope you don’t mind the unrelated question, love your videos. Do you think this multi class could work; 6 swordsbard, 4 rogue for extra bonus action, and 2 fighter for action surge. Then dual wielding deva’s mace with the dual wielder feat, so if I calculated correctly, that’s 2 attacks / action + 1 attack each for the 2 bonus actions. Each doing like 10-44 damage most of which is radiant. Or am I just overthinking and a Bardadin dual wielding deva’s mace would just be better?
I did this build on my current honor mode run but with an archer. It’s good for that. Probably would be good for melee as well. Just respec later to have fighter lead for heavy armor proficiency
i swapped to have 16 dex and 14 con; now my party is almost always bunched up at the top of the initiative order and im not really ever hurting for HP, so i think thats the more optimal stat configuration. 14 dex just isnt impactful enough, and 16 con isnt necessary.

Can I still get aura of hate if I oathbreak early? Or are the skills based on level? Because I'm trying to play the evil rout while joining Minthara and I really don't want to proceed any further if getting the absolute mark breaks my oath in the proccess

Both! Do whatever you like the appeal of more :) or! Do both - one on one character, and the other on a companion. Swap them if you like the Bardadin more

This way we keep both war cleric extra attacks on bonus actions, paladin's smithes and extra attacks and bard's flourishes and bardic inspirations refreshing on a short rest bc of bard level 5. You could also go 6 paladin/4 bard if you needed aura of protection or 4 paladin 6 bard fo more spells, and in this way the only thing that gets lost is warlock's extra damage with pact bound weapon, but i think.that flourishes make up for that and we get also 2 feats instead of one
You really overvalue the Everburn Blade. It is just a greatsword dipped in fire. Pretty much any +1 2 handed weapon is better than it because they are dippable to get the same effect.
I never take Greatweapon Master because I always have to turn it off due to the hit chance penalty when facing armored enemies, which just makes the feat rather useless. Sure, it's great vs. trivial enemies, but then those can't hurt your party either and they're just trash, so who cares it takes a couple extra turns to kill the pack of trash enemies?!
Hi Nice build but for me I think you can just stay at 6 level of paladin and add 1 level in warlock only for the feat add. There you loose 2 feat and I think it's way too much. And honestly the 7th level of pal is not that interesting.
Game of the year edition will likely readd a ton of removed content like paladin diety options, but i’m not sure when that will release. I just know they did a similar thing for DoS2

I’m playing a war cleric/swords bard/vengeance paladin right now and absolutely destroying everything.
I would like to see you make a 4 class multiclass build. just because I think that would be neat.
The only ones I can think of are:
3 thief rogue / 5 gloom stalker ranger / 2 fighter / 2 barbarian - burst melee physical damage
2 tempest cleric / 2 fighter / 1 wizard / 7 storm sorcerer - electric + cold Spellcaster with extra action / twin spell and ability to learn any scrolls

I say forget about warlock lvl3 and instead get 3 lvls on thief for the bonus actions, wich allows you to use more smites or even attack more using war priest charges.
I want to ask how you are dealing with that War Priest bug when (if you have bonus action and charge avaible) game forcing you to do War Priest bonus attack before an Extra Attack (from level 5 Paladin).
It happend to me all the time. Respecing fixed it, but after a long rest it brokes again.
Finally I gave up and replace War Cleric with a Light one in a mix.
I'm a week late but my favorite build is 5pala 7 war cleric and had the same problem. I respec at withers the first 5 levels into paladin getting the extra attack before the war priest cleric charges and that fixed it for me

at 38:38 when you bind the balduran giantslayer the damage actually (visible) goes down !! cos your charisma is lower then your strength (with the elixir), though you sayed it doesnt effect it???
Hey man, love the build! Just wanted to ask, though, in case I'm missing something.
The Everburn greatsword is only a fire greatsword, so you're not getting the magical +1 bonus to attack/damage that you'd get for "dipping" a +1 weapon in a candle.
Is there something special about Everburn that pushes it ahead of a regular +1 Greatsword/axe?
In terms of spell selection, how do people feel about confining those spell choices to simply the ones NOT available to scrolls?
Lots of Mirror Image scrolls available, so why choose it for your limited spell economy?
I think I may be overthinking this, or am being way too "thrifty," I think is the polite word. Or, both. Interested in people's thoughts.

This, but instead running only one level of Cleric, or even 9 pally, and dual wielding short swords(optional), so I can pick up savage attacker and a 2nd feat.

You don't have to fight ansur to get the helmet of balduran, just simply don't interact with ansurs corpse.
This is another way to use Shadowheart. As a Dark Justiciar Knight. As the knight that killed the nightsong
I would stick with 6 lv into paladin and 4 into warlock for additional feat. I don't think so extra movement is worth it unless you go with polearms
Hope you don’t mind the unrelated question, love your videos. Do you think this multi class could work; 6 swordsbard, 4 rogue for extra bonus action, and 2 fighter for action surge. Then dual wielding deva’s mace with the dual wielder feat, so if I calculated correctly, that’s 2 attacks / action + 1 attack each for the 2 bonus actions. Each doing like 10-44 damage most of which is radiant. Or am I just overthinking and a Bardadin dual wielding deva’s mace would just be better?
I did this build on my current honor mode run but with an archer. It’s good for that. Probably would be good for melee as well. Just respec later to have fighter lead for heavy armor proficiency
Still have my hopes for transmog or some outfit system to make dark knight in glory.
Why not just take the last level in warlock and get an extra feat?
i swapped to have 16 dex and 14 con; now my party is almost always bunched up at the top of the initiative order and im not really ever hurting for HP, so i think thats the more optimal stat configuration. 14 dex just isnt impactful enough, and 16 con isnt necessary.

Can I still get aura of hate if I oathbreak early? Or are the skills based on level? Because I'm trying to play the evil rout while joining Minthara and I really don't want to proceed any further if getting the absolute mark breaks my oath in the proccess

Both! Do whatever you like the appeal of more :) or! Do both - one on one character, and the other on a companion. Swap them if you like the Bardadin more

This way we keep both war cleric extra attacks on bonus actions, paladin's smithes and extra attacks and bard's flourishes and bardic inspirations refreshing on a short rest bc of bard level 5. You could also go 6 paladin/4 bard if you needed aura of protection or 4 paladin 6 bard fo more spells, and in this way the only thing that gets lost is warlock's extra damage with pact bound weapon, but i think.that flourishes make up for that and we get also 2 feats instead of one

You really overvalue the Everburn Blade. It is just a greatsword dipped in fire. Pretty much any +1 2 handed weapon is better than it because they are dippable to get the same effect.

Also, after respèc, you could do 1 lock, 1 cleric, 1 pal. You'd lose Avenger, but gain 20 ASI with GWM

Yup! I did it in the video just yesterday!
I never take Greatweapon Master because I always have to turn it off due to the hit chance penalty when facing armored enemies, which just makes the feat rather useless.
Sure, it's great vs. trivial enemies, but then those can't hurt your party either and they're just trash, so who cares it takes a couple extra turns to kill the pack of trash enemies?!
Why would I spend gold? When I always use Astrion and rob shopkeepers.

When you take Pact of the Blade in Warlock, it makes your melee attacks scale with CHA instead of STR

Nice build but for me I think you can just stay at 6 level of paladin and add 1 level in warlock only for the feat add. There you loose 2 feat and I think it's way too much. And honestly the 7th level of pal is not that interesting.

Finding out by accident that there IS a way to save scum on honor mode was game saving

I was really disappointed they took Bane out of the full game as a deity option; Early Access had some great "Paladin of Bane" dialogues.
Game of the year edition will likely readd a ton of removed content like paladin diety options, but i’m not sure when that will release. I just know they did a similar thing for DoS2
