I wouldn't really say Beast Rider "killed" The Golden Axe series. It wasn't really even alive by that point and was just an attempted resurrection that failed. All had been quiet on that series' front for ages, it'd come and gone because there was nothing else to do with it.
I’d love to see a video about games that pleasantly surprised you. For example, I rented James Bond 007: Nightfire after being disappointed with Agent Under Fire and The World is Not Enough. Unlike those games, Nightfire was AMAZING.

Golden axe would be, potentially, the toughest update of all time.it’s just a beat-em-up, but with more ideas than almost any of game of the era. Like every screen of that game “suggests” something about that world. And that’s why it’s so great. But to EXPLAIN any of it would be wrong, in my mind.

I HATE Shinobi on ps2. No matter how many times I tried, I'd inevitably end up killing every enemy then get lost in the levels and die from my sword constantly draining my health. Having a weapon drain health can be a fun mechanic, but not when it's your main weapon and you have no choice.
Brink for me. It looked cool and had some fun parkour gameplay but I honestly can't remember anything about it. Don't think I even finished it. Was letdown by how the story structure was handled.

Totally agree on Golden Axe. I tried to go back and replay it last year and I couldn't get further then an hour in. Wanted to love it so much, but it just fell short.
Two games I hate that everybody (or at least the vast, vast majority of people) else loves are Final Fantasy 7 and Outer Wilds. I tried playing Final Fantasy 7 on 3 or 4 different occasions and I just got bored every time. Outer Wilds is the only game I've ever refunded on Steam.
You and everyone else. I think that it used to be the highest grossing movie of all-time has to be some sort of conspiracy theory, right? There are maybe five people alive who actually love that movie. And yet, the trailer for the next one got a HUGE amount of views! Where are these people?!
I liked the parrying and evade mechanics in Golden Axe Beastrider but hated the fact that if you get hit even once your Titan Bonus that you've been grinding on is reset and you basically have to start over again. That was always a drag.

@@jimbones0 Yes, I did. While I have a lot of fond memories with the Ninja Gaiden games (Both Classic and Modern), there's just something about The Messenger that doesn't flow as well as the older ninja games for me.
@@ozloner8777 Listen, you don't want to know how long my first playthrough took me, I was VERY bad at it. I can tell you I died 1800 times! But the art, the music, the way the game played, the story, all of it kept me addicted. So I wish it had an easy mode. However, I eventually got good enough that I was able to get the achievement for beating it in under three hours. Since you have a love for classic 2D Gaiden you should find Cyber Shadow a lot easier than I did on your first playthrough. The most underrated part of Cyber Shadow is its story, I think it's wonderful, pay attention to it.
Gonna get hell for this. But Xenoblade Chronicles. I was super excited for this coming off of the Xenosaga trilogy, but it was some pseudo single player MMO style filled with side quests that are completely pointless for world building. Characters and world are great but the battle system ruins it for me
well i'm the same as you mate i tried and well still trying to play and finish Xenoblade 1 but man it doesn't click at all with me it's just really not fun to me which sucks cos the story characters and world itself is really solid but man the gameplay kills it for me tho what's funny is i also played Xenoblade X on Wii U and found it to be a much better game in almost everyway (well expect story that part was kinda meh tho it had much better side quest) and that game is the black sheep of the series
I always only rented movie tie in games. Except for Golden Eye didn't even try renting it my dad bought it for us and we played it together a lot and he didn't game besides Wolf3d, and Duke Nukem 3d
For me it was SimCity in 2013. I grew up on the Sim games and loved almost all of them, but SimCity '13 was the worst of gaming at the time. It shrank map sizes to make cities absurdly small and forced always online DRM for single player content (because everyone loves that) that rendered the game unplayable for weeks after launch. SimCity was once THE simulation franchise on PC but that game killed it and we haven't gotten another SimCity since.
Capcom Fighting Evolution looks like one of those ROM hack games you'd find on the net and everyone who would play it, praises it for being a good ROM hack. But it's an official product from Capcom themselves so it gets judged to a higher standard and falls short of being considered acceptable at best.
NES Boy and his Blob. My parents bought it for my birthday and spent £40+ pounds which was a lot of money in the early 90’s. I played it for 10 minutes, didn’t like the graphics and didn’t understand what the fuck was going on and never touched it again. I also past on the original Legend of Zelda because I preferred the box art! What was I thinking?!? 🤦🏻♂️
I just could not get into FF XV. The fact that the dlc isn't on the disk and required a download means that I probably need to suffer through it at some point but talk about soulless. The open stretches of map with nothing to do killed my momentum
I remember watching Golden Axe trailers and review on GameTrailers and ScrewAttack when it was first announced. How the times have changed 😢 But great video series! Please do more and possibly games you hate from each consoles uwu
Killer Instinct for Snes! Wait, here me out. I played it on release in 94 'ish and was having fun with it at my friends home. Okay great, but whats this feeling? Suddenly, I get a headache and feel naseous. I went home sick and proceeded to have a full blown flu for 2 weeks. Now, I tie that little black cartridge to my flu. These 2 things have become perversely linked in my mind. Cant look at that cart withoutva twinge from my stomach.
Haha I barely remember the game at all but I played through Avatar around when it came out. Got it for my PS3 couple years back and played a bit of it again. Wasn’t good enough to keep to keep playing.
I wouldn't necessarily say I "Hate" this game, moreso I was Disappointed/Bored by it. Little Big Planet I wanted to give the Series a try, so I picked up the PSP Game, and I LOVE the PSP, so I thought I was giving it the best chance I could, but MAN was it Bland! And kinda Clunky too
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring on PS2 was a huge let down for me. At the time, I didn't know anything about the hit or miss aspect of movie tie-in games, so I came in with expectations that it would be just like the movie. Boy was I ever wrong.
I had to play Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 9 both twice, because I just couldn't get into them. IDK if I hatted them but I was definitely dissapointed. Second time around with both, I was hooked!
That very same thing happened to me with Kingdom Hearts and Chain of Memories. Chain of Memories is now my favorite of the series, but I hated it the first time I tried it.
I tried thinking of a game I hate but I can't think of anything lol surprised nothing really comes to mind. I feel I'm having trouble remembering stuff I hated when I was younger because now I make sure to only get games I'm interested in and it only goes as far as me thinking a game was just eh

@@jimbones0 Yes, I did. While I have a lot of fond memories with the Ninja Gaiden games (Both Classic and Modern), there's just something about The Messenger that doesn't flow as well as the older ninja games for me.
I didn't like Messenger either. However, I love Cyber Shadow, it's now one of my favorite games of all time.
@@charoleawood I haven't gotten the chance to play that yet. How long is that game in your playthrough?
@@ozloner8777
Listen, you don't want to know how long my first playthrough took me, I was VERY bad at it.
Characters and world are great but the battle system ruins it for me
well i'm the same as you mate
i tried and well still trying to play and finish Xenoblade 1 but man it doesn't click at all with me it's just really not fun to me which sucks cos the story characters and world itself is really solid but man the gameplay kills it for me
tho what's funny is i also played Xenoblade X on Wii U and found it to be a much better game in almost everyway (well expect story that part was kinda meh tho it had much better side quest) and that game is the black sheep of the series
I always only rented movie tie in games. Except for Golden Eye didn't even try renting it my dad bought it for us and we played it together a lot and he didn't game besides Wolf3d, and Duke Nukem 3d
@HappyConsoleGamer, I love your content. It always brightens my day. Thank you so much for uploading!
Golden Axes looks decent, I think I'll add it to the collection. 🤣
I can feel your anger. I gives you focus. Makes you stronger.
I love it when John says 'time'

@@t.fernbach602 yes 😁
Magic carpet for Sega Saturn. I couldn’t stand it for a minute back then. Returned it right away
Nintendo needs to release (Hook) on the SNES classics. It's one of my favorite platformers ever
Nintendo doesn't own that IP I'm sure it's Sony
I'd prefer Hookhausen
It was surprisingly popular to hate Avatar. Good film.
Hair looking very dapper Johnny!
Woot! Thanks Johnny!
I absolutely hated final fantasy 15. I was so hyped and then it was pretty meh... Still regret killing this crappy turtle boss for the Platin trophy
I just could not get into FF XV. The fact that the dlc isn't on the disk and required a download means that I probably need to suffer through it at some point but talk about soulless. The open stretches of map with nothing to do killed my momentum
The Not-So-Happy Console Gamer is back at it again!
I remember watching Golden Axe trailers and review on GameTrailers and ScrewAttack when it was first announced. How the times have changed 😢 But great video series! Please do more and possibly games you hate from each consoles uwu
Killer Instinct for Snes! Wait, here me out. I
played it on release in 94 'ish and was having fun with it at my friends home.
Saga frontier: remember buying it after all the square rpgs. Hated it. Had no clue where to go
I wouldn't necessarily say I "Hate" this game, moreso I was Disappointed/Bored by it.
Little Big Planet
I wanted to give the Series a try, so I picked up the PSP Game, and I LOVE the PSP, so I thought I was giving it the best chance I could, but MAN was it Bland! And kinda Clunky too
Wow dude, you look so much better now than ten years ago!
We need that Legend of Dragoon Remake, Remaster or even just a Port for the PS5!
Love your videos
Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg will forever piss me off.
I wouldn’t say I hate them but Resident Evil games with the tank controls, bad camera and crappy menus make them unplayable for me.
I appreciate the old ones but yea I'm only playing the remakes from here on out just way better idc what anyone says
Love tank controls, love pre-rendered backgrounds, love the inventory system in those classic RE games
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring on PS2 was a huge let down for me. At the time, I didn't know anything about the hit or miss aspect of movie tie-in games, so I came in with expectations that it would be just like the movie. Boy was I ever wrong.
I know the feeling thinking it was gonna be like playing the film so epic....
@@loricbrandt I had to play that on PS2, the GBA version was a little too weird 😅
I tried thinking of a game I hate but I can't think of anything lol surprised nothing really comes to mind. I feel I'm having trouble remembering stuff I hated when I was younger because now I make sure to only get games I'm interested in and it only goes as far as me thinking a game was just eh
Yessss dude! I love these types of videos man! Thank you for doing another one of these! A game I cannot stand is Andy Macdonald skateboarding for the dreamcast. Good lord the game was absolutely terrible. Trying to do any trick was like super sticky, if that makes any sense. The entire control of the game just felt gross you know? Like there was Tony Hawk Underground but I got Andy Macdonald Skateboarding. Haha good grief!
Quest 64. I played that all the way through cause it was the only game I had at the time, it was like torturing myself. I'll never get that time of my youth back
Have u done any videos on Trails Of Cold Steel? I'm gonna start my 1st ever journey into the 1st one on ps4. Can u please do a video on it?
Haa ha, this was an enjoyable rant to view, I hope you are feeling better now. :_)
