Thanks for taking the cover off of the 2 PCIE m.2 slots. Couldn't find a solid picture of what exactly was under there, but you showed it clearly in your vid!
SAME!!! Gosh how I hate when manufacturers have fancy websites and pictures and all, but they don't manage to show the product in detail. It claims M.2 connectors and you cant see them! Same with the power rating for CPU's. I got burned on that one when I got into AMD FX.
Same. Microcenter has a great combo deal right now but I couldn't tell from the specs if I could add 2 m.2 drives or not. Thanks for showing that.
@@4petessake_ttv same, do you know if they are pcie gen 4 compatible?
@@dorf33 The specs say: SuperSpeed Storage:1*PCIe 5.0 x4 + 2*PCIe 4.0 x4 M.2 Connectors.. I have 1 Samsung 980 1 TB, 1 Samsung 980 2 TB and 1 Samsung 970 1 tb. All I believe are PCIe 4.
@@peterhess4471 alr, thanks so much
Thanks for video! I want to buy it, and it was really helpful to se it from close!
Cheers
Great unboxing mate!
Appreciate the indepth look including what's in the box, just got the board and hoping it'll be good and I realised it's my first time getting a board with wifi built in and I had no idea if it came with an antennae already or not so I'm glad to see it does! Weird design though, I thought they all looked like the ones of small form factor PCs, I guess it's for better positioning?
I think it is also does it look cool.
Thanks for your video 👍 after a good look I can buy it 👌
Great video. Thanks
I thought I was going crazy when I saw only 1 m.2, but I’m glad all my expensive storage is being put to use in my new pc :)
Do you need to plug the wireless antenna to use the bluetooth feature of the board? Or is that just for wifi specifically?
Just Wifi. The antenna help the range. When I am setting up for someone I can see my wireless with out plugging in the antenna.
may sound like a noob but is there a 3 pin 5v argb connector to connect my rgb fans up to this? or do you just use the VD G connector?
The fans should mention what connector it needs to connect to. Some have an adapter to connection to the correct connector depending on mobo manufacture.
How many 4 pin fan headers and Rgb headers does this mobo have? I have 8 Rgb fans 2 of them being a part of the cpu cooler (peerless assassin argb 120 se) and don’t know if this motherboard will have enough headers. (I have the Arctic p12 rgb fans and I’m pretty sure they daisy chain so that’s convenient)
1 x CPU fan header
1 x water cooling CPU fan header
2 x system fan headers
1 x system fan/water cooling pump header
2 x addressable LED strip headers
2 x RGB LED strip headers
Just got this motherboard, do I need to install certain drivers to access WiFi? Or can I just insert the Antenna and i'll have Wifi acces right away? Tried putting on the antenna and it isn't recognizing any wifi
You will need to download and see install the drivers from the support page for the motherboard.
Having trouble. I can't figure out what screws to use to secure the motherboard in the case. Do they come with the motherboard or the tower and if they come with the tower how do I know which screws to use? First build and between wires and screws I'm pretty lost...
They come with the tower. Usually, the manual of the case will tell you what screws to use.
@@GrayaOverload Thanks I'll read it over again see what I missed.
You can also check the screws that came with the case to see which one's thread into the case correctly. Just don't force them and cross thread them.
Would this motherboard be fine handling a 7800x3d? Also how long was setting everything up after the build and the wifi since I saw people complaining about it in the reviews (I ordered everything already so I'm paranoid lol) thx btw
Should be fine. I have a friend that is planning this mobo with a 7800x3d. I would say if you had windows install USB ready and pre download the wireless drivers to a USB drive 30 mins to an hour. It isn't too bad to get the wifi working,
I had the device plugged into the network after I installed windows for this setup. I do get that may not be possible and in that case pre-downloading the driver will help get you up and running. If you are installing windows 11 that requires a Microsoft account which requires the network, there are ways around that.
@@GrayaOverloadalrighty thanks 🙏
My local micro center has this motherboard in a bundle with a 7800x3d and 32gb g.skill ram for $499. Do you think it's worth it? Also i heard some stories with slow boot times have you had any issues?
That is a good deal. There is a slow boot time the first boot for the memory training, after the first boot it was fine.
@@GrayaOverload cool thx for the quick reply i am definitely considering this as i am way due for an upgrade lol.
Same, the only thing holding me back from getting the bundle are the reviews for the MOBO but the reviews on it seem really mixed. Probably gonna give it a shot and, if it doesn't work, I'll just return it.
@@remipennel121 I think with all tech you have to be open to a RMA or returns.
i just purchased this bundle, it is a killer deal. easily saves $150-200. this is my first pc build so im also skeptical bc of the mixed reviews and horror stories, but the deal was too good to pass up. i'll just return it if it doesn't go as planned
Hi, does it have an connection for argb? I can't figure out what they are if there is
Yes, there are 2 x addressable LED strip headers there is also 2 x RGB LED strip headers
I got the V2. Not going to lie: I wish there were more audio jacks like there are on Asus boards, and more high speed USB ports would be nice, but otherwise, it's a decent board for the price.
Can you show the build process with this board?
I will have a video out this week on it.
how is the boot time with you , i reading that most AM5 Boards has a very slow boot up time
First boot is slow as it does memory training, very slow. After the first boot it is fine. I don't have an exact time as this is a machine I build for a friend.
@@GrayaOverload ohh !!! , thank you , so its a one time issue , i thought its a constantly occurring issue .
Hardware unboxed made a video comparing entry level B650 motherboards, and the gigabyte motherboards had the fastest boot up time from power on to windows at 24 seconds, compared to the slowest which were the MSI motherboards at around 52 seconds, so these boards will have pretty fast boot up times from what I’ve gathered.
really need help, my pc is booting up for the first time, idk what it could be but im think its the f panel ? any ideas
It isn't booting up? I would go thru and check all connections. more information would be helpful.
Cool Review!
Can you plug in the DP in 1 Monitor and the HDMI into another monitor for dual monitor?
Thanks, I don't have this board with me anymore as it was a build for someone. I did some reading and information out there states yes it can support both.
Is this micro atx or atx? I got the micro atx version by a mistake, should i bother returning it and getting the atx board?
This was an atx version. What version of n is more of a preference and if it has all the features you need. If it does and you got it for a good price then I would keep it.
@@GrayaOverload ok nice. Think I'll just keep it then. As long as there are no known errors or bad performance with the matx:)
What's the bit/screwdriver you used to take the M2 drive cover off on this board? Nothing I have seems to catch on it
According to my ifixit kit I used the J0. In the past I have also used a jewelry kit screwdriver to remove it.
@@GrayaOverload Thanks for the reply. Using the same bits from the same kit tried the J0 and J00 can't get 2 of the screws undone still
@@dymuda9431 I did have to put a lot of down pressure on one of the screws to get it started. I don't get why they have to get them so tight
is this a pcie 5 sir? Im planning to buy this motherboard and get a ryzen 7 7700 and a rx 7700 xt gpu
I double checked and the gigabyte website says pcie 4.
Did the tools not come in the box? Did they have the screws to attach the MOBO to the case?
What tools? Screws for the motherboard to the case come with the case.
@@GrayaOverload ur right. I dont know why i thought they came with the motherboard.
Would this work well for a 7900 XT and 7800X3D? Nice video by the way.
It should and thank you.
Absolutely! Built one for my brother who got a combo with this board + 32GB ddr5 6000 (I think gskill ripjaws) + 7800X3D (all for 500 around christmas). He has a 7800XT in there, but I tried out a 7900XT myself and that card is just perfect specs for RIGHT now. Beautiful specs; especially if you're getting one for $700 (I got one a few months ago for 710). Compared to what you get for $700 with Nvidia (4070 Ti if you're lucky to get one with a rebate or on sale) it's ludicrous... You get like 80% more memory and 80% more memory bandwidth, along with nearly double the Cache (which just makes the effective bandwidth difference even more lopsided) and around 15% more raw performance. It doesn't play the nvidia-sponsored raytracing games as well as the 4070 TI (cyberpunk is basically the only one tha tmatters - and there are some games that prefer AMD like Hogwarts), BUT the 4070Ti cannot play those games on max settings with ray tracing ANYWAY due to the memory limitations!! I've tested this all out myself and it was really frustrating. The 20GB of 20Gbps speed, 800GB/s bandwidth, 80MB infinity cache (+ 6MB "traditional" L2 cache - which , btw, 6MB is the same amt of cache that the rtx 3080 has TOTAL) will be good for the toughest games for several years to come and leave you with enough extra in most games to mod to your heart's desire.
I had to return my 7900XT and go with an Nvidia card (4070 Super is all I could get with that $$) for reasons I won't get into, but I WISH I could have kept the 7900XT... So bad. 4070Super is a great card, but I don't think anyone should buy one (unless they have to for some reason) due to the memory interface. 12GB is NOT enough for top-end games even today, let alone in a year or two. I've had Nvidia for the last 3 cards over 8 years with this system I'm still using, and right now I have to say AMD is just the CLEAR winner unless you're playing at 1080p only and constantly playing high refresh rate ray tracing games. ESP if you wanna play at 4k, AMD is king atm.
@@intuit13 Totally agree bro, AMD is King. I think the 7900xt is gonna have some great longevity into the future. I'm thinking of saving up and getting myself one.
would it be an overkill for r5 7600x? please suggest some matx / atx mobo for 7600x if u can
No this would not be overkill I think it would be a good option.
It seems to be a great mobo at a decent price but i really thought we we finally moving away from the "GAMER" & "GAMING" branding. Glad my case is windowless
Naming has not been their strong point.
Yep. Pretty cringe.
I hate the “gaming” branding because its either lazy or just misleading sometimes. How about making a motherboard with interesting color ways so people can decide what to use it for.
God bless
Any bios issues or coil whine ?
None that I saw. Will have a bios walk thru up this week.
Did the box have a safety tape? I just got mine and it didnt, i find that super weird.
I don't remember on this specific one. Looking back at the last few most haven't had security tape.
Seems to be normal these days.. I know back in the days that boxes where sealed.
I have the same motherboard will i have to use a usb drive to download the wifi drivers or will the wireless antena thing let me connect to my wifi i also have ethernet.... Im asking because i dont have another laptop or pc to do that. ( I downloaded windows with a friends help but theyr out of state )
You will need the driver for the wireless to get it working. If you can plug in the ethernet and get the wireless drivers that way.
@@GrayaOverload alright bro I appreciate it
Are the two lower M.2 slots Gen 4 ?
Yes they are gen 4
Can I/should I use an m.2 ssd with a heat sink with this motherboard?
You can. For this mobo after putting m.2 in you put the the cover back on that will act as the heatsink. I hope that makes sense.
Does it boot without a graphics card? I heard someone say amd ryzen 7 7700 doesn't boot without a graphics card, is it true? Please let me know, I'm planning to buy to buy one, but stuck with this question 😢
It will boot without a GPU. the AMD 7000 series has an integrated GPU on it. The one exception is CPU with a F, like the 7500F will not have a GPU on the CPU.

Gigabyte B650 gaming x ax VS gigabyte B650M x ax which one is better ? i am confused plzz help me .
There is different is the B650 is a full atx board and the b650M is the micro atx board. Smaller board looks to have a bit different on the internal connectors. The big difference is the VRM, I would go with the full ATX board for that reason. The b650 gaming x ax also has a new version b650 gaming x v2.
@@GrayaOverload basically B650 gaming x ax is better than B650m ...
Yes
Hi man, I see there are differente revisions of this mobo, can you tell me how can I know which one I bought? And one more thing, what was the exact Ram memory u used with this board? Thank you
So, it should be screen printed on the board. if it is the newer version then it will have V2 in the name. Also, the box would have v2 on it if you bought it brand new. There is also a rev number and if I remember correctly bottom left next when in a normal case orientation. I don't remember exactly what ram, but it was in this video ruclips.net/video/aWOYvBK_HPQ/видео.html
There is also a new video build I did with the v2 version.
@@GrayaOverload Oh I see g.skill flare x5, I actually thought about buying that one, thank you. I don't see the point of all this revisions, just makes me feel nervous that I'll install wrong bios...
Bios update should have checks to prevent flashing the wrong version, I say should. I am guessing you are going to use windows and there are tools from these mobo manufactures like gigabyte @BIOS that if I remember correctly is in their control center, it will help walk you thru the bios updates.
@@GrayaOverload Ok, thank you very much man
your welcome
what memory ram is best for thisother board? 5600 or 6000 and above?
Great question. I didn't have enough memory to test what is the best. I ordered 6000 and it worked. I hope other can add what worked for them.
6000mhz would be the way to go. Wouldnt even bother with 5600Mhz or less.
please I need you advice betwen b650 eagle ax and b650 gaming x ax? wich one is the best?
Very close. I would go with the b650 gaming x ax as it has a few upgrades like wired network on it.

does anyone know the difference between this and the V2 version?
I don't know exactly; I haven't seen anything saying the differences. I suspect there are modifications or part on the board changed depending on supply etc.
This motherboard has Bluetooth right ? and what's the antenna for?
Yes, the antenna is for Wi-Fi.
Does it come with screws to mount it on the case ?mine didnt
No, the case should come with screws to mount the mobo.
hey itd be nice to know if it shiped with tpm built in

I don't have my hands on the board to directly compare. One question I have is the air flow over the chip good or is something obstructing it?
@@GrayaOverload the GPU it's all over it ....but nothing really you can do about that , i think to mount it vertically but , i test without the GPU completly and .....66-68 degreess ...IN IDLE ! so not a much diffrence horrible situation i try now some silicon termal pads made it even worst !

Yes
Is this board and a 7800x3d better than say a z790 and i513600k

Can it handle 9 7900x?
It should be able to. Didn't have one to test.
Wait so how do you put wifi ?
The wifi is built in. The attenas attaches to the backplate area of the motherboard.
Is it worth it
For an entry board, can't believe I am saying that for $180 dollars, it is good. So far I am impressed.
Does this support nvme?
Yes
ABSOLUTELY CANNOT get these fucking screws out. None of the 3 on the board (for the 1 slot above or 2 below). Any harder and I will strip the screw and/or cause shavings to fall on the mobo. This is absolutely ridiculous. I've seen other threads on linus tech tips, etc. with the same thing. same board. wtf gigabyte............................................... sitting here with the cpu installed.... sitting there like that. waiting for nvme to be installed so i can install my giant air cooler. this is horrible
I don't think this is just a Gigabyte issue. Even my framework laptop had screws to tight and stripped. Gamers nexus has had videos with prebuilds with them to tight or to loose. This is a problem that needs to be addressed by these companies.
How did you end up getting the screws out? I'm having the same issue on this board
@@dymuda9431 I guess I did not have the "right" screwdriver, even though I had like a dozen of them next to me (old ones from who knows where...ya know?). I ended up calling my dad and he brought over another bag o' screwdrivers and one of those happened to fit perfectly. I came across a thread that said you needed a size 1 or 0 (OP ended up saying size 0 did the trick) phillips head (at least I'm pretty sure it was a PH...). Once I got the "right" one it came out right away. Either that, or I REALLY loosened it up by force and it just happened to come out once I went to the new screwdriver.
tldr: try a size 1 or size 0 and it should come out easier.
This board sucks, very loud and annoying coil whine sound. Go with other brad.
curious what parts you selected (PSU, GPU, etc.). I didn't have the coil whine.
@@GrayaOverload I disconnect the GPU so the coil whine wasn't from there. The PSU was a RM850e, i returned thjs PSU and changed to the RMX850X SHIFT and the coil whine remains. The sound comes from around the RAM and from what i read its a common problem with gigabyte boards. You can get lucky and have no coil whine but i would stay clear from this brand.
@@diogosilva9492 Thanks for the info. I have had coil wine over the year with many brands and parts, I order from places with good return policies.
