      Corn starch can help to lessen the water from tofu... because tofu always release water even when after cook...but I put it when it is about I take out from the pan or wook.....I make it as a sauce

    Beautiful food! Can you recommend a non-oil method for cooking stir fry, would broth substation work?

    • @foodland6653
      @foodland6653  2 года назад +3

      Thank you for your comment!
      Great question, you can use broth instead oil, however, you would need extra time to stir it and let the broth evaporate, it could be a time consuming process but can certainly consider it.
      2nd option is bake it in the oven for approximately 25-30 mins on 400 degrees C. Or until it turns golden brown or get its crispy texture!
      Hope this helps! Thank you again. ❤️

    Very delicious. Thanks for posting! I see a lot of oil and cornstarch were used in this recipe. Those are not very healthy or needed. Cornstarch and oil are high in calories so to limit calories I excluded cornstarch, sugar, sesame oil and I added sesame seeds instead and used an oil spray to fry the tofu and the veggies (chickpea tofu also works very well in this recipe!). I'll try air fried tofu next time and use stevia in place of sugar.
    Overall, it's an amazing plant-based dish and can be weight-loss friendly if you adjust it a bit and substitute the unhealthy ingredients. It kept me full for a while.
    If you use frozen broccoli, it may lose its green color but still tastes good. Fresh is better.

    • @foodland6653
      @foodland6653  Год назад +1

      Thanks for your feedback and suggestions to make it more healthier, yes air frying is a good option to use less oil and make them crispier as well. Also, sugar can be substituted by honey, agave, maple syrup or such natural ingredients or simply skip it. Sesame seeds can be a substitute to sesame oil however I like the taste of oil than seeds, just saying 😄
      Thanks again, stay healthy! 🤩🙏🏼

    • @foodland6653
      @foodland6653  3 месяца назад

      Soy sauce is a fermented soy produce, it contains antioxidants, which can help protect cells from damage. It also has antimicrobial properties that may help with digestion. It gives umami flavor to the dish and using in moderation is recommended. You can always use low sodium soy sauce or substitute available in the market or choose to completely avoid consuming it. 👍🏼🙏🏼♥️

    This is the reason why people from India 🇮🇳 have the highest case of blood sugar in the world
    May increase blood sugar levels
    For this reason, cornstarch is digested very quickly in your body, which may lead to spikes in your blood sugar levels ( 4 ). Therefore, cornstarch may not be a great addition to your diet if you have type 2 diabetes or are hoping to better manage your blood sugar levels

    • @foodland6653

      Thanks for sharing cornstarch info here. It can be avoided and tofu can be covered in rice flour, corn flakes (powder) etc. or cooked as is.
