Dude this recipe is so good, I added some onions and subbed the mushroom powder with chicken bouillon and then added a bit of oyster sauce and red chilis. Turned out delicious
I made this tonight only another recipe had marinating the tofu which now, I think is unnecessary. It made it harder to coat with corn starch. Your method is great!
Thank you so much for this wonderful recipe! I made this today but added fresh shiitake, carrots and water chestnuts. Yum, yum, yum!! Also, I didn’t have the same mushroom powder used in the video so i used the Trader Joe’s mushroom powder seasoning i have and it worked! For all my fellow shiitake lovers out there, you must try this recipe with fresh shiitakes. Mind-blowingly delicious 😋
Just had this for dinner & it was delicious & a hit with my husband ☺️ So happy I had all of the ingredients. Thank you for sharing it 💛 Update: Had it again with mushrooms & asparagus - love!!
I took a quick look at the recipe before lunch and thought I had all ingredients on hand, so I began the prep. Only when mixing the sauce ingredients did I realize I didn't have mushroom powder. I subbed a dash of a mushroom-based vegan "oyster" sauce, hoping that might substitute okay. It was delicious. I can only imagine how delicious the original recipe is. My non-vegan husband had been planning a different lunch for himself but decided this dish looked too good to miss. Luckily, I had made enough for him, too.
Just know this is going to be fabulous and fortunately I have all the ingredients. Suggest you add 1 tbsp of cornstarch to the sauce ingredients, as well as the sesame oil and toasted sesame seeds to the recipe ingredients. Thanks for sharing.
I followed your recipe without ginger but it still turn out great! Have pieces of tofu coated with corn starch is new to me and I enjoyed it very much. I came back to your video to check if I remember the recipe correctly since I am going to cook this dish for Korean audiences.Thank you for sharing!
Not sure what you’re using for ‘magic mushroom powder’. I’m getting ready to make this and plan to take 5-6 dried shiitake mushrooms and powder them in a (clean) coffee grinder that I only use for grinding certain spices and things like that. Fingers crossed!
@@danieldoesfood could you please tell us what else is in your magical mushroom powder? I'm dying to know ;). Thank you for this recipe I am very excited to try it tonight
of course! mushroom powder is kind of like msg. you can omit if you don’t have it or don’t like it. Same with rice wine, feel free to leave out if you don’t have it.
Outstanding....making this tomorrow....now subscribed, thank you!

the mushroom powder i use also has a little salt in it as well. So you could add salt to the powder or season accordingly.

@@HelloVanityy You can try to find it online. The brand I use is Po Lu Ku and it is their Mushroom Seasoning
Ha, ha, ha you made me laugh, fingers crossed. Me too I didn't get the mushrooms part.
Can I leave out sugar?
What is a good mushroom powder replacement?
Hopefully dried shiitake mushrooms are a good substitute for the powder.
Y’all how do I cook frozen broccoli. Should I steam it in the bag before stir frying
I hope you continue making videos someday! We miss you!

Thank you for your presentation but would be nice t ave instructions included
What can I sub the rice wine for? I accidentally grabbed rice vinegar 🥲
you can use dry sherry, sake, or just plain water.
We just kinda stir fried tofu using an Olive Oil spray
Magic mushroom powder? What the heck am I supposed to do with that instruction??
I don't have mushroom powder so I'll just use regular mushrooms.

Man I should’ve gone to your channel. I did mine but without frying the tofu.. and used oyster sauce instead. Bad idea. Oh well🤷♀️
I was paying $5 for this meal but not anymore.
You gonna cook like this you need to buy a wok.
nope. don't need to buy one. I already have one actually. The purpose was to show you that you can cook with whatever you have in the kitchen.
Ok fine the recipe is good... Ant i hate when people say quick and easy and start chopping garlic and ginger
That is one shiny forehead.
