Tofu Marinade (30 min in fridge): 1 tbs garlic powder 1tbs onion powder 1tsp smoked paprika 3 tbs sesame oil 3 tbs low sodium soy sauce Coat tofu in cornstarch and then air fry at 370 for 20 minutes.
@@renayusufova4584 Just add enough cornstarch to coat the tofu. You''ll notice, that Hank doesn't add much cornstarch, just sprinkles some on top. (For me, I sometimes roll the tofu in a bowl of cornstarch, dip in milk, egg or more sauce and roll once again in cornstarch). I'll try most recipe 'as written' the first time I try the recipe, then I'll personalize the recipe and make changes to suit my taste.
My Korean mother always froze the tofu first, thawed, drained, then pressed out the liquid. Freezing the tofu changes its texture so it's more dry and spongy, making it more crispy.
This was the first recipe I made using my IP air fryer lid, and came out great. I just made them a second time, and this time I cut the block of tofu into 16 pieces rather than 9. Instead of 20 minutes, I did 18 min; 1 less minute each side.
This is a great recipe. The only thing I do different is I leave the tofu in the bag then I put the cornstarch in the bag. This absorbs the cornstarch a lot better.
@@zocuad6710 yes but the cornstarch isnt there for tastte or to be absorbed in the marinade. its literally for the cripsy texture alone. so youre not achieving anything doing this
I used to put 5 books..for two hours on my tofu..the result was dried up tofu cubes...so dry thar the corn starch would come out of my mouth like a cloud..this us better!!
Great presentation of one of my favorite snacks... but it's great because you get right to it, no monologue, no banter before finally getting to the reason for the vid...you get right to it. That's a great presentation!! And delicious lookin' crispy tofu!!!! Thanx huge!!!
Great video. If you want a healthy version though, omit the extra oil as it's not needed to crisp the tofu in the air fryer. I add fresh ginger and garlic to mine and only one teaspoon of sesame oil and don't flip it in the air fryer because it's being evenly cooked all around since that's what an air fryer does!
Probably not the o lot one thinking this but I don’t see them enough: tofu press. They are amazing. The days is stacked plates and paper towels are over. Lovely recipe and thank you.
Tofu cooked with an air fryer always turns out delicious. I will often add seasonings and corn starch to the tofu before cooking in the air fryer. The corn starch adds a little bit of a crispy texture.

Just made this! 😋 I only substituted corn flour with rice flour because I didn’t have the former. It tastes like vegan chicken nuggets 🥰. Thank you for this amazing recipe
Just FYI if using extra virgin olive oil, keep in mind that temp should be 340 degrees or lower as beyond 350 is the smoke point which we want to avoid
The smoke point of a genuine Extra Virgin Olive Oil is 410°F so that means it's a great choice for all your cooking needs, whether you are deep frying, sauteeing or stir frying.
trying out this recipe! doctor said I need to go on a diet and decrease my meat intake due to kidney stones ! So I will be using this recipe more often ❤
I made this today and followed your directions nearly perfectly. I put half in the air fryer and half I fried in the skillet. I must say that the skillet fried were much better and less dry. I will keep the marinade recipe but skip the air fryer next time. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you. So delicious. You make it so easy to make. I love my air fryer it’s the best purchased I ever made. Hope you have more recipes for the air fryer. Best of health.

Yes that works really well. It soaks up flavour much better if it yas been frozen.

I'm gonna try that method once I whip up air fried tofu for the first time next week. Let y'all know how it turns out.

Thanks for your straightforward video and finally learned to air fry tofu and is my "go to" protein source now as I avoid meat and processed foods.

Just FYI if using extra virgin olive oil, keep in mind that temp should be 340 degrees or lower as beyond 350 is the smoke point which we want to avoid
In general, I dont fry things in low smoke point oils. Olive oil does best as a flavoring oil rather than cooking oil. You can still do it of course.
