Let's clear this thing for everyone. Bō was announced before nine sols but nine sols came out 1 month early. Bō is based on Japanese Shintoism and focuses more on platforming and arial combat. Where nine sols is chinese and parry focused. Both are two completely different game. And how do people think that a game can be made in 1 month?
@@chonkhampter oh i can see why, having cute animal based protagonists in a Metroidvania and based on Asia culture and mythology and releasing close together. They are very different though.
Plus nine sols is Taopunk, this is, as you said, shinto focused. Of course the two are similar (Japanese early culture is HEAVILY influenced by Chinese) but they are still different.
Idk why people are comparing this game to Nine Sols, there’s no sekiro-style deflecting which is what Nine Sols is proud of, the only thing that’s similar is the Asian theme, other than that this game is closer to Hollow Knight than Nine Sols
pacing, gamefeel, concept art, UI presentation, controls, all of them are very familiar to Nine Sols. There must be something common in development of both these games. Maybe art director or something
@@krzysztofswierzy4226 No as OP said, Bo is way more close to HK than Nine Sol. If you played both, it will jumps to your eyes pretty fast. Especially about gameplay.
Just my opinion but I’m enjoying this immensely compared to Nine Sols. Just the combat and movement feel more fluid to me. I wanted to love Nine Sols but just couldn’t get in to it but Bo on the other hand I’m absolutely loving!
I bought this game after seeing some article comparing it to Hollow Knight and it's really good and a lot of fun. It's very charming and I enjoy the puzzle/platform/combat but it does feel just a tiny bit incomplete. It's really wild to see someone perfecting it with no damage already so kudos for being a beast.
Don't know how you got through Sakura Shogun without taking damage, lol. I wasn't counting but it took me several attempts to beat him, if I had to estimate it was probably around 30 attempts before I finally took him down. I love this game, it's my favorite Metroidvania since Hollow Knight (that isn't Metroid). I feel like the story could have been told better but I can forgive that since it IS a Metroidvania, a genre centered around exploration and you have to look for the story. I wonder if this game will ever have a sequel or any followups, I like the lore of the game even if it's not as grand as, again, Hollow Knight's but I can definitely see myself becoming a fan if it is turned into a series.
@@Mike-hj7gg I took a look at it a while ago, didn't really interest me. I might look into it but I still stand by Bo being one of the best Metroidvanias I've played

Probably found it already but the Jorogumo boss is to the right of a Shrine in the red rock part of Kitsune Burrows. The shrine icon on the map is a bit too big and doesn't let you see that you can go right.

Thanks! It's not that long if you stay on top of him doing damage and the patterns of the alternate scenarios are always in the same order so you know what attack comes next

Very fun indeed. I thought Sakura Shogun would take me some time to defeat but damage-based Omamoris helped a lot!

There are 12 bosses
