When I was homeless I lived in my car. On cold nights, the rain was comforting. Didn't know how many times I'd hear the comforting sound of the rain on the car. Didn't realize I would miss it. Now I listen in my bed, with my wife. Helps sleep, reminds me of the hard times, makes you value the good times. Much love to anybody who has had to listen to this noise.

We were homeless once for 6 months. At least we had a car to live in. The only good part was when it rained. We slept well on those nights. Recommendation: just in case, make sure your car has tilt steering!
*edit* Just wanted to say thanks for the replies and for enjoying one of my childhood rain memories. There's actually a bit more to the story that I left out because I didn't want to make it too long. In a nutshell we discovered an abandoned farm house down the dirt road. The house was empty except for a red torn down sofa in one of the rooms. We were at the house when the storm began but it turned out not to be rain safe, the wind was spraying rain through all the broken windows so we decided to rush back to our car which was parked about roughly a mile down the dirt road. One thing I forgot to add is when most of us in the car fell asleep, I woke up after some time and noticed warm air coming from the front. At some point our sister-in-law had the engine running and turned on the car's heater. So we had a mix of warm air blowing from the heater, and cold air blowing through the tiny bit rolled down windows. Not sure if this was super important to tell but I thought I'd add it anyway. Reminds me when we were waiting on my dad and his brother who went on a beer run (blue laws) many years ago. My mom and my three older sisters, my sister-in-law and her two kids, we all waited in our family station wagon after we got surprised by a thunderstorm. This was a lonely backroad and we were parking on a dirt road next to the main road. There was corn fields and a huge forest behind it. It was a kind of creepy scenario. My mom would always pack blankets, towels (sometimes we waited at a pond or shallow river), snacks and drinks because these outings could take up to two hours and more. When the storm began we all retreated to the car since it also got dark quickly. The three oldest kids made a pretty comfortable bed in the back with blankets and towels. Me and the other two youngest got comfy in the backseat sharing a big blanket. My sister-in-law and my mom shared a blanket in the front seats. It was a hot summer day but the rain was very cold, cooling things down quite a bit. I was sitting on the right side and I had wrapped the ending of the blanket around me with only my eyes and nose peeking out and my head leaning between the backseat and the window. The storm was intense, the rain hitting the car's roof was so loud we had to yell otherwise you couldn't understand your own words. The car would occasionally shake a bit because of the strong wind. Surprisingly the thunder wasn't that loud but you could still hear it well enough. My mom told us to open the windows just a tiny crack because they were fogging up plus we were eight people in the car breathing, As soon as we opened the windows a cold but mild burst of wind filled the car and I snuggled up in my blanket even more. I loved it! After some time we stopped yelling and just let nature do the talking. The hypnotic sound of the rain hitting the roof, the deep growling thunder and the sharp howling wind was enough to put all of us to sleep after a bit. My dad and my uncle arrived way after midnight. They couldn't leave sooner because the storm and rainfall was just too severe. Anyway, this is one of my favorite rain moments from my childhood. Thanks for reading.

I had a car that was like this one (we got rid of it because of a oil leak. It was a really good car.) and there was a setting weather or not you wanted the top window to be window mode or normal car mode. It was really useful. The only problem was my mom wouldn’t put it on if we were driving with my dad.
This is how I imagine me and my crush would spend time together. With food, a good Netflix movie playing on the iPad, comfy blankets, cuddling together, and just enjoying each other’s company. One day!!

My daughter and her friends think it's so "fun" to sleep in the backseat of the car. They set blankets and make a pallet up. We have a very secluded driveway in our small hometown and they think it's the coolest thing ever. One day they will outgrow this we they get older so I let them have these memories and times now cuz I know it's not long til they want there privacy and space from mom n Dad lol 😆
What a cosy atmosphere in a comfortable campervan when it’s raining out side! The sound of the rain is really comforting and I wonder which instrument is used to produce this special sound effect. I’ve done this lots of times on long distance road trips. No sense in looking for a hotel, paying > $65, only to stay 9-12 hours! This car is large enough to be comfortable. In a 1988 Hyundai excel packed to the gills, I’d just recline in the driver’s seat. I saved a lot of $$$ that way.
I agree, i would also like to do it, but i have anxiety, and my thoughts of something bad happening and someone coming to my camping van and breaking the windows won't leave my head. Therefore im not doing it....

I listen to this for a few seconds and then I am a child trying to sleep in our car while we drive at night to a holiday home somewhere in Denmark. Since then this was the most relaxing noise I had ever heard: the rain on the car roof. I thought I would be the only one.

My advice bro. From personal experience, that is not a rabbit hole you want to get stuck in. Its a living nightmare. I say you should clear your mind. Write out your struggles. This has been my go to rain video for some time now. The sound is soothing, it's not repetitive and it doesn't have any loud random thunder that for me, would keep me awake. It's got the perfect comfort level of sound and ambience, in my opinion. It always helps me get a good sleep.

This is just perfect! I have trouble sleeping because of my housemate doing all the lord noise in midnight, so I start with listening to rain sound using headphone, but I still have trouble to sleep because of how high frequency the sound have, I wake up really easily if someone just make a little bit of noise, so now I found this gold and listen to its sound, it's perfect, not much of a high frequency, slightly low freq that comfort my ear since I'm using headphone, and I can't hear all the noise my damn inconsiderate housemate did in midnight! To all of you who responded, thanks. We are a compassionate crew, aren't we. Homelessness is one of the most unsettling things that can happen. But some good lessons come from it. You find out who your real friends are because they keep your stuff for you. And let you use their shower. Also got to do a lot of house sitting. I found out how domestic I was because I was constantly rearranging our belongings in the car (chick stuff). We were in a small city too. Police make it hard for the homeless. Always rousting you out, shining a bright flashlight in your face while you're sleeping. No one wants you in their parking lot. Sometimes life hits hard and there is nothing else you can do, though. God's blessings on you all.
I can totally relate to this reality since I was also homeless at one point in my life and sleeping in the car was difficult because the police were on the rouse like you said I was running out of places to stay.
Find dirt roads that people don't live on. Police come knocking when you're trying to sleep in a city. You have to commute a little bit to sleep in peace.

@@rainsofhealing We were homeless because we had been in street ministry and my husband got ill. Lost our support. Some good people helped us out a lot. But the church is mainly satisfied to just send a check to a shelter. And they dump the homeless on mental health facilities. It's a vicious cycle with poverty, made worse by the govt, by bad laws, by people who just won't deal with it and think it can never happen to them. Me and my husband sleep in our truck and weather it's raining or not I'll still have to listen to this one. I can't sleep without... After a hard day's work my husband will go to lay down for the night and I turn this on with in 10 minutes he's out like a light!!! It's very calming and helps me in so many ways. 🙏❤️✌️

We were homeless once for 6 months. At least we had a car to live in. The only good part was when it rained. We slept well on those nights. Recommendation: just in case, make sure your car has tilt steering!

Just wanted to say thanks for the replies and for enjoying one of my childhood rain memories. There's actually a bit more to the story that I left out because I didn't want to make it too long. In a nutshell we discovered an abandoned farm house down the dirt road. The house was empty except for a red torn down sofa in one of the rooms. We were at the house when the storm began but it turned out not to be rain safe, the wind was spraying rain through all the broken windows so we decided to rush back to our car which was parked about roughly a mile down the dirt road. One thing I forgot to add is when most of us in the car fell asleep, I woke up after some time and noticed warm air coming from the front. At some point our sister-in-law had the engine running and turned on the car's heater. So we had a mix of warm air blowing from the heater, and cold air blowing through the tiny bit rolled down windows. Not sure if this was super important to tell but I thought I'd add it anyway.
Reminds me when we were waiting on my dad and his brother who went on a beer run (blue laws) many years ago. My mom and my three older sisters, my sister-in-law and her two kids, we all waited in our family station wagon after we got surprised by a thunderstorm. This was a lonely backroad and we were parking on a dirt road next to the main road. There was corn fields and a huge forest behind it. It was a kind of creepy scenario. My mom would always pack blankets, towels (sometimes we waited at a pond or shallow river), snacks and drinks because these outings could take up to two hours and more. When the storm began we all retreated to the car since it also got dark quickly. The three oldest kids made a pretty comfortable bed in the back with blankets and towels. Me and the other two youngest got comfy in the backseat sharing a big blanket. My sister-in-law and my mom shared a blanket in the front seats. It was a hot summer day but the rain was very cold, cooling things down quite a bit. I was sitting on the right side and I had wrapped the ending of the blanket around me with only my eyes and nose peeking out and my head leaning between the backseat and the window. The storm was intense, the rain hitting the car's roof was so loud we had to yell otherwise you couldn't understand your own words. The car would occasionally shake a bit because of the strong wind. Surprisingly the thunder wasn't that loud but you could still hear it well enough. My mom told us to open the windows just a tiny crack because they were fogging up plus we were eight people in the car breathing, As soon as we opened the windows a cold but mild burst of wind filled the car and I snuggled up in my blanket even more. I loved it! After some time we stopped yelling and just let nature do the talking. The hypnotic sound of the rain hitting the roof, the deep growling thunder and the sharp howling wind was enough to put all of us to sleep after a bit. My dad and my uncle arrived way after midnight. They couldn't leave sooner because the storm and rainfall was just too severe. Anyway, this is one of my favorite rain moments from my childhood. Thanks for reading.

I had a car that was like this one (we got rid of it because of a oil leak. It was a really good car.) and there was a setting weather or not you wanted the top window to be window mode or normal car mode. It was really useful. My daughter and her friends think it's so "fun" to sleep in the backseat of the car. They set blankets and make a pallet up. We have a very secluded driveway in our small hometown and they think it's the coolest thing ever. One day they will outgrow this we they get older so I let them have these memories and times now cuz I know it's not long til they want there privacy and space from mom n Dad lol 😆

I’ve done this lots of times on long distance road trips. No sense in looking for a hotel, paying > $65, only to stay 9-12 hours! This car is large enough to be comfortable. In a 1988 Hyundai excel packed to the gills, I’d just recline in the driver’s seat. I saved a lot of $$$ that way.

I listen to this for a few seconds and then I am a child trying to sleep in our car while we drive at night to a holiday home somewhere in Denmark. Since then this was the most relaxing noise I had ever heard: the rain on the car roof. I thought I would be the only one.

This has been my go to rain video for some time now. The sound is soothing, it's not repetitive and it doesn't have any loud random thunder that for me, would keep me awake.

This is just perfect! I have trouble sleeping because of my housemate doing all the lord noise in midnight, so I start with listening to rain sound using headphone, but I still have trouble to sleep because of how high frequency the sound have, I wake up really easily if someone just make a little bit of noise, so now I found this gold and listen to its sound, it's perfect, not much of a high frequency, slightly low freq that comfort my ear since I'm using headphone, and I can't hear all the noise my damn inconsiderate housemate did in midnight! To all of you who responded, thanks. We are a compassionate crew, aren't we. Homelessness is one of the most unsettling things that can happen. But some good lessons come from it. You find out who your real friends are because they keep your stuff for you. And let you use their shower. Also got to do a lot of house sitting. I found out how domestic I was because I was constantly rearranging our belongings in the car (chick stuff). We were in a small city too. Police make it hard for the homeless. Always rousting you out, shining a bright flashlight in your face while you're sleeping. No one wants you in their parking lot. Sometimes life hits hard and there is nothing else you can do, though. God's blessings on you all.
I just stay hop between walmarts.
I can totally relate to this reality since I was also homeless at one point in my life and sleeping in the car was difficult because the police were on the rouse like you said I was running out of places to stay.
Find dirt roads that people don't live on. Police come knocking when you're trying to sleep in a city. You have to commute a little bit to sleep in peace.

Me and my husband sleep in our truck and weather it's raining or not I'll still have to listen to this one. I can't sleep without...
