The English version is not a dub, the show is recorded in English first and then dubbed into other languages, the lip syncing and dialogue are all made to be in English.
I really miss Billy Kametz, but his replacement sounds exactly the same, so I'm satisfied. Also, I'm surprised Monkie Kid is in so many different languages.
Gotta be honest, really like the french version of Macaque. Aggressive characters speaking in a rather elegant language makes them sound quite nice. And I say that as a person who, after having it as a subject in school for a few years, despises french. Good job, VA.
Hearing norwegian dubs always hurts so much we are so bad at dubbing things fcking ‘Søn Vukong’ I’m gonna SCREAAM. The guy who voices him is also the same guy who’s voiced literally Every cartoon antagonist(ic) characters in norwegian dubs and he does the same voice EVERY TIIME I love you norway and your . 5 voice actors. I cannot take this seriously at all . On a diff note tho i loove the mandarin dub sm the va’s do such a good job in it, Macaque sounds like SUCH a menace I love it
i really liked the japanese dub he sounded so thrilled and wrathful at the same time. i still like the english dub just as much he sounds also so thrilled and angry here as well. and the last language i really liked as well was the italian dub he sounds just as angry and thrilled as the last two languages i mentioned. all of these 3 languages sound amazing but they all sound similar yet different do eachoter for example: the english dub sounds angry and thrilled yet you can feel macaque's hatred towards sun wukong as he tries to crush him to a pulp. the italian dub makes macaque sound more angry at sun wukong as he uses his giant shadow form to crush him. and the japanese dub made macaque sound wrathful towards sun wukong. these 3 different languages sound similar but deliver their voice lines emotionally differently, but still as amazing what was your favorite language?
I did manage to recognize a few actors for other characters based on their previous roles Aiman Afandi voices MK, and Syed Sadik voices the Mayor and Pigsy
Really enjoyed, English/Chinese, Japan, Dutch, Italy, Norway, French/Korean i think are the Best once that fit Macaque like the best VA basis on character design and voice fit As Sutch person i feel like the VA they choise is best in slot there not many but seeing some good once that fit the character i think he fit the character well (Like i watched inazuma eleven and by the Alein chapter 1 blue guy character aounded way to much like a girl like to much i know female cast are aometime often VA guya and i do have no problem with that but for that 1 character i had a peoblem... Like it didnt feel right at least in my part.... But they played the character wel in character. so im happy with this one that they didnt screw Macaque )
Interesting that the Japanese version deliberately has Macaque call him Monkey King instead of Son Goku, the Japanese name of Sun Wukong, meanwhile you can hear the Korean version actually use the Korean name. Don't remember the surname, but I do know the given name is Ogong.
Romanian VA was pretty good imo! Outta curiosity do you know where I could watch the Rom dub? Cuz now Im curious about how different it might be from the EN one.

as someone who speaks french i fricking hate french dubs so much like my god i swear we use like the same ten people for every show/movie dub. there just isn't the right emotion/rhythm in the delivery of the lines! and they all have the same accent i swear
English dubbing will always have more emotion, Billy knew how to do a good job...
