I just did the interview yesterday. If you married and changed your name like I did 43 years ago, you need the marriage certificate.
Here’s my experience with it: if your home airport has Pre-Check, if your home airport is a known MESS or you frequently utilize hot mess airports (MCO, LAX, JFK, ATL) and you fly more than a few times per year, DO IT. It is worth every penny. Without it, I had to get to the airport two-three hours early. Now, I could show up 30 minutes before boarding starts and know that I’m gonna make my flight. I’ll never cut it that close, but I could if I wanted to.
mine is MCO
GET PRECHECK LOL. MCO is such trash with the clueless tourists who never fly and clog up the lines because they don’t know procedure.
So is ours and it has been such a game changer for us to have it!😉
Precheck+clear is a real cheat code for busy airports. Now I leave the airport during layovers to get food in the city (eg Atlanta has a lot of good restaurants nearby) since I can get through security in 5 min and shuttle to my gate… no more staying in the airport during a 3 hour layover when I can order the Uber right as a deboard the flight, shuttle to the Uber zone, get to a restaurant & eat, and come back in less than 2 hours (I still try to give myself an hour b/c the airport is huge)
@@apathy11303 i dont travel enough for clear i travel about 3 times a year so i got precheck
You two….👍. I am actually headed out to my TSA PreCheck appointment this morning. This video was REALLY so pleasant to watch. Any anxieties I had going to this appointment have dissipated! Thanx!!!🙏
Oh yay 😃 so happy we could help! Good luck today and yes, please keep calm as it truly is an easy process. Happy and safe travels 🫶🏽🤗
That is the best thing ever for traveling! Our entire family has been using it since 2015. $85 is not bad for five years and all of the time you save.
Sometimes when I book family members with our tickets who do NOT have it, their tickets get precheck also. Don’t know why, but we don’t complain. We fly United and occasionally American.
Wow that is amazing! Your family even gets to reap the benefits too! Wow 🤩. Thanks for sharing your great experience with us 🥰
HEY THERE, I WISHED I HAD DONE IT YEARS AGO BUT I AM SO GRATEFUL THAT I DID NOW. THE PRICES ARE DIFFERENT FROM STATE TO STATE BECAUSE I PAID $78 HERE IN MICHIGAN. EITHER WAY $85 OR $78 IS STILL WORTH IT☺️👍🏽
@grwendolynmartin8351 They lowered the cost of it since we did our video which is awesome. It is now $78 everywhere to apply.😉
@@InspiredbyRR WOW, THAT IS GREAT NEWS. I KNOW IT’S NOT MUCH BUT I HOPE THEY GAVE YOU A GIFT CARD OR SOMETHING🤷🏽♀️
Another plus. To renew you can go online. Don’t even have to go to back to Staples unless something has changed. Passport expired, name change, etc.
Very good information. Thank you for sharing 🤗
OMG. I flew out of Orland earlier this year and they tend to be very busy so getting through in like a minute is amazing.
Yes, MCO definitely gets busy. The 1 minute wait time is a game changer for sure.
Great video! I don't fly that often but because I live in the Atlanta metro area I went ahead and signed up for it last year. Every adult should have a passport and TSA pre-check to save time! I never show my birth certificate to anyone! Every time I have to do the I-9 for employment that passport pays for itself. I also carry the passport card in my wallet as an added 2nd level ID.
These items are of great value for "adulting" and the life value is substantial. Passport book & card was $150 for 10 years. TSA Pre-check was $85 for 5 years. Now having the TSA Pre-check makes it easier to get other items like a TWIC card for anyone that works in transportation.
Thank you ☺️! Wow you just informed us of some things we didn’t even know about so thank you for sharing those helpful tips and insights with us. 🫶🏽🤗
THANK YOU! I’m going to set up an appointment today. You’ve been so helpful!
Yay! So happy we could help ☺️
I've had travel cards which pay for this option for years but never took advantage of it. Ronya, thanks for taking the time to show us the ease of the process.
When I first read about Precheck and Global Entry, it indicated that I would have enroll at the airport, as you mentioned. I figured that, one day, I'd just arrive early for a flight and take care of it then. However, I wasn't sure how long or involved it was. So, I just never did it.
Now I know I can just swing by Staples the next time I'm in town. That's far less stressful than dealing with Atlanta traffic.👍🏻
Wow, thank you so much for watching this. Yes, the travel cards that offer the reimbursement back for it are such a nice perk ☺️! Staples definitely was no stress and we were pretty much in and out and didn’t have to pay for parking like we would have to at the airport 😉.
Wow. Funny you say this. I was exactly in the same situation. My Capital One Venture card pays for this and I never took advantage. Of course I haven't flown since 2019 but now I got a flight coming up. There is a interview location searcher on the website when signing up and my closest location was literally 7 mins at a Staples. Unfortunately mine was not as fast as the 3-5 business days most people probably experience but it did get approved in about 2 weeks. Just in time for my flight in about another 2 weeks from now. Mine costed $78.
I am WAY late to the party - but *THANK YOU for this information!*
I am traveling soon for my first ever vacation and heading to Europe. I knew of the TSA lines and all the horror stories but I did not know of this program until watching your video. I made a few clicks, filled in a few forms, and I have an appointment tomorrow at a Staples to do exactly what you did in your presentation.
May Karma *_always_* smile upon you! 😊
Oh you are so very welcome and thank you for stopping by. We are so happy we could help. 😇. Good luck on your interview and happy and safe travels on your very 1st of many (we hope) vacation’s 😉🫶🏽.
@@InspiredbyRR Thank you for your reply! I have not flown in 25-30 years and much has changed. RUclips has no shortage of videos on copious Dos and Don'ts. Of all those I have so far viewed, yours will make the most impact. I'll make a toast to you when I am on the tasting portion of the Johnny Walker Experience tour. 🙂
My adult son has Autism and our interview is next week. We just flew back from Orlando last week and it was a total nightmare. My son came very close to having a meltdown and I even had the time scheduled through clear, so I am very glad to be doing this. Thank you so much for your information. ❤
Ohhh we are so sorry to hear that 🥲. MCO is definitely a better experience with Precheck. We remember how long the lines and wait times were before we got it and it wasn’t fun at all. We pray you and your son have a great interview and get to enjoy a much better airport experience with precheck. Thanks for watching and good luck 😊
I travel about two time a year to see my parents in South Carolina. I am going to fill out the TSA Precheck application really soon. Thanks for this video.

NICE video, Thanks for sharing this. We go to Staples tomorrow for our interview. Looking more forward to our next travel.
Oh good luck on your interview tomorrow! So happy we could help 🤗. Thank you so much for watching.😃
Got the pre check no waiting for us on our next trip🥰
Yay!!! Whoo Hoo 🥳 Congratulations! Welcome to the PreCheck ✅ team! You are gonna really enjoy your future travel experiences at the airport now.
I went to the airport to get mine it wasn’t bad at all. I do recommend going to staples because it’s a lot less going on than the airport. I love it but I honestly never had to wait more than 30-40 minutes in line at any airport any time of the day. The best part for me is not having to strip when I get to the checkpoint, if I came looking cute I can stay cute the whole time lol. Great video ❤
That PreCheck really is a game changer and you are soooo right about being able to stay looking the way you came lol 😉💕
Thank you for this... Literally go for my interview tomorrow And I was wondering how the first time process actually worked. Earned a like and a sub from me

Awesome video! I'm an Australian who just got my Green Card and didn't know how TSA PreCheck worked. I haven't used it yet but had many concerns you guys did. Thanks so much for showing how it works in practice. You both have really made me feel more relaxed about using it for the first time in January! I also loved the smile on both your faces when you got through using PreCheck for the first time!

I have Global Entry. Amex reimburses for the TSA Pre ✅ or Global Entry fee. I chose Global Entry, because it comes with TSA Pre✅. I did the interview at the Post Office across from Madison Square Garden (I live in NYC). The interview was done by a Customs agent & the whole process took about 30 minutes.

Here's a little more info on this, and it has to do with the "it's good for 5 years" thing. My KTN is up in April but I got an e-mail from the TSA telling me that I can renew my "account" or whatever you want to call it, on-line. I was worried that I would have to go through the same 2-Step process I went through initially, but that's not necessary. There's a link to a renewal site on the e-mail and all you have to do is log on, make any corrections to your original personal information, answer a couple more questions and pay the $85 fee, then wait for them to notify you if you've been renewed (I was renewed the very next day). Eazy Peazy Japanezy! And didn't even have to leave the house!
That’s amazing and congratulations on the easy renewal. Definitely helpful knowing this info for when our 5 years run out. ☺️
Great tips. We have our interview this Friday. It's about 45 minutes away. We'll be flying out of ORD (Chicago) in December so it will be helpful if the line is open early. We have a 5 AM flight so lines probably won't be too long. We'll see.
Oh wow thank you for watching. Good luck on your interviews😎. Oh yes, we have family there and they’ve missed their flights at ORD before because of not arriving to the airport early enough and having to wait in the long regular TSA lines. We hope you have safe flights in December 😊

Oh wow thank you for joining the family 😇🏡 !!! Clear plus…is that different from regular Clear?
@@InspiredbyRR so its annual fee of $189 per person and $99 for additional user. Same thing as TSA PreCheck. You have goto Clear Kiosk and check in with Clear associate and after you checked in they will take you front of the TSA line. You dont have to take ur shoes and etc. I have Amex Plat so I get back $189 but just paying $99 for my wife. So basically $100 every year for two. Thats for clear plus. Regular free clear can only be used at partner stadium and arenas.

This was super helpful, thank you. I've never had pre check but I have a credit card that will reimburse me to get it so I figure why not. Based on your tip, I found a location inside of a Staples store that even has Saturday hours which makes this even more convenient. Thanks for sharing your experience and tips!
Wow, you get reimbursed for it with your credit card..That’s Awesome! 🤩We are so happy we could help. Good luck on your interview and enjoy the less stressful way of flying once you get approved. 😉💕
I went to staples too but when I got to the airport somehow my tsa precheck was not on my ticket. Frustrating!!!! But the next time I flew it was fine. I guess it can happen.
Oh no 😥, this happened to us once before but the airline took care of it for us before we arrived to the airport. Here’s what to do…If this ever happens again make sure to check your boarding pass prior to arriving at the airport. You can check in 24 hours before your flight departs so you will be able to see if the PreCheck sign is on your pass or not. If it doesn’t appear just call the airline and they can add it to your pass for you before you get to the airport and save you the time 😉.
Good info!
Happy to share and help. Thanks so much for watching. 🤗
Awesome!! Did you have to download a specific “KTN app” or is just scanning your boarding pass all you need to do?
Great question, Nope no extra app download needed. Once you are approved, you will get an email with your Known Traveler Number (aka KTN) and that is the number you will enter in when you are booking your flights. So for example: If you are flying with Delta Airlines, when you go to the Delta Airlines website or the Delta Airlines App you will book your flight as normal (saying what city to what city and the dates) and there will be a section to enter your KTN. You will put your KTN in that section and that’s it. When it is time to get your boarding pass your boarding pass will say TSA PreCheck on it. Also, if you use a travel agent or prefer to call the airlines you would just give the KTN to the representative over the phone for them to enter it for you.
Super easy and definitely convenient to have. Thanks so much for watching and we hope we answered your questions 😊
I was just watching your video good information, and I am also planning to get the TSA Pre-Check as well. My question which one is the best to apply for IDEMIA, TELOS or Clear, I heard Clear wasn't good to get.
Thank you for watching. We are so happy we could help. We only have precheck so we couldn’t give an opinion of Clear or the others.

I am in the process now. I did the interview/finger printing at a place by me and they didn't really ask me anything other than to confirm who I was. Pro trip, some credit cards companies will cover the cost.
Yay 😁 ! Goodluck on your journey to getting yours approved. Oh awesome advice about the credit card. Yes, some of them do cover the fee 😉
i was planning on doing this a while ago but unfortunately forgot. There's plenty of interview appts avail at my local Staples, but curious what the current wait for formal approval is. Our flight out is next week, and am doubtful it would get approved by then. We are flying frequently next year, so it'll still be useful for those flights
We are glad that our video could be of some use to you. We received approval 24 hours later and just like you had a flight the following week. We were able to call the airline and provide them with our KTN (Known Traveler Numbers) before our flight so that we could have pre-check added to our boarding passes. It was easy to do and we were able to go through tsa pre-check line the same week on our flight. It doesn’t hurt to try and see if you get approved fast as well.😉

If you purchase your ticket online, how do you add your TSA number to your boarding pass? Specifically, Jet Blue, thank you for the information. It was very helpful
Great question, there is a place to put your TSA number when you purchase flight tickets online. We have the app for all of the airlines we fly with and we just add our known traveler number on our accounts (under our profile). This allows it to be there automatically without having to add it for all future travel. Hope this helps and thank you so much for watching 🤗

Welcome to the family!💕💖
I don't know why people call it an interview. It's not an interview unless they ask, "So where do you see yourself five years from now?"
Maybe because that’s what THEY call it on the website when you are applying for TSA Pre-check and reading the order in which the process goes in.😉
@@InspiredbyRR 👩🍳🧕

Hey Ronya!! I just booked my appointment tomorrow (March 10th) at a Staples (1hr drive, but it'll be worth it!). I have a couple questions if you could help me:
1- Will I need to wait for any physical document like a card before I use Pre check?
2- If I'm leaving on the 17th and my appointment is on the 10th, is there a good chance I can use it on my flight out? Thanks!
Hey @Pehr M great questions! I’ll try to answer them in order
1.) No physical card or document will be given to you at the location or in the mail. You will Only receive an email saying you were approved or denied and if approved, you Will receive your Known Traveler Number (a.k.a. KTN).
2.) We were approved in 24 hours for both of ours and were able to use them the same month on a flight we had booked prior to getting approved. Should you get approved before your flights, just call the airline that you are flying with and let them know you have a KTN number that you forgot to add to your reservation. They will manually add the KTN to your reservation and you will see it on your boarding pass once you checkin 24 hours before your flight. Also it should be noted your KTN will never show on your boarding pass, it will simply say “TSA Pre Check” on your boarding pass (no matter if it is paper boarding pass or digital boarding pass on your mobile device 😉).
Hope this answered your questions and good luck tomorrow on your interview 🤗
Mine I got yesterday was 78 bucks. Went through in three days. Very simple. Not sure what the price difference was
Yay congratulations 🎊🎉🍾! Yes, since the time this video was filmed the application fee has gone down which is a WIN for everyone applying now 😊
How many days if you did the tsa pre check Enrollment at the airport . Instead of staples? Until the number for tsa
Hi Alex,
Great question..We honestly don’t know the answer to that since we only went the Staples. Hopefully it is available on their website.
Do you do the fingerprint there as well?
Yes, we did our fingerprints here as well. 😉
Hello, I never flown before so do you have to pay another $85 for the tsa checkpoint on your flight back.
Awesome question, thanks so much for asking. The TSA PreCheck payment of $85 is a One Time Payment that is good for 5 years.😉. You would make this payment upon going in for your interview to apply for TSA PreCheck. Once approved, you would not have to make this payment again for 5 years (after it has expired). So when you go to the airport to fly they WILL NOT ask you for any extra payment. The only thing you would need to pay for would be your actual airline ticket and your checked bag if your airline charges for checked bags. Keep in mind a carryon or personal item will fly for free with many airlines 😉.
Can you do it with travel document or driver’s license?
We brought multiple forms of documentation with us just to be safe 😉. You can always call ahead of time to see what forms of documentation your location prefers you to have .🙂
Can you add TSA number after purchasing your ticket?
You absolutely can. We did 😉💕
I'm in Orlando which staples
We went to the one over in the Kissimmee/ St. Cloud area. We know they change locations sometimes so you can do a search on their website to see which locations they are providing the service at since we filmed this a few years ago. Website = IdentoGo.com/Staples
I’m on day 4 still no email lol I’m waiting
Really? Did you go to Staples or the airport? Also weekends don’t count 😉
@@InspiredbyRR I went to staples
So hopefully on Monday lol that’s the day I fly out I hope it kicks in 12am lol
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
🙏🏾 Okay Awesome! Yeah, hopefully you get your answer this week coming up for sure! We hope you do ☺️
TSA PreCheck is $78 for five years.
Even better deal now! 🤗
Do you just provide TSA the KTN only?
Great question! So you actually don’t provide TSA with it all. If and when you are approved for TSA precheck then you will login to the app of the airline you prefer.( For instance if you fly Delta ✈️ you would download the Delta app and book your flight.)
When booking your flight there will be a section that says KTN. That is where you will enter your KTN number.
Helpful Tip💡:We also suggest just adding your KTN number to your flyer profile in the app that way you don’t have to keep entering it every time you book a flight 😉.
Then 24 hours before your flight when you go to checkin your boarding pass will say “TSA PreCheck” on it and that is what TSA will see to ensure you can go through the PreCheck line 😉. Hope this helps and thanks for watching.
@@InspiredbyRR Ahhhhh thank you so much!
Our Pleasure 🤗💕
I paid 78 dollars it’s 4-7-23 so I don’t know
Wonder if it has to do based upon the state you are residing in OR if they deducted some dollars since we posted this video. Either way that’s still a great deal!😉
@@InspiredbyRR i went to Allentown airport. They didn’t ask me anything questions just took my finger prints a picture and 78 dollars
Do they send you a number or do they send you a qr code?
Hey there, Great question. They send you an email informing you if you were approved or denied and if you were approved you get your KTN (Known Traveler Number). This is the number you will enter when you go to book any flights. Having your KTN will allow your airline to put “TSA PreCheck “ on your boarding pass. This is what TSA checks for to allow you to go through the TSA PreCheck line instead of the regular TSA line that is extremely long lol. Hope this answered your question and thanks so much for watching. 😎
@@InspiredbyRR If I already booked my flight and then requested the TSA PreCheck?
When we applied for TSA precheck we were approved the next day. We had a flight we had booked prior to getting approved for TSA precheck so we called the airline and provided us with our KTN number. That allowed us to have tsa precheck on the flight we had already booked. All the airline needs is the KTN number prior to your departure date to add it on your boarding pass.😉
i went to two different airports and neither psa checks lines were open, then when they found that i have an artifical knee they said i will never be able to do tsa check and will always have to go through the regular screen process, wish they would have told me this before i spent the 85 dollars and my tsa precheck interview was 100 miles, one way, from my house, so for me and ppl like me, it is a waste of time as well as money, but very glad you had a great experience
🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲🥲 Oh noooo! We are so sorry you had that experience. Were you able to get a refund? Would you mind sharing which 2 airports you went to that had the lines closed? Dang’ 100 miles away-was that the closest airport to you? We thank you for sharing your experience especially for those who may be considering TSA PreCheck with prosthetics.
Did you need your social & marriage certificate?? Thanks
Hi @Brandie, Great question! Well, Ronya is a Virgo so she literally plans for everything lol 😂 so she had them but they were not needed. We think they mainly care about a DL or state ID card. Still good to have two forms of ID on you and proof of address just in case because our location and interview process could be less strict than other locations or other states 😉.
@@InspiredbyRR thank you I went & didn’t need it 🖤
I wonder why California it’s $78 hours $85
Great question hmmm idk 🤷🏾♀️ could be a state tax thing or something.
Okay great! Good luck and we hope you got approved 🤗.
Will they honor my minor children with my TSA pre check membership?
Great question…unfortunately you would have to purchase one for them as well (unless of course they are a infant/baby that would sit in your lap).
Was it $85 per person??
Yes, we paid $85 each.😉
8 months later still not approved 😕
Whhhhaaaatttt 😲. Man, that is an extremely long time. Did you call and check on your status or ask for an update? Did you apply for TSA Pre Check or CLEAR or GLOBAL? Also, what state?
You need to call !! I applied 2/1 and received my ktn 2/2. Less than 24 hrs
It’s a money pit. It’s not even a one time thing but a recurring bill. Capitalism at its finest. Create an inconvenience and make people pay to enjoy convenience.
There’s definitely things out here that we wish were free and is free in other countries. For us, this has been worth the $85 for the 5 years. We thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts. Happy and safe travels 🚙✈️
Similar to a video on why airlines are not able to resolve inefficient boarding. It’s all about the money. You get what you pay for .
I think a better value if you really have to pay for it would be nexus. It’s cheaper and offers more bang for the buck.
I have a family of 3. My wife, son (13) and myself. Is the price 85 per person or how does this work? Btw my wife is a resident. Would she qualify?
Hey there 👋🏾. Yes, we both had to pay $85 each. Not sure for your son (13) You might try to see if there’s a discount for minors.
@@InspiredbyRR excellent! Thank you for the fast reply! I didn't expect that! Really enjoyed your video...basic and straight to the point!
Our Pleasure, we appreciate you watching and we are so happy you enjoyed the video 🫶🏽💖
Can you bring your water through precheck?
Not through pre✅ but you can purchase water in the airport once you get through. The work around is bringing an empty water bottle and filling it up at the water fountain once you are inside by your gate. Hope that helps
This was so helpful! Thank you! 😀
Yay 😀! So happy we could help. Thank you for watching. 🫶🏽
