Anyone else near overwhelmed by the amount of games? I think at this point if I owned the entire Nintendo E-shop I would have enough gameplay to last me 2 life times.
koffinkat666 It's not just the amount. The quality aswell. Celeste, Iconoclasts, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, Dead Cells, Hyper Light Drifter and many, many more. Like, holy. Chill Nintendo, I can't keep up.
One less lonely memer In terms of indies, definitely. The support is great, with the vast majority releasing on Xbox and Playstation and PC too. However, I think they are talking announcements and triple A content, thats what theyre moaning about. 2018, hasn't been fantastic in terms of first party content, but the what they call "big guns" aren't coming to the system i.e. Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Red Dead etc.
I can not recommend this game....enough! Airtight platforming, challenging bosses, loveable characters and hilarious jokes. There is not really a wrong way to traverse the levels, once you have more options, and it's just fun to zoom through the various screens. The death-system does a good job at not making deaths too punishing, which is good, because if you're only moderately good at these kinds of games (like me), you'll die a lot. Love it!
I never could have imagined that 8-bit games could ever have a life of their own again. Especially in an era where so much more is possible and available. Life is just filled with these interesting little ironies and full-circles. :D
Only game I have ever started a second file right after finishing the first. NG+ letting you start with all your movement upgrades makes the whole first half of the game a casual speedrun. Possibly the most fun I’ve ever had in a video game. The different between my first and second clear times was literally 8 hours
This is the best purchase I made in my Nintendo Switch so far, the game is simple but is very fun, it's hard, but it's not frustrating, the story is a collection of cliches so well-orchestrated that created a game very rich, and I'm not even started talking about the soundtrack and the graphics, this is so far one of the best games I played in my life, it has the correct amount of nostalgia, but it's so fresh and new that you can spend hours behind the controller without even noticing the time pass while you're playing this.
I FINALLY FINISHED THE MESSENGER ONCE AND FOR ALL FINALE FAREWELL!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my freaking god, this video game was an MASTERPIECE!!!!!!!!! Everything about this 2D Platformer video game from the graphics, music, story/lore, characters and the gameplay/level design. It's all freaking amazing and wonderful masterpiece!!!!!!!!! I am so happy I finally finished The Messenger after 1 year later!!!!!!!!! The Messenger is an video game I will remember so much and have gorgeous, wonderful and amazing 10/10 farewell memories!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you Sabotage Studios, Devolver Digital, and the rest of this amazing wonderful 10/10 team who worked on this 2D Platformer video game masterpiece!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, goodbye and FAREWELL THE MESSENGER!!!!!!!!!!!! :D
I like how the music changes when you are in water or other environments. This reminds me of that Castle Vania reminiscent game that came out over the summer... or maybe I'm thinking of all those ninja games/ninja combat based games that have come out in the past five years or so.
The trailer sold it for me. Bought it today and had a blast the past few hours. It's definitely worth it! Though there is one slight concern for me, which is the amount of choices there are in the eShop. The fact there are so many more games now, like Steam, it really makes it hard to pinpoint which ones are worth buying, as Quantity is slowly taking hold of Quality, which is a bad sign. I will make sure to get those that have an average rating of 80%, 85% or above, when it comes to deciding what to get from now on.
Baikal920 I’m curious as to how you know it’s 50%. Anyways, I haven’t played the game. I don’t usually like platformers (including Mario). I’ve just heard really good comments on this game.
Baikal920 I do know that for the first part of the game (2-3h), it tricks you into believing that the game is boring. But I guess that you’re passed that.
This generally isn't my type of game, but got interested in it after having 100% Sea of Stars. The moment at 0:50 convinced me to buy, such a smooth transition and the soundtrack is hype af! I'm 8 hours in and not regretting it at all. Shopkeeper makes me laugh each time I talk to him and the mistery is intriguing too.
now I see what he meant when he said " you didn't watch the trailer did you"
same, came here right after that line
@@cael5118 hah, me too!
The trailer is a big spoiler but the game is great
YES
same
Went into this game blind, saw no trailers, had no idea what to expect and was pretty damn surprised. Love this game!
same
@@arthuralmeida6049 AMEN!
same until I gave in and watched the trailer
Same
Same here, I'm glad I didn't watch the trailer when the shopkeeper told me.
It hurts me to the core that alot of people won't discover how phenomenal this game is
Same goes for most metroidvanias and 2D games in general tbh
Fr it's very underrated
It is the bee's knees indeed.
I think a lot of people will come looking now sea of stars is blowing up, I did!
Oh yeah? ;)

"Ok that's a really cool hat, seriously, wow!"
Couldn't agree more.
...
Ninja gaiden with shovel knight?
Knight Gaiden '-'
I got one, Ninja Shovel!
Ninja gaiden+shovel Knight+Castlevania?
More like ninja gaiden with specter knight
It think it's with mortal kombat characters, cuz you have sub zero and raiden
The type of pixel-graphics game nobody will get sick of
I for one wont. Love the old school style but with modern features and all
I am. I dont like it
Dont buy it tttttthhhheeeeeeeennnn
@@janmarcoperezbatres2203 I'm not. The point wasnt about purchase. It was of no one getting tired of the look
But admit it...
This game is phenomenal, even with the 8 bit style
8-bit music: the gift no one realized they needed.
It's the one we deserve
Chiptune can be truly the best thing ever.
There's 16-bit versions too
The “Tower of Time” theme is 🔥
So unique, filled with so much passion. Loved every second of this game.
I got to play this at PAX East and it's an awesome experience!! Gonna grab this game ASAP :]
nice, i'll be watching your video when you get your hands on the game :)
I forgot your channel exist for 4 years
Anyone else near overwhelmed by the amount of games? I think at this point if I owned the entire Nintendo E-shop I would have enough gameplay to last me 2 life times.
I find it weird how people still complain about 3rd party games even tho this year has been one of the biggest Nintendo 3rd party support yet
there's 1000 games and the switch has only been around 1 year... and I do mean that. There's LITERALLY 1053 games plus plenty more coming
koffinkat666 It's not just the amount. The quality aswell. Celeste, Iconoclasts, Hollow Knight, Shovel Knight, Dead Cells, Hyper Light Drifter and many, many more.
Like, holy. Chill Nintendo, I can't keep up.
Ninja Kat
Nintendo: Do you want games?
Players: Yeaaahh!
Nintendo: Have them all, then!
Players: All of them!?
Nintendo: *ALL OF THEM*.

Looks like a Ninja Gaiden with Shovel Knight-quality polish. Sold!
Developer "Sabotage Studio" did an amazing job developing this game. It is getting perfect review scores everywhere.
I think you did not see it well, its something even better
The platforming is even tighter than Shovel Knight, which makes me like this game more.

I can feel the speed running community for plague and shovel knight running to get this game. Looks good and sounds good
I know you get this a lot but uhhhh *nice prof pic*
Yeah, nice prof pic
and is REALLY GOOD
The trailer fails to show how funny the game is. Had me cracking up every level

Playing this game in blind has to be the most mind blowing thing Ive ever experienced in a videogame, good thing I didn't watch the trailer.
That's a really cool hat, seriously wow
They should have named the player character "Den"
And changed the name of the game to "The Legend of Ninja Guy, Den"
John Naylor
That was a pretty dumb joke yet I laughed quite a bit… well, you know what that says about me.
Amazing game, absolutely underrated.
This game is so underrated, if only a fairly big content creator talked about this game and had music from the game as his outro in all his videos
This game is freaking awesome! I recommended it to everybody!
I hope we get a Physical Copy!!!...looks fantastic.
This game was great. A hidden gem that's worth your time.
Say that again after knowing the horshit difficulty and the awful backtracking.
@@Raylightsen all metroidvanias have backtracking and difficulity is good for me

As someone who has over 100 switch games, this games OST is easily top 10, probably top 5
This game has taken a spot in my list of TOP 5 GREATEST GAMES OF ALL TIME. If you don't have it in 2024, get it.

Feel like a kid again! Go 1980s!

"There is too much good food out there, I don't know what to eat. Please limit the good foods, I can't think for myself!"
I never expected the music to be so amazing.Had to buy the soundtrack.Amazing and hilarious game on top of it
Looks amazing
I just started this game and I'm hooked. Amazing music and crisp gameplay
these indie games are like a love letter to the classics
The music is awesome, some of the sound effects remind me of Links Awakening.
Any clue what the trailer music is called?
@@shoretroopercaptaintarras1876 it's a mix with a lot of OST songs.
I simply love the music used here, watched so many times becuz of that
this game is so good
Just bought this game for PS5 the other day, and I can't wait to check it out. I really like Devolver!
This is and always be my favorite game of all time. Cyber Shadow is second
Looks like a really cool game!
this trailer was cooler than i expected... i almost immediately bought the game with no regard for my lack of money
These are the kind of games we need in the eshop.
This is one of my all time favorites, I just got a Switch Lite and I'm so happy to know I can replay this !!! :D
Here because he was right I didn't wached the trailer XD
WoW! The song sounds so good!
one of the best games i've played!
i might just be gushing over every 8-bit pixel game but *THIS GAME LOOKS SICK!!!*
Love this game
Amazing gameplay and mechanics
Physical copy?? I need this.
Sabotage Studio and Devolver Digital could eventually release a physical version later on.
Most likely going to have to wait for a limited run games release.
From the future: they are still in the process of thinking about making a physical copy
Devolver is always making good game ideas
This looks like an awesome throwback to Ninja Gaiden
All I can think is Ninja Gaiden
JR Jazz except Ninja Gaiden was actually well made. I wish I'd looked more into this game before I bought it.
Baikal how much time did you play the messenger? It is well made.
Emilie Poirier I played through more than 50% of the game. It's really not well made.
Baikal920 I’m curious as to how you know it’s 50%. Anyways, I haven’t played the game. I don’t usually like platformers (including Mario). I’ve just heard really good comments on this game.

THIS GAME LOOKS SO CLEAN
One of my favorite eShop games so far!
I'm currently playing this insanely good game. It forces you to get good. It's tough but fair. ❤
When it comes to the old classic games getting Indi like re-creations, I was wondering where the ninja Gaiden one was.
Loved this game
They need to do an animated trailer for this, I think it would build a lot of hype
Hooooping for a physical release!!!
This makes me think of the side-scrolling levels in LoZ: Link’s Awakening.
This game is good ! I didn’t think it would have me hooked 🤣
Great game been needing this for awhile
It looks awesome, music is glorious too.
Damn, the music is so good 8bit for life
I can’t believe this game is the sequel to Sea of Stars!
I beat Sea of Stars first now playing this. Both amazing games.
The hat joke never gets old. Makes me laugh every time. 😂
This game looks really good
I can smell someone out there itching to TAS this game so bad
I can smell it from a mile away
Looks nice! Might get after Ring Fit! :)
This game looks sooo good
the gameplay and ost are amazing
I Love Nintendo
It's been a while since I've wanted to play a retro 2D platformer like this!!
Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment with ninjas

I Finish this Game and I can only say... Amazing!!!!
Who's here after seeing the Cyber Shadow trailer?
up
Just finished the game. Glad I didn't watch the trailer before
Damn, this trailer had spoilered anything in this game!
So many amazing games coming out for the switch!! Ima have so much fun playing all these games during the holidays
面白いゲームです。絶対的に音楽が素晴らしい。ダウンロード版でクリアしましたが、ebayにパッケージ版があるのを知り…かなり高額になってます。
For everyone who's not sure if he should play that: You have to do the thing... Believe me
this looks really good!
Looks like a return of Ninja Gaiden ♡
このゲーム面白かったー。 日本ではそこまで知名度ないけど是非手に取ってほしい。 日本のゲームのオマージュとかもあってゲームに対する製作者の愛を感じたよ。
I got to try this demo at EB Games on the PS4. It was an okay game.
This looks pretty awesome I will say
This actually looks dope
It looks amazing but it's still not live and playable on Switch yet!!!
Now, this is a cool game
I wish we were getting a sequel or another side scroller from Sabotage Studio....theyre working on an rpg though =(
such a great game
It looks like a mix between Ninja Gaiden and Spectre Knight from Shovel Knight.
This is fricking awesome! Its like shinobi but the platforming is like super meat boy or something.
I'm getting that old school ninja gaiden feel.
no Nintendo - we need KNACK THREE BAYBEE
Dunkey baybeee
8-bit Autumn Hills.... case closed.
Looks like a more floaty Ninja Gaiden.
