Not sure if they're available outside the UK (I get them off amazon) but I'd really recommend Seawhite of Brighton sketchbooks, they have paper which holds watercolour and also works well with ink and pencil, although alcohol markers bleed a bit. They're also not too expensive. Also, you're drawing was really good, I love your style, especially the hair
Ohhh yeah I've heard about that brand! I don't use markers that much so for me that's not an issue, so I might look into those next time. And Thank you for your kind words
I really recommend the Stillman & Birn system! They have different types depending on paper texture, weight and colour. Personally, I use the Zeta sketchbook, which has thick but smooth paper. It's great for the way I use watercolour, though I acknowledge that that might differ for you. Because of the thickness, it takes wet media pretty well. Another benefit is that the sketchbooks lay really flat! One of the downsides is that they're not that cheap and don't have a lot of pages (I think 26 sheets?), but personally this sketchbook fits the way I draw so well that I find it worth it. Hope this helps ^,^

Not sure if this counts as a sketchbook recommendation but my current one has 200 pages, I do not know the price of it nor do I know where we got it? It was in Romania but not sure where, it was yeaaars ago, it calls itself a “jumbo pad” pretty good for pencils and doodles but thats about it, the logo is a elephant and I have no clue if their still made or rebranded x’d paper makes everything super see through but it is good quality, no weird texture or anything, in fact, Im not even sure if it is supposed to be a sketchbook lol XD oh well, it is now!

Aw man your comments make me so happy! :^D I might just get one of those cheap but thick sketchbooks like the one you’re describing if I don’t find anything else. I honestly don’t mind thin paper that much and I like the way the sketchbooks gets thicker overtime because of how much water I use with it. Hiiii! I saw your last sketchbook and really liked it :D also from germany here, and ive tried the big hahnemühle sketchbooks before and even though it worked it was to smooth which just didnt feel right. I do own a small Hahnemühle sketchbook that has really good textured paper, though it is small. They definitely do rough paper too :)
My questions would be, what is your fav ice cream flavour and how do you deal with big sketchbook burnouts and how do you get back into drawing?
Ooo interesting! I haven't seen many sketchbooks from that brand. Only the one I have and two thin ones with soft covers which had good paper but I like hard covers...I will look into it but if its still on the pricey side I might just look for cheaper ones :_)

No I'm slavic 😭😭 But I'm pretty familiar with the balkans bc my house was like...5km from Romania, which ended up with me learning Romanian too
So yeah I wouldn't be surprised if some of my ancestors would also be balkan lmao
