    There are times when I am very happy that the only choices we have are “thumbs up” or “thumbs down “.. where is the “LOVE” button when you need it. Thank you so much. The progress I have made in InDesign skills are unbelievable… and you are contributing so much to that.

For example, I have 5 images stacked on top of each other (and we can go to the next image by arrow). Now, I want to make each image a button, so when I click on them, the specific text from my text state shows up. However, when I try to link them, it only shows me one of the states.

      Thanks Jocelyne! This is perfect for presentations either online, or exporting as an EPUB (Fixed Layout) and opening in a reader, such as Apple Books or Adobe Digital Editions. • @AngeloMontilla
      @AngeloMontilla  2 года назад

      Hey there! Object States (Multi-state Objects) will not work for PDF. You can use Show/Hide Buttons and Forms, which works similarly in nature. For example, for a photo gallery, you could create the photos to Buttons with no Actions and then set the actual Button actions to show/hide each image in the gallery. You can check out this tutorial and see how Show/Hide Buttons and Forms works: ruclips.net/video/KKLSieK686g/видео.html

    • @AngeloMontilla
      @AngeloMontilla  4 года назад +1

      Hey there. Yes you can. I would suggest bringing over the vector (open in Illustrator and copy into InDesign) version of the map. This will allow you to select certain parts of the map and convert to buttons. If you import the map as an image, you won't have that capability. Hope that helps.

    Hi Angelo, thank you so much for this tutorial. I am encountering one issue I cannot figure out maybe you have also encountered. I have created a page with the same functionality as yours but when I preview the animation my information text does NOT fly in on page load, I have to click the button in order to make it happen, which I think may be confusing to some users. I tried changing that state to animate on page load by clicking into it, but that is not an option for me, the only option I am given is on 'On State Load'. I also tried animating the entire multi-state object to Fly in On Page Load but that doesn't work either.. Any suggestions?

      Hello again. I just wanted to leave this here in case anyone else experienced the same bug I mentioned above. I was able to fix the multi state load issue by, selecting the Multi state object, 'trashing' it by clicking the trash icon in the M.S.O panel and recreating, as shown in Angelo's video. I followed those step by step instructions the first time and everything worked except the initial state load with page load, but trashing and beginning from that point fixed it. Maybe it was just a bug, or maybe I did something incorrectly the first-time. Nonetheless starting over worked 😊. Thanks again Angelo for this tutorial! Looking forward to watching and learning more.

      Use the Hyperlinks panel, which can be found under Window > Interactive > Hyperlinks. Select the object in the layout you want to hyperlink. In the Hyperlink panel, click the plus icon to Add a New Hyperlink. Instead of URL, choose Email and then fill in the fields. You can add multiple emails by separating with commas.

    It works in the preview but it doesn't work when I export it as an interactive PDF file, can anyone help?

      Julia, Object States won't work in Interactive PDF. You'll have to use the Show/Hide Buttons and Forms option for PDF if you're triggering a button to an action. This tutorial may be more useful for what you're trying to do: ruclips.net/video/Ygy0-2OrrGY/видео.html

    What's the point of guides when you didn't even use them to align or something else.. #ridiculous
