I'm a Japanese DTP designer. For the past few days, I've been having a lot of trouble figuring out how to set up an interactive PDF. It was not listed anywhere on the Japanese website. Thanks to you I solved it. thanks so much! I'm not good at English, but please forgive me.
This was so helpeful! I knew there was a way to do this, but none of the articles I was pulling up answered my question until I stumbled on this video. Thank you so much!
ME ENCATAN TUS VIDEOS, la verdad tienes una muy buena forma de enseñar! I only want to tell you, that you show me a lot of things with your videos, I'm from central america and I feel so excited when see your tutorials, please continue with this :D
Your explanation is detail n amazing. I learn a lot from your channel. I done my toturial base on your video how to convert interactive magazine layoùt to html5 digital flipbook..i done it twice. And now continue to this tutorial...great video tutorial..👍👍👍 and thanks.
Thank you Kimberly! Yeah, Interactive PDF is fading away but consider using an e-reader as an alternative. Just export your work as EPub (Fixed Layout) and open it in Apple Books or Adobe Digital Editions. All the best.
Hi Angelo. Is it possible to create a Page Return? Let's say I was on page 35 and jump to Table of Content but then I want to go to that same page. Like when you're watching tv and jump to a channel and want to go back to the previous channel that it's not next it. Thanks for your tutorials, they have helped me a lot.
Can you set up the "return to Index" arrow icon on the master pages, so that you only have to create the button one time? I've never used the bookmark feature before, so not sure if it will work on the master. Thanks,
Thank you for a clear tutorial to follow! Is there a reason why you chose "Go To Destination" button for the "Back" button instead of choosing the "Go To First Page" button?
Great question. You could do "Go to First Page" of the Index was the first page in the doc. I think at the time my thinking was to show how to go back to an Index page in a publication, so I set it up as a bookmark. However the Go to First Page would definitely work, and much easier! Having said that, you can also set it up using Hyperlinks rather than button actions. This also allows you to jump to different pages within a doc. Take care!
@@AngeloMontilla Thank you for your reply! Hyperlinks have not crossed my mind at all actually! I will definitely play around maybe combining the two. Have a nice weekend!
Thank you for the nice explanation..I have a question, please..The question is..I found in an interactive file that when you click on a picture in it, the picture flips when you click to show another picture and so on..how do I do that..I mean click and a second picture appears and then Click and another image will appear..Thank you
Hi, while I export interactive PDF and use it in my computer it works perfectly, but it doesn’t work in my mobile phone (both iPhone and Android devices). Help me to do it correctly. Thanks.
How do you get separate pages side by side in the display and to display as one page when in it's functional mode, as oppose to one underneath another??
I'm not sure if you'll see this as a few years old, but I absolutely love your content - beyond helpful! One thing I can't seem to solve is that each time I make a button go to page or destination it only takes half the screen / a singular page to the new page and not to the spread.. so frustrating - any ideas on how to resolve?
Thanks! When you export the PDF (Interactive) set the View dropdown menu to 'Fit Page'. This will contain the spread in a single page in Acrobat so when you click the index button, it'll show the entire spread not just the page you're targeting. Make sense?
Hi! is it possible to have several photos one over the other and make the photos dissapear to show the ones below consecutively when clicking? (need this in an interactive pdf) thanks!
Yes, you would use the Show/Hide Buttons and Forms action. Basically, create all the images into buttons and set then set to click the image, show the next and hide the previous. I go over how to use Show/Hide Buttons and Forms here: ruclips.net/video/YODPFCOuts8/видео.html
@@AngeloMontilla Thank you... I actually attempted this without your template but wasn’t sure that my documents were set up correctly. I truly thank you. This is perfect for what I need. Hi Angelo! Your video explanation is great but I found that the interactive buttons only work when I open the PDF on adobe Acrobat. If I open it on Mac's pdf preview it doesn't work..any ideas on why is not working? THANKS
Hi Ana! The navigation buttons aren't supported for a web browser viewing experience. Any interactivity added from InDesign to PDF is meant to be viewed in Acrobat. That is why I always suggest clients or anyone you're creating the project for to open it in Acrobat and not Chrome, Firefox, Safari, etc.. Take care!
Hi Helner. Yes, you can view an interactive PDF on mobile. However it should be viewed using Acrobat for iphone or android. You can also view interactive projects on mobile that are published online or epub, using a mobile e-reader such as Apple Books.
You honestly deserve a lot more recognition for what you do. Your tutorials are so in-depth and easy to follow.

I see plethora of accessibility overshights in this approach. Also, why the go back to index button is just not on the appropriate master page?
Thank you!! Saved me a lot of frustration haha!

Thanks.
Amazeballs, thank you, you saved me time.
Thanks a lot for this video
How do you get separate pages side by side in the display and to display as one page when in it's functional mode, as oppose to one underneath another??
Hey Ben. When you're setting up your doc, make sure to check "Facing Pages". This will allow you to face spreads and not single pages. All the best!
Very helpful! Thank you sir!
Do you have to be in Acrobat Pro to ensure this works? What happens in a regular Adobe Acrobat reader?
This will work in Reader but you can't edit the settings such as button functions, for example. You'd need Acrobat Pro for that.
That makes sense! Thanks for responding so quick and for your great videos!
