A light thread lock should be used on the front strut bolts and the tightness should be measured. If you don't remove the connector bar to the sway bar, you will be fighting the space between the ball joint and the strut and the sway bar tension as well as have difficulty lining up the holes to pull the strut into the alignment post between the bottom strut bolts.
Thanks for this video, this is very helpful. Can you please advise me the torque for Struts to Knuckle? There are 3 bolts. The service manual is not easy to understand it.
Doesn't that front M strut make the inside of the tires wear faster? Would I want to do this to my stock Z3 daily driver that I occasionally take through the back country roads?
I have the exact same Z as you! I love it so much but it has a bad leak I believe it’s coming from the oil pan/power steering. Please show me how I can’t afford to pay for labor😭
yea these motors have a common leak from the power steering reservoir, the pressure in the lines can be 120psi which leaks out the reservoir and then all over the motor, making everything gross. You can replace it with a kit from chase bays or go OEM but itll fail again with time. Another thing worth considering if yours is high mileage is the oil filter housing gasket, they go bad with age.
Love it Connor! Can't wait to see what's next!
+lalcaps824 Thanks Rodney!
