GREAT VIDEO!! I got a 2000 Z3 2.8 since 2014, and still love it so so much and planned to keep it for life, coz it is my lucky car. The body line and the shape of Z3 is masterpiece....long bonnet , short rear, it is the true classic type of roadster should be. And I wish it weight reduction like you did, and i am thinking of remove the soft top too...haha...like the topless classic roadster in 50s-60s, park and cover it in garage. Of coz I will drive only on sunny days with headphone & sunglasses, which means I really don't need the air-con system & sound system. I am really really curious what if a z3 can reduced over 100kgs...the handling should be so wonderful...and its fuel consumption figures. It would be great if you can upload Part 2 for my reference, and tell us exactly how many KGs it reduced. Cheers.
The parts up to the 17 minute mark probably weigh less than 10 pounds, and if they are so hard to take off most likely will not "fall off." Took off the EGR, the car would not downshift at speed, and three lights came on, EML, DSC and BRAKE. Put it back on immediately.
Thanks Christian! We are actively shooting it now! I don't have a drop dead date on the video yet but it should be live in the next couple weeks. We just got a bunch of parts in for it today too!
I’d love to see how you shaved the weight. The back half looks like an easy 50# (~23kg), a carbon fiber hood should shave another 50# so that’s still only 1/3 of the weight you have shed. I’m guessing seats and doors were next
@@thetumanshow I have stock bonnet, stock seats and doors are more heavy than normal. (jehnert hifi). Are you on any other social media like instagram I am happy to show all. :)
@@bowlingballmagic depends on the appliance however i STRONGLY suggest a turbo over the vf supercharger. I installed both and wish i had gone turbo from the start
remowing fenders is most stupidthing i have ever seen engine would be in sheet in rain day :) and for first remove rear bumper extra weights :D one is 9.2 kg there is 2 of them
Cool to see you physically remove so much extra weight from your z3. I bet you can really feel the difference!!!
i did the same to my Z3. The power seats weigh 65 lbs each. Replaced them with corbeau buckets that about 18 lbs.
@Ez Pz Corbeau GTA lo back.
I just got an M-Roadster and this video helped answer some questions like the air pump purpose. Keep these videos coming.

What could be cool is to make custom exhaust exit out of side grills in front
When are you uploading again?
Are u guys ever gonna upload again?

part #2?? awesome info
I wonder how much weight was reduced in total from the parts that you removed
Is that an automatic 😢
So how much weight have you dropped?
Where is part two?
Love these videos. So exactly how much did the car lost weight in this part?
yeah, It'd be good to know how much the weight reduction really was.

Ever got around to uploading part 2?
if i were to take out the secoundary air pump off my bmw z3 2.3 i dont have a cat on it what will it do.
Ernie Neir how does the 2.5L Z3 sounds catless? I've been wanting to get catless headers on my Z3 but I'm worried it won't sound good.
@@grovesautomotive2679 so much for next couple of weeks haha
I shoud show you how it is done. My Z3 Coupe has lost 150Kg but is still looking like stock, only in carbonfiber and litium form.
