Sandy Wilkins Invites Us to Tour Wilkins Racing Engines

When we were in Mooresville, NC this summer, we kept seeing signs for Wilkins Racing Engines, so we took the hint and stopped at the shop to check it out. Shop owner Sandy Wilkins invited us in and we were not disappointed! This engine machine shop does a number of different things for several racing disciplines, and is always looking to push the envelope of innovation. Check out the tour!

Sandy is a bad dude! He used to build 2.2’s for my old employer’s Super Late Model, and worked about 3mi from where I live in NC near Jordan Lake. Super knowledgeable, and just all around good guy! So many crème of the crop engine builders/machinists/tuners here in NC; Sandy Wilkins, Pete Harrell, Charlie Long, and “The” Kevin Mullins-to name a few…
