I'm an newly aficionado of video making, and I just realized that you need to be ready to cut 99 % of the video you shooting, for the greater good! Great video! .
I am now starting to make vlogs and when i'm trying to shoot b-roll your tips comes first in my mind. I know that my videos wasn't good at all but i'm still learning and i love the process. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise, huge help specially for the begginers.salute
These are some of the best tuts on RUclips. While I enjoyed the final product from your last beach one better, the tips you talked about here and your thought process behind each shot is awesome. Please keep doing these.
I really respect what you do. There are so many creators on RUclips, but no one explains so much as you. People who want to start with videography they are pretty always alone, shooting alone is more difficult. And your videos shows that it doesn’t matter, that everything is possible. I wish you could do more editing lessons too. Like not only show how to shoot everything, but at the end of you video, couple minutes of editing. That would be a complete lesson for people. But in total, your videos are great. Thanks for doing that.
I have the same issue with my tripod not being low enough. I've found that using sticks and stones to prop up the camera lens while it is in the ground works wonders! I guess the side of your tripod would work too! (Someone needs to invent a tripod with a camera hookup on the side of a leg for folks like us!) Great tips, per usual. 🖤
You may want to get one of those tripods with the central column that goes horizontal. You can go very low this way, or you flip the column upside down and go literally to the ground level (yes, the camera would be upside down then :-) )
such great content.. original, unique. thank you Sean. Don't stop doing these type of videos. no matter how big you get, don't abandon these type of tutorials.
There is a lot of famous filmmakers on youtube that make awsome film making tutorials. But your videos really inspires me to be more creative. Thanks, dude! My brolls are not yet perfect but they get better every time I watch your videos.
This was great! Loved the detail you gave. I realized the only thing stopping me from creating epic b roll is pure laziness. That will change after this video. Thank you Sean!!
I bumped on this video for the first time and guess what I am your subscriber, your channel has exactly the same information that I wanted. Gonna see all your videos now. Thanks Sean!
This has to be the best video on videography I've seen, so simple but seeing the thought process and story boarding in your head come to life... priceless.
This video was, far and away, the most useful and educational filmmaking video I've seen here on RUclips. And I've been binge-watching them all! Thank you, so much, for this! New sub right here!
Great info. What I like by watch these types of videos is that you always learn something new that you can use. I shoot by myself 100% of the time, so some new ideas are great. Like everyone, I am still learning. Thanks.
Thank you very much for sharing your craft with the world Sean! Love your shooting & teaching style 😉 Life to me is all about learning & passing on your personal knowledge to help grow those around you. On that note, I appreciate everything you’ve shared as you’ve grown me. Keep up the fantastic work boet!
great vid. I like how you show how you set up the shots and explain why you do the shots. Who ever thought that just riding up to a beach would look so entertaining!
Love this! I see it’s important to get the details of the overall purpose of the video in a way with the different angles. We’re some of the videos filmed in slow motion for the plants, or edited afterwards.
Oh wow that was nothing short of genius solo B-roll! Yes I enjoyed it, and I also learnt a lot. Really love your videos! Thank you for the gems of wisdom Sean! 🌹
Brother Sean, you did it again-powerful learning experience. Btw, I don’t view what you teach as tricks, but rather as creative techniques. ...and you did it all without sandals or sneakers :-). Love your devotion to your craft. Stay safe. 👍🏾💯
Hey, we do what we have to! Good stuff Sean, I'm doing exactly the same things when filming my solo hiking videos, it's much more work, but the way I see it, if I'm willing to walk that extra mile, results will be greater!
Love the shots at the end! It sucks not being able to film yourself the way you’d normally film something else with camera movements and a gimbal and whatnot.
Sean, I cannot express the quality of these videos! I am signed up to a proffesional creators masterclass and this is on the same level and I even sometimes get more value from you depending on what type of thing it is about (in this case how to film videos). Keep doing what you do, I have no doubt that you will have 200 thousand subscribers by summer 2021, but I know you don´t really care that much about your audience quantity :))
Excellent video Sean and a wealth of helpful technical and storytelling tips in this, thank you! I'm very new to video, especially outdoors and doing outdoor activities, which is where I want the focus of my channel to become, and I have a lot to learn about the storytelling aspect in particular (as well as everything else!!) so this is in my reference playlist for sure. Best wishes.
great walk through, thank you for the insight. the shots are beautiful, i wouldve loved to see the final result slower and less faced paced/quick cut, which to me went against the serence beach scene. but hey, very much appreciated.
Was so fun creating one of these again! Hope you guys enjoy it!
