The last few days, late December 2023, I've had this song in my head. Yellow River was on 630 CHED, the rock station here in Edmonton Alberta Canada when I was young. Great, great song !! 👌👍
Dear Jeff, I discovered "Yellow River" earlier this year on a Swedish retro station at the age 37. It is one of the best pop songs I have ever heard. I conveyed my adoration of the song to my Dad, and he told me that it was a big favourite of his when he was a student in Leeds in 1970. Thank you for the music! Steve

What a great video you have posted here, too. Thank you for the music & the memories ! As I said, I was only 3 when this was "current," but my radio was my best friend & this happy tune was always a favorite when it would play. I hope you are doing well these days, Sir Jeff ! I have only listened to this about 7 times now !
Wow just rediscovered this again! Happy memories. And with the original drummer Mick Blakley. I reheard this the other day, and just like before I cant stop singing it to myself like before!
This may be the biggest hit yet the LP/CD Christie is well written and worthy of any music fans collection.I ended up buying this on vinyl 2 years ago and still enjoy it.
Jeff, howdy! Gee, what a cool song this is. Just for you, Jeff, to know, it took Brazil over back then. It was an anthem, mandatory in parties, a lullaby song for so many teen romance all over the country. Thank you, buddy. It brought me some good memories. Cheers! Marco
I was 8 then. We've had the best of the two worlds: the actual songs and musicians then and technologies to continue watching them today. Love and Good Music to dveryone forever😍
The band you see in this video was Jeff Christie's touring band. The band you hear is actually The Tremeloes. The Tremeloes recorded this song with a view to releasing it as a single. However they reconsidered as they were changing direction. Jeff Christie had written the song so he took the backing track from the Tremeloes and recorded his own vocals over the top. He very deservedly had a hit with it. The Tremeloes still play this song in concert.
This is the correct speed I remember when it first came on the radio. I do remember my band The Sunshine Band playing it a bit slower now in Corpus Christi,Texas. Thanks Jeff for the memories!

Bravo Jeff !
Hearing this after ages ! Thanks for sharing !
I was only 2 and half years old in the summer of 1970. Maybe they played this song very often in the following summers as well. But I remember very well, and still love so much, this song.
The last few days, late December 2023, I've had this song in my head. Yellow River was on 630 CHED, the rock station here in Edmonton Alberta Canada when I was young. Great, great song !! 👌👍
Play this song all the time. This was released when I graduated from high school in 1970. Great song and singer.
Came out right after my mother died, really brings back good and not-so good memories. Never hear songs like this anymore.
Steve
懐かしい〜青春時代の最高に好きな曲です‼️今でも、オールディズ曲に入っていて聞きますよー
I love this song and never get tired of listening to it , Thankyou .
A musica que revolucionou a discoteca do Canecão com Big Boy em 1970, dancei muito. Curti muito. Belos tempos, belos dias.

Good times...only through music to return to the past. Thanks for the post.
Retro tune with some awesome chord changes & terrific bass runs! Love it!
I'm 16 years old, I listen to a huge number of songs of those years, thanks to my dad for showing me the world of good music, it's a pity that now they don't try so hard when creating music ...
🙏😉
Love from Stockholm, Sweden 🇸🇪 ☀️ ❤️
Jeff Christie! This is one of my all time fave songs. Every time I here it makes me smile and feel nostalgic. ~ Mary

Where is yellow river
@@brendadrumm9451 all I know is the song is about the American civil war.
Don't know where yellow River is.
Some say Vietnam because the song was made in 1970
But there is nothing to back that up

My mum listened to 70's music so when we were driving home from a trip we used to listen this in the car. One of my favourites with sweet funny funny.
Loved this song always, loved the video.

Christie had one of the best songs of the early seventies with this ... Yellow River was brilliant.
Still awesome and evocative after all these decades. Great stuff tends to stay great, and I'd love to play this song sometime at a live gig. Five stars all the way.
This was a big hit back in the day. Brings back happy memories.😂
One of the best POP songs ever!
I want to visit that famous yellow river, it seems to be a nice place.
Nice music...greetings from Costa Rica!.
I was very very young when this song was played on the radio, nonetheless, clicking around today on RUclips has brought it back to me as a most unexpected and sweet treat !
This may be the biggest hit yet the LP/CD Christie is well written and worthy of any
music fans collection.I ended up buying this on vinyl 2 years ago and still enjoy it.
Excellent. Brings me right back to the happiest times of my life.
A Great Song from a Great Man. Thank you Jeff.
Rio Amarelo is a song that makes up for the sad hours of life. I never got tired of listening to it. It was part of my youth. Thanks a lot Jeff.
beautiful song, beautiful lyrics... from the heart.
5 stars.
