I’m 72 years old and I was a teenager and this was played on my radio in the the 70s. I retired from the Marine Corps in 2000 after a 30 year career. This makes me feel like a teenager all over again.👍🇺🇸 Great song!!!!

So long boy, you can take my place
Got my papers, I got my pay
So pack my bags and I'll be on my way
    To Yellow River
Put my gun down, the war is won
Fill my glass high, the time has come
I'm goin' back to the place that I love
    Yellow River
    Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my mind and in my eyes
    Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my blood, it's the place I love
    Got no time for explanations
    Got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me sleepin'
    Underneath the moon
    At Yellow River
Cannon fire lingers in my mind
I'm so glad I'm still alive
And I've been gone for such a long time
    From Yellow River
I remember the nights were cool
I can still see the water pool
And I remember the girl that I knew
    From Yellow River
    Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my mind and in my eyes
    Yellow River, Yellow River
Is in my blood, it's the place I love
    Got no time for explanations
    Got no time to lose
Tomorrow night you'll find me sleepin'
    Underneath the moon

A musica que revolucionou a discoteca do Canecão com Big Boy em 1970, dancei muito. Curti muito. Belos tempos, belos dias.

Grew up listening as a little girl reminds me of summertime float trips with friends along the Illinois River, lots of tippy canoes 🛶 water moccasin snakes, sunburns & fun times. The band along the hwy at the end looks like they’re hitchhiking & running towards their ride, sweet memories of days long past!! ☀️☀️☀️

I was very very young when this song was played on the radio, nonetheless, clicking around today on RUclips has brought it back to me as a most unexpected and sweet treat ! What a great video you have posted here, too. Thank you for the music & the memories ! As I said, I was only 3 when this was "current," but my radio was my best friend & this happy tune was always a favorite when it would play. I hope you are doing well these days, Sir Jeff ! I have only listened to this about 7 times now !
